Warm, welcoming atmosphere. We went form an evening meal 4 adults and 1 dog. Good was outstanding. The Dirty Hog burger was really good and as for the light bite fish finger sandwich was anything but. Would definitely go again when back in the area.

We had the Sunday lunch menu and all I can say is it was amazing, from the starter to the pudding. The staff were so welcoming and attentive and the food tasted amazing.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Victoria, and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. Exceptional service provided by the manager, Kitt. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel like valued guests and his recommendations were spot on. I enjoyed one of the most beautiful fillet steaks I have ever tasted and was honestly blown away by the quality and my husband had the Dirty Hogg burger, aptly titled as it was enormous and even filled the black hole that is my his stomach, it's a rare day when he says he is full after a meal! The malbec was spot on and my husband said the lager that we were recommended was very nice too. Lovely decor inside and out, we are looking forward to coming back!

Went here for my daughter's local hen. From start to finish it was fantastic, food was stunning, staff was absolutely amazing,, big shout out to Toni who looked after us throughout , she was fabulous. Definitely recommend the bottomless brunch it was just the best !!! Thankyou .

Excellent food , we had the fishcake salad and the Mediterranean flatbread(very tasty) . Made even nicer sat in the enclosed garden .

The Victoria has a lovely modern decor, with the seating well organised so that you're not too close to other tables. The restaurant at the back has lovely big patio doors overlooking a pretty beer garden and gorgeous views into Bailey Park. The staff were excellent, friendly and just the right amount of attentiveness without being intrusive. Unfortunately, the food did not match this standard. I ordered a steak burger with blue cheese sauce which came with triple cooked chips, the burger patty was homemade and well seasoned, the blue cheese sauce was also delicious, but the pieces of steak were overcooked and a bit chewy, the brioche bun was squashed, and the fried onions it was supposed to come with was a big spoonful of onion chutney that was too sweet and overpowering. The chips did indeed look like they had been triple cooked but not in a good way, as they were very dark and overcooked, they were soft and not crispy as triple cooked chips should be. Foolishly I ordered a dessert hoping this would be better. I had the rocky road brownie with vanilla icecream, the brownie was again overcooked, it was dry and hard around the edges, the icecream was good though. Overall I was really disappointed with the food, so wouldn't go there to eat again until there's a change in the kitchen, but I'd go back for a drink as the staff and ambiance was lovely.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We had the best time at The Victoria for our bottomless brunch. Their staff made our visit, really friendly and attentive. We were not left waiting for anything and they were really helpful with drink recommendations. The food was delicious, these might be the best chips in Abergavenny (better than the fish & chip shops, personally). Really good portions, fresh and good value for money! The drinks were all spot on, and it was lovely to sit in the sun in the beer garden. Thank you again, we’ll be back soon! ❤️

I've been here a handful of times and it really is a fantastic place, the food is first class the staff are so friendly and polite, this is our go-to place now whether it's for a family meal or a quick drink.

Well a bit disappointed to say the least traveled quite a way for a family meal and the chef needs a different career shame as the staff and service was good however the food was possibly the worst Iv ever had fillet steak was £35 and he ruined it Iv had better frying steak chips were another level black burnt soggy, the food was tasteless completely shame tho , it suddenly became apparent why the tables were empty on a Saturday afternoon day before Mother’s Day however they did offer a round of drinks as an apology

Myself and partner went for lunch today as I had seen good reviews and wanted to try for myself. Did not disappoint - lovely setting, really like interior especially sofas around woodburner area. Really clean and modern interior. Was greeted by friendly bartender/waiter who looked after us very well on our visit. Not that many people inside but it was snow showers on and off which might have put people off going out! Food was good Haddock & Chips and Chicken Tikka Masala both came out really well presented and piping hot. We did indulge in desserts of Apple Crumble and Rocky Road Brownie with Ice Cream (which was absolutely 100% moorish). Outside area overlooking park looks lovely spot for a summers day - as dog owners we will revisit with our pooches soon.

Had our traditional Ham egg and chips there this year, Boxing Day. Very good indeed. They accommodate an extra 5 members of the family at such short notice too. 16 of us and the staff were very attentive with everyone. Will definitely be back!

I have been a few times since it opened in the summer and everything is always amazing. The food is absolutely beautiful. We recently had the Christmas menu and I would highly recommend it! The flavours were amazing, freshly prepared to order and using local produce. And a great atmosphere with a really lovely team of staff.

Excellent festive lunch, friendly staff. Place was scrupulously clean with a good vibe, and music played at low volume. We had a great table looking out over the park and saw several squirrels. Lovely will return.

Our first visit to the refurbished Victoria on a rare visit to Abergavenny from our home in Spain. "The Vic" was where I tasted my first pint (and I was 18 at the time) so it was very nostalgic. The standard of the refurb is extremely high matched only by the quality of the service and excellent food. We really enjoyed our first visit and it will become a regular on all future visits to the town.

The landlady is very obliging. The drinks are reasonably priced. Looking a lot better than it has done for a long time.

Nice well kept pub, like the high tables and chairs, and me importantly a nice glass of cider. Oh yeah and a friendly helpful landlord too. Always like going in whenever we're in town
