Whilst driving around looking for yet another Welsh castle we happened upon this little gem. Sprockwobbles was warm, comfy and eclectic with an uncomplicated menu. The staff were awesome, the food was really good and inexpensive. There was no excessive waiting around which is always good when you’re on the move. If you see the place just go in.

Sprokwobbles has a lovely interior and a good vibe. It's clearly popular with locals, with a nice community feel. Our coffee was excellent, and so was the carrot cake. We appreciated the music too - not your usual tinny cafe sounds! Service was quick and efficient. One staff member seemed a little surprised when I asked if the bacon was outdoor reared (not). Another heard our conversation about milk prices and joined in to defend their pricing, telling us 99.9% of people don't drink oatmilk, though we were actually talking about the impact of cheap industrial dairy milk on animal welfare and small dairy farmers. We glanced up when some cyclists brought their bikes through to the back, and the same staff member offered a lengthy defence, though we didn't mind at all - 'tilting at windmills' came to mind!

What a fab cafe! We loved it. Great service, lovely coffee, tasty food and nice atmosphere. We took our dog with us and the waitress passed us a few dog biscuits after we got to our table. Big windows means lots of light in the front seated room. I spotted local eggs for sale at £1.65 for half a dozen and local honey on sale as well. We live in Cwmbran but will definitely be back.

The cafe itself is nice and as people say it has a small courtyard at the back which is why we decided to go here. We didn't mind the wait for food, but my friend and i expected a bit more from the ploughmans (we both had the same). I expected "proper ham not an obvious packet ham and we both expected a crusty roll/bread rather than a couple of soft rolls. However the cakes did look lovely and i would come back for a cake. I would give the rating a 3 plus but not a 4 as 4 is "very good" and just a couple of tweaks would have made the difference.

Stopped for breakfast at Sprokwobbles after an early hot air balloon ride over the Wye Valley. Birthday gift for Mum. Delightful small Cafe not far from the river Usk. Just what I was looking for. Has different seated areas with their own character. Opted for breakfast out in their lovely outdoor area. I thought I’d try something different and ordered the pancakes. I was served three large homemade pancakes with six strips of streaky bacon and a generous quantity of maple syrup. There is also an option to substitute the bacon for blueberries and banana if desired. Glad I had a pot of tea to wash it down as the portion size exceeded expectations. Needles to say I enjoyed very much. Mum enjoyed coffee and a croissant. She was pleased that she was served real raspberry jam (rather than a seedless variety) and that the staff provided her espresso according to her particular requirements. She likes her coffee very strong and very hot so likes a plate over the cup and then dilutes it with equally hot water to taste. Mum was pleasantly surprised that they did exactly as she asked as most people don’t! Good food, great value in a lovely setting. Thank you very much. Hope to visit again soon to try the full breakfast and the selection of homemade cakes.

Sprockwobbles is a lovely cafe/deli that I often visit when staying with family in Usk. Today mum and I decided to treat ourselves to a doorstep bacon sandwich for brunch and it was delicious. I am tempted to try one of the platters (Greek, Spanish or Italian) for lunch next time we visit. We sat outside in the courtyard garden which was quiet and peaceful - you couldn't hear any traffic from the main street. The cafe inside has a nice relaxed atmosphere and is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. I always buy some cheese from the deli counter and today tried Tintern with chives. This is a little gem of a place. Walk along Usk High street and if you're distracted you might miss it. You'd miss some of the loveliest local produce and deli counter this side (east) of the Usk river. try some of their cheeses - many of them locally sourced - and the delicious focolare ham. Fabulous.

We called in for a late lunch and enjoyed our food. The service was very good and it was just what you need a cafe to be.

Lovely tea for me and 5 yr old. Greek salad and hearty ham sandwiches with quality ham and beautiful fresh bread. Would definitely recommend.

Just had fish bites and chips. Absolutely stunning!! The inside of the chips were fluffy and soft and the fish tasted so good. Will definitely call in again

We shared 6 Vegetable dishes for lunch today, plus a pud, and every mouthful was sensational. The dishes were complex and delicious, and very satisfying. It is difficult to find good vegetarian food that I can’t cook equally well at home. These dishes really were better than anything I’ve cooked, and there was plenty of choice. Plenty of choice for carnivores too. The chefs really know how to squeeze the maximum flavour out of every ingredient. The celeriac dish was my favourite , but we couldn’t decide which was our second favourite plate of deliciousness. We’ll be back.

Took my sales team here for lunch, 10 of us in total. The food is incredible and you certainly won’t go hungry. Everyone at the pub is friendly and can’t do enough for you. Feels like a good old fashioned boozer set in an amazing position on the Wye. Everyone only had good things to say about the place. Steak is a specialty here. No hesitation in recommending the Rose and Crown. Thanks all who looked after us that day.

9 of us for dinner. Just as well we had booked as the place was rammed! No surprises why! We had a fantastic meal. I think we had the best waitress I've ever experienced and the landlord and his wife/partner put in a good shift as well and obviously the chefs. What amazed me most was I could see into the kitchen and there only appeared to be 2 people in there and I didn't hear a raised word all the time I was there! Anyway top marks Hall Inn, we all loved the experience. My wife and I live in York and we will be definately coming back when we next visit.

Lovely Irish landlady was extremely accommodating to me & my two boys.. Service was how service used to be before the big pub chains took over everything… Food was brilliant.. Had to have the bread pudding as haven’t had it since I was a kid.. took me right back! Definitely recommend and will return 👌🏼
