The best restaurants in North Wales

Very limited parking. Very out dated coffee is awful. Some staff have an attitude problem.

Always get incredible fish and chips from the Caddy Cafe when staying on Shell Island.

Stunning Tearoom attached to St Asaph Cathedral. Staff are lovely and friendly, cafe is fresh, clean and well maintained. The scones are absolutely beautiful, much nicer than M&S and other cafes in the area. Nice choice of sandwiches, toasties, home made soup and a lovely selection of teas and coffee. Definitely the best cafe in St Asaph by far.

Went for dinner Saturday 19th August. Had a very warm welcome from Morgan and the two waitresses. Restaurant and bar looks great with a pleasant atmosphere. Looking at the menu there was a tasty range of dishes to choose from. I understand this changes regularly with the Chef, James, showcasing his formidable talents. I was blown away by what came out, each dish serving up a symphony of tastes and textures, my photos do not do them justice (I forgot to take picture of main- beef ragu, in my haste to get started on it). I could not fault Selar and will certainly return, hopefully not driving next time so I can sample their extensive wine list and cocktails. Exceptional value, quality and experience. I real gem for the area.

Thought I'd pop in forward coffee while waiting for someone to arrive off the train, couldn't belive you charge £4.20 for a latte 😳 I'm all for supporting local businesses, but sorry that's the only £4.20 you'll get from me 👎

This was the first time we tried this takeaway. Sadly it was a disappointment. We thought we would give it a try as we try to support local businesses. The meal was ready on time which was positive. The meal itself was more like a soup rather than a curry, infact it was like an uncle Ben's. Not the Indian food we are used too, perhaps it the chef is from a different region. Sorry but I can not recommend.

The food was good and served in a timely manner, it was rather empty for a Friday night. I did notice a very reasonably priced Ch Musar on the winelist. My colleague and I had beer instead.

The Boat doesn’t disappoint. Although the day was cool and wet so we couldn’t enjoy the wonderful outdoor seating by the river, the cosy dining room and the warm service more than compensated. Food delicious (crispy beef salad, prawn starter and crème brûlée all excellent.) Will be back soon!

Amazing food - fresh crab, fantastic chips, delicious bao buns, all so delicious and plenty of it. Service was perfect, really lovely staff and the price was very reasonable. 10/10 would recommend

Prob nicest fish I’ve eaten was 3/4 inch thick and large very crispy and tasty chips Weren’t greasy at all, great customer service too locky staff

Booked for a quiet evening in February. Service was attentive without being invasive Delicious looking menu and excellent wine list. Reasonably priced, but exquisite dining Recommend
