Very friendly staff. Lots of parking and a cafe. Nice walks from short to longer, but none are very long. Lots of information and spots to watch the birds. A lovely way to spend a few hours in nature. Great views of Conwy Castle across the estuary too.

Good reserve, very friendly and helpful staff.👍 Wonder why no hide(s) along sea view area? (Would be perfect)! Sadly, the weather was absolutely atrocious!! Hence, on this occasion, most satisfying was lunch in the cafe!!🤭

Been coming here for 13 years, bar lockdown. Always enjoy the tranquility of the place, sits right alongside the A55, but you wouldn't know it was so close. Update, now looking less like it used to be, appears despite the amount of rain that one lake is now dry and nothing to view there, didn't stay long.

Fantastic place, but really it's the people who make it. It's hard going new places when you're disabled in such a way as to need accommodations. This is one of those places where they're not just prepared, but eager to help you enjoy your visit to the fullest. Will definitely be back!

Very helpful staff at visitor centre. Good facilities. Lots of birds on the River Conwy. Many hides around the reserve overlooking the lakes. Good views of Conwy Castle and the box bridge for trains crossing the River Conwy. The only thing that I didn't like was the constant noise from the A55 expressway but ironically that is the reason this reserve exists.

This is a well- considered and well-thought out RSPB site. I’ll go in order of a general visit: Parking: free and tonnes of it! Gates close at 17:00 Reception and shop: there’s the usual knock knacks like books and keyrings but there’s a wide range of these, and some high quality things like good chocolates and great gift ideas. There’s also lots of bird feeders, seed, binoculars and monoscopes and such. Plus, the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable! Next there’s a small sandpit playground for small kids, a climbing frame and slide etc. and this sits close to the cafe. In the cafe, they serve ready made sandwiches and lots of cakes and biscuits, all homemade by a local business I think. Theres nice views out and it’s a good spot for a cheapish drink (two lattes and a slice of very nice Bara Brith was £8) Walking around the RSPB there’s good paths all around, lots of hides, lots of foliage and when you get round to the lake, lots of open space and great views to Snowdonia. Some parts seem a little shabby in the bushes and round the paths, but most of it is beautiful and rustic! A walk around takes about an hour at a leisurely pace, stopping at the hides, etc. We loved it! If this helped, give it a like so others see it 😉

Lovely visit here. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Liked the children's trail and kept our 5 year old engaged while keeping him 'in the moment' (unlike trails that require phones). Cafe was a bit limited on what was available when we went, but what we had was nice. Took prams but the route that goes out to the estuary wasn't really suitable as lots of loose stones. Great value for money.

It's a lovely reserve and a nice walk. I enjoyed myself, listening peacefully to the birdsong. Being a photographer, however, I found a minor frustration in the hides being a long distance from the main bird habitats. But I understand the need for a healthy separation between humans and their feathery friends.

Great place for a walk, lots of information about the birds and nature, lots of hides to make use of. A hard core path so walking boots are not needed although there were a few muddy puddles due to the amount of rain recently. A choice of different lengths of walk to suit, with views over the estuary and Conwy Castle on the longer walkwhich still only takes about an hour, stopping to look at nature aside. A great play area for kids and really nice cafe. Recommend the bacon bap its huge and brilliant value.

Flat walks and hides around the site. The site is right by the A55 so the traffic noise is a permanent reminder. Non-members need to pay £6 each (free for members) to do the 35 minute stroll around the reserve, which is a bit expensive but as a charity I'm sure walkers accept the warm feeling of giving to the project. We enjoyed the soup and roll after the walk in the cafe.

Had a very blustery walk about, but it didn't put the birds or wild horses off! There was a very friendly Robin bobbing about that my mum had a lovely encounter with! We had a hot drink in the cafe after our walk to warm up. The new build is a good size and seems to offer the basics! There are 6 toilets near the cafe, unfortunately 3 of these were out of order when we were there so there was a bit of a queue for the loo, which wouldn't have been so bad if the wind didn't funnel down that bit!
