This is a cute place and I liked the relaxed seating at the back. It's quite a casual vibe which is nice. The food was okay. The chips were really good though. Service again was okay. It's a good option for a quick stop in Lampeter but I wouldn't rush back.
We've just back from spending 2 nights at the new gurkha Inn. Rooms clean , warm, with really comfortable beds. Tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast basic . Food in the restaurant is beautiful, a real treat. Would highly recommend the b&b and the restaurant. Look forward to returning .
Have been here probably half a dozen times, it’s never really been great, but local and easy for us to get to.
Nice space and conveniently located, good parking etc. Great use of welsh language - ensuring everything is bilingual, this should be applauded.
Painfully slow wait - coffees come immediately, but over 30 minutes wait for the food every time, even if it’s just a sandwich, so drinks are cold / consumed by then.
Feels overstuffed very often, one taking orders, two behind observing - not really sure if it’s efficiently run, despite most cafe staff there being paid employees and not volunteers.
There certainly isn’t a chance of over-enthusiasm by staff sadly.
Cake stand poorly filled, only ever a few sad looking items in there.
Food wise - some things ok, others overpriced for what you get.
The current fundraiser will hopefully help to keep this facility running, but can’t help feel as though there are several very “easy wins” in terms of making it more cost effective and sustainable to be had. Some business thought lacking.
What can I say, this was not as i expected from the pictures, the food was ok to be fair but definetly popety pinged and not as pictured. We were expecting a samll imtimate country pub , it wasn't like that at all. Servcie was poosr and we waited ages for an average meal. It tasted ok but I could have had similar at McDonalds. The restaurant was empty and freezing cold, we ate our food and left.
Small restaurant in an old farm kitchen with just a few tables creating a very relaxed and intimate setting. The menu is also small featuring mainly classic meals but very well put together. We had a three course meal for a set price and everything was beautifully cooked. They catered well for me being unable to eat gluten including some GF bread when I arrived with olives which was a really nice touch. Also the wine list is very impressive although I was driving this time so didn't get to sample. Lovely food and recommended.
We went here for an early lunch. My partner had a toastie and I had a panini. There were lots of choices. The service was smiley and friendly and the food was hot and delicious! Would definitely recommend.
We went in as a family of 5 with a wheelchair (having to turned back from another pub which we couldn't get the chair in). We loved it from the moment we walked in - the SA flag on the wall did help, as the well as the Halloween decorations - madly busy but fantastic fun.
The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food, although a long wait , it was exceptionally fantastic - obviously made to order too!
Look forward to returning, hopefully at Christmas.
We were visiting relatives and decided to try this Indian takeaway. I can honestly say it was delicious and we throughly enjoyed, it was well cooked, extremely tasty and we will definitely be back when visiting again
Definitely recommend
Very friendly service but the two meals we had were very disappointing. One chicken caesar salad came with very little dressing which they brought more but the chicken was over cooked and hard.
The other meal chicken and bacon salad was worse. Although the salad was just alright the chicken wasn't edible. I don't know if it was over cooked but too tough to eat. I've not had 'tough' chicken before and certainly wouldn't recommend the chicken dishes here. When we told the waiter, he was indifferent but did offer a free desert! I didn't take up the offer. I would have preferred a better (edible) I meal.
It was very disappointing as the pub has a nice ambience.
Went with a family of 8 of us and had the best Sunday lunch cooked, you feel like you’re in your nans house and that’s a compliment, homely and exceptional food . Flexible with the choice and we could have one meat or a bit of all three. I had the beef and chicken and it was amazing, especially the beef. Lots of nice veggies and the cheeses leaks were amazing.
Dog friendly and a nice atmosphere, everyone loved it.
PS desserts were amazing too, I had a pear and apple crumble which again just oozed homemade with love.
Will go back!
CHIPS HALF COOKED -HARD IN THE MIDDLE - However friendly lady server and nice and clean - was open all day which was nice but the chips needed longer }:
