Called in to the Cafe today for the first time.
What a little gem of a place.
Very friendly staff and very professional.
Food is excellent with a good choice of vegan and intolerance friendly on the menu.
Give The Cafe a try.
You won't be disappointed.
I'll definitely be going back...
Revisited and had a raw burger served, then told it was done to temperature which was clearly not the case as it was pink all the way through. Definitely don't have the burger!!!! Shame really
Wednesday night is a great night. Curry, side and a pint for £12.95. Tillie waited on us and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, tasty, fresh and piping hot. We had poppadoms and chutneys etc. King prawn bhunas, and 2 naans. Jess the landlady made us very welcome.
We visited today as we were out on the bikes. After an hours ride to get there we got a table and went inside to order food and a drink. We were then told food would be about 30min wait. We said that was fine, we were then told that it was likely they wouldn’t be able to serve us any food even if we wait any 30mins. A little disappointed we asked to get some cold drinks and were told sorry they are too busy and short staffed to do any drinks. In the time it was taken to say this, they could have done 3 cold drinks. We were told Morrisons was around the corner though so to go there! Having run a family owned restaurant I appreciate finding staff is hard but I’ve never experienced a welcome like this before. We went here because we had heard good things, I won’t be in a rush to return.
Stopped off on a long car journey, so the pub fulfilling its original role as former coaching in stop.
Really good food, excellent service and great value for money. Despite being very busy, everything worked well. Particularly recommend the house steak and ale pie.
Also dog friendly which is a bonus.
Top place - will call again.
Very poor, got there, got told after about 20 minutes of waiting there was no electricity, then told it would be 15 minutes, waited a additional hour, with no update, staff were very unhelpful and rude,so left, wouldn't advise anyone to go, plenty of other nicer establishments close by
Very disappointed.
Ordered a diet coke and a lemonade, the lemonade was initially just served from a bottle of Schweppes. It did get rectified but only because the drinks were made again in error by another staff member.
With the food, half way through eating I found a chunk of glass in my salad leaves that accompanied a baguette. Mistakes happen so went to the counter to inform them. Asked if it was in the salad leaves & I confirmed. When the staff member returned she stated that the leaves were from Morrisons so the chef would be raising it with them and to leave the salad leaves. That was ok but the salad was also in the baguette I had ordered. No refund or discount offered which was poor as could not eat a portion of the meal.

Absolutely loved staying here! Had everything we needed!! Collette and George went above and beyond, so so friendly and welcoming and always up for a good chat. The whole team were extremely hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. A great location with stunning views of the hills and fields. Food was absolutely delicious and so so reasonably priced. The pod was equipped with all what we needed and was warm and cozy in the nights with the sun beaming in. Truly an amazing stay and 10/10 hospitality from the hosts. Can’t wait to return and have a natter over a glass of port!!!
