Lamb and Flag Inn-Bar-Grill in Powys

My friends and I popped in for a quick lunch; we had the 5bean chilli loaded fries and a couple of burgers. The food was great, everything was fresh! Would definitely recommend!

Had dinner here after a day of off roading. Great atmosphere, great food, pleasant staff, fairly priced. Couldn’t ask for more.

Will be back. We had a lovely Sunday lunch here recently and enjoyed it very much. 😋😊

Quick stop for lunch handy to have open on a Tuesday when very little else open in Rhayader - large portions and reasonably priced

Fab street side benches to soak up the sun and have some drinks, perfect spot to people watch.

Stopped off on my road trip for some real food, what I got was an amazing burger cooked perfectly. Warmed by their wood stove. Staff we're friendly and fast.

Stopped for dinner at the Lamb & Flag whilst staying in a holiday rental nearby. Walked in to a really busy pub as the football was on but the man behind the bar greeted us and found us a table quickly! Sat in the bar as we had our dog with us. Ordered burgers and some side and was amazed at the portion sizes! Great value for money and good quality food! Best place we ate in Rhayader.

Im a support worker,myself and a colleague took our clients there on a sunday and service was great,and the sunday dinner was absolutely fantastic personally i thought the value was spot on,and you get a big portion 😋 👌,my clients enjoyed it also,very highly recommended 😀

Called in for an afternoon pint of very nice Welsh bitter.

Reasonably priced for the region, courteous service, I ordered beef shin, which is not a simple dish; it was served undercooked and inedible. It was hard to find a piece that could be chewed. Apart from that, the family left full, but it is not a place to return to.

Don't bother going unless your a local the locals are rude and the staff did not interviene when they were hurling abuse the staff just laughed men were pulling trousers down and showing their rear while 3 kids were eating

Absolutely incredible food. Both had loaded fries and were thoroughly impressed. The service was amazing, we were well and truly looked after. Couldn’t rate it highly enough and look forward to coming back!

Lovely pub. Open all day after 12 noon. Open log fire and pool table. Two large screen tv,s. Serves food and has a restaurant within. Food was delicious 100% recommended. If your happy with my reviews please hit the like button

We were passing through Rhayader and stopped off as a group of ten of us. The staff were brilliant at managing to fit us in without prior booking. The service was very quick and staff were attentive to our drinks orders. Food was all brilliant - especially the hunters chicken loaded fries!

Lovely pub and friendly staff. Food took a bit long but everyone was happy with their meal. For people with children just to note that there is no changing facility but you can use the crown inn which is their sister pub across the road.

Called into this lovely place for some food whilst in Rhayader. Really good food and the service was good. We are already planning a return visit later in the week.

Never had chance to try food as was told "we've got so many orders,it'll be long time ",we wouldnt mind wait but that just put us off,pub did look ok though.

It's a beautiful Inn. The staff are fantastic. The room we stayed in (room 4) was warm and comfortable, and all rooms have en suite bathrooms. The food was good but a little pricey. Grateful location and the town is beautiful. Everyone is friendly and most places are dog friendly too.

Had a beautiful lunch , a cheese jacket potato served with a salad and Coleslaw with friends, service was good and food good value for the money.

Stopped off here after visiting the Kite feeding centre...what can I say....Staff were very friendly and very polite...service was excellent and the food was absolutely fantastic...Will definitely recommend and keep up the good work

Definitely the nicest food we've had all holiday. The southern fried chicken loaded fries for £11 was an absolute bargain and the staff and other guests were so friendly towards our family. Dog friendly too

Lovely friendly atmosphere. Great at making sure I could have a lovely meal even with all my intolerances. Very dog friendly too.

Not many places open in the town early in the week, but the food and service here were superb. Could have sat in here all day if not for our toddler!

Excellent menu. Helpful, welcoming staff.

The food was good and we didn't have to wait long to get it. Our only small niggle was that we were put in the corner tucked away even though another table was available in a better position for all the time we were there. We walked in and booked the table in person for later on in the evening as the website said all the tables were fully booked, so we'd recommend doing that or phoning instead.

Really nice meal, good sized portions. Children and dogs welcome too. Good outdoor covered area with lots of tables.

Called in for a couple drinks on Saturday afternoon. Lovely spot in the sunshine outside. We didn’t eat, but the food looked good that we saw going out!

Nice food, not long waiting time

We're sitting outside under the canopy. It's lovely and warm, the beer is good, and we just had two fantastic meals. You get a lot for your money, so make sure you're hungry!

Wen here twice. In the afternoon & evening so had food off both menues, the food both times was spot-on doesnt sit heavy and decent portions. Staff were friendly and it wasnt too busy woulnt 100% recommend. Only issue we had was that 'R'Kid hit his head about 3 times in the low ceiling. Defo needs some (mind your head signs).

The beer was good. The toilets were good. The menu was small. The fish chips and peas,well the batter was smooth and soft the fish was gooey there was way to many peas and not enough chips. And it took a long time for the food to be delivered and it was not very busy. The outside seating area is next to the pavement and main road with no fence, constantly full of large lorrys and cars in ques trying to get through the busy junction. Will not go there again.

First time visiting this area and found the Lamb and Flag Inn. We called in today for a drink and a meal .The interior is how you would expect from a old pub and the owners have managed to retain its charm which we loved.The staff are very friendly and when our meals came,they were very nicely presented and tasty. I had a chicken meal and my partner choose the vegetable lasagne which he said was excellent. Definitely think we will be coming back and another opportunity to explore this lovely area of Wales.

We stayed for one night and had food in the pub. The accommodation was basic but fine for a night. In the pub we ordered the nachos, a steak and ale pie and the veggie lasagne. Food was really tasty, portion sizes were enormous and service was quick. Its a cosy pub with an open fire but shame about the tv screens!

They were very accommodating to our large group (30 people) that dropped in on them for lunch unannounced. Food was great, the burgers were tasty, the lasagne looked amazing and the bacon & cheese smother fries were great.

Good little pub, service from staff was a bit hit and miss as the bar was busy so this didn’t bother me that much, the food was nice and it was reasonable priced.

Great food, price and location. Highly recommended if ever in the area.

Good rooms and a nice pub downstairs with some very friendly locals. Get yourself a massive breakfast roll and head off to the beautiful Elan valley in the morning. Can’t complain.

25/11/23 visit for Lunch - Couple Food, service, and cost were all absolutely amazing. Could not fault the waiting time, the food that arrived, the quality of the food, and the overall cost. Really nice little pub with open fire. Free parking in cattle market was an added bonus.

Beautiful. We stopped here after a day of exploring. The food was lovely and quick. The place is clean, it's also done out lovely too. Nice atmosphere, and I would definitely stop here again if I were around this area again.

Great value. Visited this one first before their sister pub opposite. Good choice on the menu and food plentiful and tasty! Between us, we had the drunken cow burger, chicken pie, and the chicken burger. All very nice!

Stopped for lunch on our way to our holiday accommodation. Lovely roaring fire and good food.

Went in for a drink they had no Sunday dinner at 330pm so if wanting Sunday lunch come early before 2pm just a note as locals no this they get sold out pretty quick. Just came in with the dog had a pint, it's nice inside, it has a log fire, wasn't on but would be nice in the Winter. Nice friendly pub.
