The Green Dragon Inn & Kitchen in Powys

Absolutely loved staying here! Had everything we needed!! Collette and George went above and beyond, so so friendly and welcoming and always up for a good chat. The whole team were extremely hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. A great location with stunning views of the hills and fields. Food was absolutely delicious and so so reasonably priced. The pod was equipped with all what we needed and was warm and cozy in the nights with the sun beaming in. Truly an amazing stay and 10/10 hospitality from the hosts. Can’t wait to return and have a natter over a glass of port!!!

I walked here on Offa’s Dyke Path. Stayed in a pod as I fancied a warmer night than I’d been experiencing in my tent. Very strong welcome. As I was due to arrive after the kitchen closed, Steve assured they’d rustle me up a bite to eat even so. I wasn’t disappointed. I’ve never stayed in a pod before. It’s meant to be basic but clean and tidy, and that is what it was. Bed, sofa, electric kettle, power and heater - all the things I didn’t have in my rucksack, and very much appreciated. The valiant heater did its best, but I have to say struggled to make it super cosy. Mind you it was very cold outside and I was very snug in my sleeping bag. Maybe a slightly more powerful heater may help for those sort of nights. The facilities are old basic. We’re not talking inflated Caravan Club standards, but they are clean and do the job, and the prices are very affordable too unlike the CC. Most of all I’d like to thank my hosts who were very generous and kind. I wish them well in making a go of it and look forward to seeing them again when I return to hit the trail again.

Wow. What a find. Happened upon this gem just on the outskirts of Welshpool. We arrived quite hungry and in need of some good food. It certainly didn’t disappoint. Chris, the chef here for the weekend, but hopefully longer gave us a tantalising recommendation of specials. We decided upon the Vietnamese pork burgers. They were just amazing. Big shout out to Chris, absolutely superb. Wonderful to have found out we can camp here also. Thank you so much George and Collette for a wonderfully hosted experience.

Pub and campsite. We stopped over on the way home from Pembrokeshire. Whole place under new management by a family who are obviously feeling their way into running a business. It would be interesting to jump forward a year and see if they’re still here. Good - friendly people, nice campsite pitch. Bad - facilities awful, lots of road noise.

Travelling back to Swansea from Lake District and goggling a place to stop for Sunday Lunch. This had good reviews & I now know why. The hosts were really friendly, the place was clearly popular. And the ambience & decor was quaint & cosy. Finally, the sunday roasts were so so tasty. Generous portions , and home cooked to the highest quality. Hope to visit again on our travels. ( notice they also do camping & Glamping options too )

Sunday lunch out. Food was very well cooked and presented. Price was ok due to the high quality of the food. Decent amount of drink options but only 1 ale. Very friendly staff, clean premises and if the weather is good, plenty of out door seating. Dog and child friendly. We didn't camp there but the facilities looked good and quite cheap.

What a lovely stop over with are campervan, had a lovely meal in pub, Food was excellent. Staff friendly and lovely pub.

We had a delicious roast and the dogs had a cooked slice sausage each. A lovely homely pub.

Went for tea with my family. Lovely setting, nice seating area out the back. Well maintained play area for the kids which they loved. The food was very nice, particularly the guiness, steak and stilton pie! I would also recommend the fish dish. There is a good selection of drinks on offer and I thought the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely go again!

After a lovely walk in the countryside we came to the Green Dragon, we were greeted by the friendly lady behind the bar which later turned out to be the co-owner Shaz. We immediately felt welcome and the service was excellent :) We ordered the salt and pepper squid and chicken wings as starters to share which were both incredible, for mains we chose the burger and veg tart which again was amazing and they do not skimp on portions! Tommy came out the kitchen to see if everything was OK and we honestly couldn't fault anything.. Chef to chef we chatted and we could see how much passion and care this awesome couple have for their pub! Please go and try their food, there's an amazing tapas menu available along with classic favourites and homemade pizzas.. their Sunday roasts look impeccable and the beer garden is stunning. Thank you for an amazing meal and experience on our holiday, we will be definitely visit again! Best of luck from Rhiannon and Matt!! :)

Delicious Sunday roast with helpful options and lovely thoughtful staff.

Popped in as driven past numerous times and never stopped by. What a lovely place- so friendly! Decided to have a Sunday roast; was delicious!!!! Our dog Ringo , was treated to sausage and gravy ! Will definitely become regulars on our way to our caravan. Thank you

Warm welcome with amazing home cooked food. Stopped off for food en route from a camping holiday but will definitely make this wonderful pub a stop over in future. Camping facilities are clean and well maintained. Highly recommended.

Came here today for food and was not disappointed. We both had the Sunday Roast with beef, which was absolutely gorgeous and a nice helping of veg and gravy. Staff were really friendly, and made a fuss of our dog Eddie, even giving him a sausage with gravy on the house. Would wholly recommend this place and look forward to coming back soon.

Ardderchog! The food was delicious. The salad was lovely and fresh, the jacket potato was cooked perfectly and the chips were chunky, fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Great atmosphere and lovely staff

Little gem just on the outskirts of Welshpool Town centre. Large carpark at the front, large garden with children's play area at the rear as well as facilities to camp. The pub itself is quirky and intimate. Bar staff were friendly, cheerful and accommodating but the main reason for the 5 star review is the Sunday lunch. This was amazing! They offer beef, pork or turkey plated Sunday lunches. I opted for beef. A generous portion of beautifully cooked beef appeared on the table within 15 minutes of ordering served with boiled potatoes, pigs in blankets, stuffing, a giant homemade Yorkshire pudding and the best roast potatoes to ever pass my lips. A further bowl of deliviously cooked seasonal veg and a big jug of gray were brought out straight after. The food was exquisite. Absolutely delicious. I finished it off with a single scoop of the best rum and raisin ice cream I've ever had. Would highly recommend 👌

Really tasty food and came very quickly. There were lots of vegetarian and vegan options and the staff were very understanding of different diets and intolerances. The chef came out at one point and was very friendly

Drove out with the family for a random stop for some food. Came across this place only to be welcomed by the owners. Lovely atmosphere here as its also vintage second hand items there too. Food was all home made and cooked to very good standard. Would recommend here. They also cater for camping Aswell. With views of Rodney's piller

Had a fantastic evening and overnight stay at the Green Dragon. Excellent food and great service from the friendly staff. We will certainly be returning. Great value for the money.
