found maggots in the food, owner used some disgusting language against me as a child!! owner needs to learn some respect for other people especially for being drunk while serving customers. absolutley appauling.

We often visit on a Sunday lunchtime for the Carvery. The food is a very good standard and all the staff do their utmost to help. As a pub, it provides a great atmosphere and the landlord is very friendly.

Lad running bar lent me 4 quid, bless him. Had my wallet nicked at co-op. Came back 13 days later to repay him. He refused. I bought him a pint instead.

Really friendly place. Landlord is accommodating. Food is outstanding .

Very friendly and chatty owner. Pulled up for a night in the van, and used showers and washing up facilities. Would stay again!

We called in mid-week for lunch. The owner said they didn't do lunchtime food. Very rude and then started swearing at one of the regular drinkers who didn't seem to mind as l expect they only like locals there.

Sunday carvery meats of Beef and turkey were exceptional the best meats you will find anywhere, the vegetables were well cooked and tasty. Great dessert options. We have decided to visit again we are in the region.

Visited this pub today and very impressed. Landlord and team very helpful and accommodating. Dog friendly. The best Sunday dinner I've eaten in years with fabulous local meat cooked to perfection and vegetables well seasoned. Nothing too much trouble. Well done all see you soon.

Setch and Heather are brilliant hosts, my partner and I moved Into churchstoke in May and from the first moment we walked in were made to feel welcome! Don't get here as much as we like, but it's worth it when we do.

Fantastic Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday. A lovely pub with a wonderful landlord and landlady who made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be returning.

Fantastic pub! My family & I (5 of us) had a great night watching Wales play in the pub, then we came again for Sunday Lunch the next day! 2 courses for £12.50 each - and well worth it, the best Sunday lunch we’ve had! Lovely owners and a friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a lovely meal & drinks. Thanks the Horse and Jockey for making our stay a little bit more memorable!

Good food and good Friendly people

Stopped over for 1 night stay , had a couple of drinks,on the first night , social distance measure throughout the pub ,so we felt quite safe , we pitched up in the car park with elec hook up £12 , very good value , we stayed for Sunday lunch which was lovely, its usually buffet style but because of covid it was brought to your table, 2 courses for £12 , excellent value , overall a very friendly welcome, so thanks Peter and diane and lola the dog 🐕 😀

Friendly, but not adhering to the Corvid 19 situation with the hygiene side - chairs were dirty with food crumbs. Food basic & served in polythene packs with plastic cutlery that wouldn't cut a Jelly.. Maybe it's just 'todays' situation.. 😏

Quite a quaint pub, friendly. Plenty of drink options. Was only there to watch my son in a pool match, but very nice surroundings. Lovely beer garden and good parking facilities.

Dunno about the pub but the campsite is mostly run down permanant caravans where people live. Absolute basic setup and no frills. Spend the extra and go Mellington Hall. We did :)

Very basic and shower blocks a disgrace.we pulled up and drove back out after checking out the shower blocks,there was no way we could use them

Here for Sunday roast carvery, had enormous joint of beef and huge turkey breast, had very generous helping of both and loaded my plate with all the trimmings. Both meats were mouthwatering, great atmosphere. Great to see comfortable armchairs and sofas in front of a real log burner stove, wonderful

Called by for a coffee, met landlord David who is a very talkative host. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit onto Newtown.

Quick lunch whilst en route to Aberystwyth. Had a lovely sandwich. Lots of filling and very reasonably priced.

Real ale pub with bar, lounge and dining room. Pool table. Bar snacks. T.v. for football, rugby etc.

The Landlord is always welcoming, the drinks are great and the food is ideal. Nice pool table. Camp site available too.

Great country pub. Excellent range of real ales which are rotated regularly. Superb Sunday carvery with a choice of meats & a nice selection of meals on the menu from a Wednesday onwards. Very much recommend a visit if you’re in the area seeking a proper traditional country pub.

Great place. Great ales and cider and of course, Sedge the landlord!! If you love proper pubs then this is the place for you.

Great crew, great welcome, always busy on a Sunday lunchtime for their ever popular carvery, but will always try to go that extra mile if possible. I use this place regularly, if it wasn't good, there are other choices, I don't use them - say no more!!

Surprised they couldn't do 2 latte coffees because wife was making roast dinner considering no one in pub at 12 noon. The patio area needs a good clean up. Tables and chairs would benefit from a wipe down. Water bowl for dog was dirty. Did not stay for lunch as first impressions not good.

Camping for 2 nights. Ground a little rocky to get the awning pegs in. Decided to eat in pub, wonderful welcoming reception. Good honest pub grub. Will come again.

Been on this site a long while. Great site with a great pub on site run by a lovely family. The locals are all very welcoming. both the site and pub have great atmosphere. Great place for families.
