Absolutely delicious fish and chips! Best we've had in years. Very reasonable prices, pensioners special was £5.80 which is what we had, bargain! Would come here again!

Food made to order, some good deals depending on the day . Great tasting food

Think I made the mistake of going here late afternoon and may have got the reheated chips from lunchtime. Everything was that little bit too oily. Shame really as I have been here before and got excellent fish and chips.

Been a couple of times.. First time everything was great , food, service and atmosphere.. but last two times the food wasn't up to standard, chips was not cooked and soggy, curry sauce was watery.. service was slow and there was no atmosphere.. its a shame cause it could be a good food outlet..

Just had takeaway medium fish and chips, mushy peas, and curry sauce. Food was great. Nice white fish in crispy batter. Not greasy, decent portions, and good price. Will definitely be back.

Our first and last visit! The large cod was frankly awful. A horrible rubbery texture with no taste except for stale cooling oil. Clearly not freshly battered fish. Chips were OK except for the taste of stale oil. Fish & chip boxes stained in horrible thick brown residue. We were very disappointed and will never visit again.

Fish & Chips were great. Ordered a bottle of water, but told they had run out, given tap water which was room temperature, and still charged for a bottle of water!

Waited ages and chips were soggy and greasy!

Visited here for the first time yesterday . Ordered sausage & chips and was really nice good portion size and super tasty will definitely be returning. The gentleman serving was so welcoming . Thankyou

What a shame! Ate here last year and we were really looking forward to our chippy tea. Living in Whitby are pretty spoilt when it comes to fish & chips but we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and portion sizes. Called in on Tuesday and wish we hadn't, frozen, greasy, supermarket pre-battered fish portions all fried in dirty burnt oil. Had a word as the owner had been so pleasant on our last visit. He couldn't have cared less. Disgusting food & attitude, stay away!

Gone well down hill since he took over! Last year was great, used to be freshly cooked chips and nice chunky fish. Now, frankly it was foul. Got shorted on the recent order, and he is now using what looks like Iceland type store bought pseudo fish instead of fillets. Clearly old oil. My wife rang to check if he'd changed supplier and to politely say we hadn't received correct order.... ( as we were planning to order a stack for tonight and wanted some reassurance that Tuesday's yuk offereing was maybe an off night) he could not have been less bothered. Pretty much a 'so what' attitude. Order at your peril.

6 hrs since I ordered then ate fish n chips and can still taste burnt oil and smell it on the clothes I've taken off.!! .

Wow wow wow! This was possibly the best fish and chips I’ve had in my life! I’ve been here a few times since the new guys have taken over and it hasn’t always been great… but I spoke to the boss and he said he’d made some changes, and boy was he right! The fish was outstanding, the chips delicious and the curry sauce out of this world! Will be recommending to everyone

The best local chips by far. Every day, there is a different special offer. The fish is cooked to order and you can eat in if you like. Lots to choose from on the menu and there's even a loyalty scheme (not that they really need it because the quality food makes you want to go back) Well done Guys, I'll be back!

Poor service. Ordered on line, still waiting 25 minutes in the shop. Several items not available after all so went to the other chip shop. Many people waiting a long time for walk in orders as online taking priority. The reviews and pictures are for the previous owners. The shop changed hands in 2022 and has gone down hill from then.

Really horrible food, sorry nothing personal but probably the worst chip shop I’ve ever been too. The Pukka pie tasted like it had been warmed up five times and was 12 years old. The cod was greasy and taste less, even our dogs refused it!!!! The large chips were sparse and horrible. The curry sauce was ok. We wish we had read the reviews before ordering. What a waste of money!

Too good to go last couple of bags disappointing. We only order because we are a 100 miles away and its good when we get there late

Not like it used to be. Fish was tasteless and soggy. Curry sauce was very thin and also tasteless. Will stick to other chip shop in llani which is much, much better. Only tried because opened slightly earlier.

Nowhere near as good as it used to be. Large chips & large fish ordered, got home I couldn't believe what I saw, nowhere near enough chips, could still see the bottom of the box, large fish was only half of the portion, mostly batter. In the past this would easily feed 2 of us, it felt like a snack, not a meal!!

Dropped in today whilst driving home to Norwich from Pembrokeshire for Fish, Chips and curry sauce. The staff were a lovely friendly bunch who made my fish fresh. The food was delicious and 10/10 but the best but was it was a mini cod but it was perfect size for me. Loved the food being served in a box all for £6.50 absolute bargain. Thanks guys I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area. Ps even your toilet was clean and smelt nice. 😊 your boss should be proud of you all. A great first impression 👍🏻

Been a couple of times now. Great food and friendly staff. Little specialities like the battered pig in blanket at Christmas and battered cream eggs at Easter are wonderful

Many of the reviews are for the previous owners. Ordered on line. Many items out of stock. Went to shopcto collect. Order was 30 minutes later than we were told. More items out of stock soon refunded. Portions smaller than they used to be

Mediocre at best. Almost certain (we visited on Sat lunchtime) we were served last night's chips. Not great at all. About quarter of one portion inedible at all. Other Llani chippy is far, far superior

Fantastic little chippy, chips were spot on and lovely batter on both the fish and sausage. Friendly quick service and great value too. Even finished off with a battered mars bar to take out 😆

Let's start with the positive. The food was OK. The chips weren't very warm but I did eat my meal. However. I waited over 30 minutes for my food despite there being only three customers; it was a bog standard order really. They prioritise pre ordered food over those standing directly in front of them. I was also witness to an event that upset me. The owner took a complaint from a customer over the phone. On hanging up the phone he proceeded to mock sed person in front of me. Little did he know, I knew the person and reported back to them immediately. It was wildly unprofessional and plain rude, for this reason he will no longer receive my custom.

Food was pretty poor, fish was reasonable ( not brilliant by any means), chips and peas weren't even luke warm. Staff were courteous and nice, but definitely won't be going back.

Had the pleasure of eating in this fantastic little chippy. Amazing family run , great staff, good value and most of all fantastic food!! By far the best in town

I have used this Chip Shop several times and last year it wasn’t very good but it has recently changed hands. The service and food is now excellent. I don’t normally eat mushy peas but they have Home made mushy peas and they were a nice colour and flavour. The cod was cooked fresh and again a good texture. The chips were really nice. Not greasy at all. They offer vegetarian options too. I used the online ordering option and it was ready to pick up quite quickly. The new staff are helpful and friendly. If you haven’t been for a while its definitely worth returning.

Stayed at Red Kite Caravan Site .ordered Fish and Chips Delivered on time and the food was hot and very tasty. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED.

Eaten as a takeaway at a local touring park. Worst fish and chips we've ever eaten,most of the chips were bad IE black. The one fish looked like it had been cooked 3 times! If I owned or managed this site I would not recommend this place at all. Really bad!!!

This has been the worst fish and chip we have ever eaten, my son loves fish and all he could eat was the mushy peas, batter was thick, not cooked inside (raw) 🤮 burnt on the outside with no fish inside. Hope this was just a bad day for you!!!!!

Absolutely rubbish . Got home to over done chips ,batter on my fish that looked like it had never been changed ,hardly any fish inside & definitely not cod . No drink was given with the kids meals ,even he didn't eat the chips ,which says something. Such a shame as used this chippy regularly before changing hands . Couple of customers lost . You really need to up youre game .

Amazing chicken breast and chips. Only let down was the mushy peas had an odd taste. Otherwise was perfect. Everyone loved their food. Thanks for a great meal.

Everything you want from a chippy

I have visited this chip shop whenever I am in the area. The food is first class and the staff are brilliant. The portions are very large but quality is not compromised. I recommend the a large cod and the saveloy sausages. Note that a large portion of chips will be enough for a family of 4. Highly recommended.

If you like small portions and soggy chips you'll love it here, and if you want to eat in they will charge you an extra £2.20 (which they don't tell you) for someone to walk 10 paces and serve you. UNBELIEVABLE.!!!!!!

Cooked to order, fresh as you like! Staff were so lovely, even gave us directions to a local supermarket & cooked our order for when we came back - great service. We decided to eat in on a rainy Tuesday night after having a couple of beers at the local pub. The staff were so nice and welcoming, we opted for the fish chips bread and butter and a cup of tea. It was delicious and probably one of the best chippy teas we’ve had in a while. We can definitely recommend.

Fish, chips and mushy peas were perfect to our taste and we're pretty choosy with our chippies. The large portion is exactly as stated, large. As you would expect with a chippies of this calibre they're busy so it may be a good idea to pre-order if you can. Definitely a top chippy, one to visit when we're in this area again.😊

great service as my daughter is ceoliac, they went the extra mile and cooked a plain piece of fish seperately to make sure there was no cross contamination with any gluten. Food was lovely too.
