We visited today as we were out on the bikes. After an hours ride to get there we got a table and went inside to order food and a drink. We were then told food would be about 30min wait. We said that was fine, we were then told that it was likely they wouldn’t be able to serve us any food even if we wait any 30mins. A little disappointed we asked to get some cold drinks and were told sorry they are too busy and short staffed to do any drinks. In the time it was taken to say this, they could have done 3 cold drinks. We were told Morrisons was around the corner though so to go there! Having run a family owned restaurant I appreciate finding staff is hard but I’ve never experienced a welcome like this before. We went here because we had heard good things, I won’t be in a rush to return.

Still a great spot for breakfast or lunch. Go at random times a year, once a year for many years, so have a good view on the standard. Yes, they employ youngsters as servers, but this is a local employer, employing local youth. They are busy, nearly all year round, the food is good quality (bacon especially) and the cakes are excellent. They serve pretty quickly and good turns up relatively rapidly depending on how busy they are. From walking in to eating (2 mini, one full breakfast and cake to go) took around 15 mins, which is good in my experience. The toilets are kept very clean and given they are visited by multiple hikers throughout the day, is a great sign. The only negative, is I like tea that's so rich in tannins, that it bites back, which they don't quite have. But that's getting really picky. Good with kids, dog friendly but considerate rules apply (my kids don't like dogs, but the owners in there were very responsible), great food, amazing cakes. Despite some comments below, I'd say they've still "got it". If you're going hiking in Brecon or heading home after, they are still the place to drop into. Just buy a cake slice, you'll regret it if you don't.

Sorry Honey Cafe honesty is best policy but we were'nt at all impressed when we visited yesterday morning.Seated at a table full of previous diners dirty dishes eventually cleared away by the most miserable looking lad who could'nt even be bothered to acknowledge us even when we said good morning and thank you for clearing table....and then he did'nt bother wiping table over we had to go ask for it to be done. The queue system for ordering food & drinks was very slow(4 in front of me).The young lady taking orders was very pleasant and polite.....The wait for food after ordering was painful a good 20minutes....So our drinks were gone long before food arrived and looking at queue could'nt be bothered to queue for more. Though food would be special after such a long wait alas it was average. Really think owners should review process's...not ideal forming a queue next to folk who are dining, and boy is it a slow process with no one supervising or managing it.Technology may help to order and pay at Tables maybe. Don't like leaving negative reviews however our experience was a poor one. Good luck

Friendly staff , beautiful scenery, this is the very old building partly post office as well as a cafe. Meals are fairly expensive. I had a full English breakfast which consisted of one slice of bacon, two sausages, two hash browns, two slices of white bread and a very small egg cup size of beans with a pot of tea for one which came two just under £14, which I thought was expensive for what I got. There is plenty of parking places right outside.

Such a lovely cafe with great cakes. The spicy honey cake was really good. So was the Welsh cake. We had the honey late which sounded better than it tasted. It was a late with some honey basically. There is plenty of parking space and the place is not particularly busy on a Friday afternoon. We did not get a chance to try the food from the breakfast or lunch menu. I would absolutely love to go back someday and see what they have to offer. They had a cute sign that said they were having a lot of trainees, but they all did great. I’ve never seen Welsh cakes as big as they had them in this cafe. They had one flavor only which was the original raisins she said. Very beautiful and yummy.

When we arrived we were told that they weren’t sure if they’d be serving food at all and if they did it wouldn’t be until 2pm. The staff were disinterested. At 2pm the staff were still unsure if food orders would be taken. After explaining that we’d travelled almost an hour, our order was taken. I received the wrong meal. Very disappointed. Sadly disappointed but what a beautiful place and the tiny toilet was novel for little ones. My husband and I had the pie which was more like a hame and leek slice you get from a shop. It’s been awhile since we’d eaten chips! They were rather nice. Slow delivery of meals and I do understand there was a staffing issue but it did seem excessive. My biggest bug bear regarding the restaurant industry is when staff bring food to the tables only to turn around and go back to the kitchen empty handed. We had to clear our table and the one for our other friends. If you’re going back take something back with you. Parking was great especially as we were on motorbikes. A few of the group had cakes which they did say was wonderful. Beautiful place sadly dissatisfied with a few things.

They stopped serving food at 4 pm, so we were there just in time. Staff were friendly and helpful. After thoroughly checking what they could put together for me, taking my Dairy Allery into consideration, I had a few choices and decided on chicken ranch taco/wrap with fresh avocado and a lovely zingy salsa. I got 3 filled wraps, my mum had the big crunch, and again, it was freshly made to order... 3 wraps that she said were delicious, both cost £15.90 altogether. The cakes looked tasty, proper homemade! Purchased some honey (454g) from the selection there as well (£6.95)... yummy 😋 Very reasonably priced food for the amount you get and the care they give, putting it all together. Dogs are welcome. HoneyPot Coffee Shop Castle Gresley, United Kingdom Expensive for what you get. We went on the bank holiday Monday, very popular cafe with bikers, in fact it was full of bikers to the point where I had to queue for 15mins just to have a pee bcuz there was 5 bikers Infront of me who bought 1 cuppa and needed the loo. The food we had was tasty, I had the tomatoe & basil soup, it comes with a thick slice of bread, it would of been nice to have some butter on the bread! We also had onion rings which where very nice and a portion of chips, if you could call it a portion, they came in a tiny dish and must of been 10 thin chips in them (you get more fries at any fast food outlet) My partner had a cheese & coleslaw sandwich, I would of thought for the price it would of come with a few crisps & maybe a garnish but no! It was literally just the sarnie on the plate. We both had a coffee each and when they came I thought we were on a water shortage! The small cups where only half full, I was just about to tell the waitress that we ordered americano and not espresso. We paid £30 for a cheese sandwich, a bowl or tomato soup, 5 onion rings and a handful of chips (that's being generous) and 2 coffee's, at that price tag I would of thought some butter on the bread a few crisps & garnish on the sandwich would of been appropriate. Nice place but definitely run to make the biggest profit they can, shame really as it's a nice little cafe.

Hubby and I stopped here for a break whilst on gallery deliveries from Yorkshire. The Honey Cafe is easy to find on a little turn off just on the edge of the village. There is plenty of free parking right outside. There is a large outside seating area as well as a very cosy interior café decorated with pretty local artwork. The menu is full of great suggestions and everything sounded delicious, but we only had a short window of time and so opted for tea and toast. The weather was cool, but outside was bright and the view of the snow topped mountains was beautiful so we sat and enjoyed watching the red kites circling above with one even doing a close flyby as we ate! The bill was just £11.80, which was very reasonable and the chatty friendly staff were very helpful too :) We are very happy to have found this little gem and will happily call again next time we are in the area :)

Wednesday night is a great night. Curry, side and a pint for £12.95. Tillie waited on us and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, tasty, fresh and piping hot. We had poppadoms and chutneys etc. King prawn bhunas, and 2 naans. Jess the landlady made us very welcome.
