We were so excited to find this place on our travels and we really don't know why we were treated so rudely by the young lady with the blonde ponytail. We were respectful and even said what a wonderful shop it was but we can honestly say we have never been treated like that before. She ignored every word we said and seemed to hate serving us, I was half expecting to have my food thrown in my face. I'm sure all the ladies are not like this but we left saying to each other that we would never return.
Y Bwyty Bach Restaurant Tretower Court and Castle, Crickhowell, NP8 1RF, United Kingdom, Wales
We popped in for lunch after a visit to Tretower Castle. Unexpected delight. The food choices were great, many options. It was delicious food and beautifully presented. The staff were all friendly. We were sitting outside as we had our dog with us, but were told it was fine to bring him upstairs as it looked like it might rain. Proper food made by a proper chef.
Stopped on way to holiday destination
Contacted the owner via Facebook who was great at giving me info about where to park and what time they would be open etc
Good points:
Nice homemade food
Fresh
Lovely location and garden
Reasonable prices
Friendly owner
Cakes looked lovely
Great children’s area with Lego / toys
Toilet clean and tidy
Room for improvement:
As the only person working things took a bit longer, the poached eggs were over cooked and toast for breakfasts came at the end when everyone had finished eating so bit pointless
But it’s …. Still a nice place and I’d come again
We stayed here with our two dogs for one night prior to attending the Welsh Kennel Club Champ Show. Our room was really well equipped and very nicely laid out, and very clean. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. The full english breakfast was spot on, and they went out of their way to ensure it was ready for us promptly as we had to head off to the show. We will definitely stay here again.
Avoid if you want decent beer - real ale was badly kept. If you want a good quality pint go to The Duke's Arms instead ( Camra Member - Rochdale, Oldham, Bury)
Another wonderful meal & evening at the Buck, lovely fresh food, service amazing, nothing too much trouble and lots of different gins to accompany our meal. Would highly recommend to couples, families or anyone who wants high quality food and drink at a fair price!
Highly recommended, great place to spend some relaxing time drinking delicious coffee or eating tasty food! Check out their interesting and eclectic events!
Came here for some lunch with my sister. We both had the tuna jacket potatoes. Plenty of toppings and a lovely meal overall. Staff very attentive. Got some lovely cannolis from the show downstairs too.
Lunch time treat and what a treat foid Excellent had the salad with chicken coupons with salad also scampi with salad so fresh tasting service brilliant friendly caffi will be going again
Went for a family meal and was not disappointed.
Lovely atmosphere inside, staff were very attentive and the food was amazing!
We will definitely be returning.
Just googling to see if they're open...on way to a regular breakfast treat. Easy parking. Great local shop for essentials on way into the caffi...well laid out unpretentious tables and a large menu to choose from. Food usually arrives without a long wait, and we have yet to find any fault with it. Been breakfasting here for years now...delighted that they are still dishing up tasty food at a very reasonable cost. Good coffee too :-)
