Came here for some lunch with my sister. We both had the tuna jacket potatoes. Plenty of toppings and a lovely meal overall. Staff very attentive. Got some lovely cannolis from the show downstairs too.

Walked in to be greeted by lovely staff. The shop downstairs is well stocked with some lovely Welsh produce. The cafe is upstairs again lovely polite staff. The food I will not return to eat there again. We ordered toasties. I had a cheese and tomato. Very disappointing. The bread, cheese coleslaw were all cheap supermarket produce with no taste. A tasteless meal. My husband meal had no flavour to it either. I would rather pay more and have a tastier meal.

Very pleasant atmosphere and service. Really excellent food! My wife and I had sandwiches and coffee. My sandwich (Mediterranean Feat) was one of the most delicious sandwiches I have ever had.

The owner of this cute little deli with a cafe upstairs has invented my favourite ever sandwich. Its a mini Sunday dinner consisting of roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, carrots, and sprouts between two doorstop-sized pieces of bread and drenched in rich gravy. Pure genius and all for £8.95.

Popped in for sandwiches to take up the hill. Based on the discussion behind the counter they seemed a little confused about how to make their own listed sandwiches - but they did a great job - very well filled and tasty. A bit odd to pack a little cup of crisps (to get loose and get soggy) - rather than just offering a bag of crisps (between two if they only have bigger bags). Price £8 a sandwich take away seemed a little punchy - same as sit in - maybe offer a discount take away - most places do for the good reason that overheads and staff costs are lower…

Visited this hidden away jewel of a place where breakfast and lunch are served. Food was tasty and service was attentive but not intrusive. Today was our first visit and we will return for more. The Deli downstairs is a visual delight with plentiful choices.

We are on holiday in the area and called in for lunch. I am coeliac and the ladies could not do enough for me. I had Steak and Philly salad - absolutely delicious. The lady in the kitchen even made me my own dish of french dressing. All of the sandwiches were offered as salads so a different and varied selection available. There were a number of gf options for scrummy sweet treats on offer in the deli. Cannot praise enough.

Brilliant sandwich called the rambler and really good coffee. Relatively cheap and a real home pantry feeling will be visiting again.

Really nice deli with great choice of meats cheese bread and tasty snacks. My only negative is the assistants handle food without gloves and don’t wash their hands. At the very least they should wash hands after taking cash or card payment.

What a gem of a place! Fab lunchtime sandwiches on the most perfect chewy, crusty, tasty homemade bread. Great deli full of delicious stuff, much of it Welsh-produced, plus some amazing little Italian pastries. Friendly welcome too. Loved it.

Amazing bakery and deli find in Brecon! So pleased we came across this place, tucked down a little side street and also serving proper coffee. We met the owner who bakes everything herself, and the care and quality of the food is obvious. They serve ASTOUNDING quiches (best quiche I've ever had), pasties and everything you could need for your lunch. There's even little messages pushed into the pastry around the pasties. The veggie options were varied and tasty, and it was so good we went back every day to get lunch to take away on our walking break. This place is a real gem. They do breakfasts and lunches as well as things to take away, but we just headed there for coffee and lunches. Can't recommend highly enough. Love it.

Well what a perfect little find for my lunch! Was walking past here on the way back to my car starving hungry. Saw a quirky written chalk board so decided to pop in. Was greeted by two lovely ladies behind the counter that advised me to have the special of the day! The greedy pig!! I got it and headed back to the car and tucked in! Oh my gosh it was absolutely stunning! Ladies you have a good little place there! Can’t wait to head back!

We stopped at Brecon for lunch on the way to a holiday stay in Tenby and were lucky enough to find the Counrty Kitchen. The owner was most welcoming and suggested we try her lamb Welsh Oggies ( like a Cornish Pasty but better) and they were truely sensational. Absolutely worth a stop just for the Oggie! We topped up with a scrummy desert for afters. We sat in the courtyard at the front of the Country Kitchen premises. Highly recommended

Driver couldn't find house, went wrong way up one-way street and made me stand outside waiting for him to collect through the car window. The tandoori beef tasted so strongly of fish it went to the bin. no sauce, no poppadum, awful quality food
