We visited this cafe based on other reviews we had read. We were not disappointed. The cafe is very comfortable with a lovely atmosphere and a mixture of locals and tourists were visiting. Sarah was especially helpful and the food was tasty and fresh. We would certainly visit here again.

Best caffi in Mach, hands down. Had a lovely lunch (quiche and salad, with plenty of options to choose from). Leave room for some home made bara brith! The cakes are spectacular. The staff are great too.

Lovely warm and comfortable lunch stop today. Very busy with a mix of locals (always a good sign) and visitors. Staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient despite being rushed off their feet. Food freshly cooked, plentiful and tasty and very good value. Well done all.

Cafi Glyndwr was welcome stop on a bike tour of North Wales on a Monday morning in February. Open at 9am ( when many other were closed ) warm and welcoming with a log burner blazing away and friendly staff, we enjoyed a full cooked breakfast with tea and toast for £9 each. The staff were welcoming and helpful and there’s an excellent range of specials and a standard menu too plus lots of home baked cakes. The Cafi is located in a historic building dating back to the 1400’s. Definitely worth a visit and less touristy than some of the venues closer to the town centre and crossroads.

Visited with family, during a trip to the local area. We opted for a light lunch which consisted of soup and bread. The soup was delicious, clearly home made .Served with a hearty cob

In my first Cymraeg course, many of the students came from the Powys area and the surrounding areas. Caffi Alys (as it was known then) was famous for being both unapologetically Cymraeg-speaking and learner-friendly - I've heard many success stories of learners making their first ever food order here and getting over that language hurdle. When I first was in the area in January for my exam, I was sad to hear Alys had closed as I'd been looking forward to making a detour to drop in. Now I'm in the area again, I found out Glyndwr is in its place, and I knew I wanted to visit! It's not quite in the thick of the main high street, but not difficult to find - just next door to the Owain Glyndwr centre (naturally). The cafe itself is quite small but cheerful, colourfully decorated and clean, everyone was in good spirits and it was great to eat and take in the atmosphere while hearing Cymraeg all around. The menu is simple, wholesome food and the prices are very reasonable: I had a cheese sandwich with accompanying salad and crisps, a tea, and a Welsh cake (with butter) for around £9. Not bad at all. If you're coming to Mach for similar reasons, or if you find yourself in the area, I can definitely recommend coming here for a fuel stop.

Warm and efficient welcome, simple but varied menu, wonderfully airy space. Unmistakably Welsh. All day breakfast was generous portions, as was the homemade vegetable soup. Didn't have any of the cakes but they looked deliciously homemade too.

Great place to stay. A friend and I cycled to the area and stayed here overnight. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. The room is a generous size with all the facilities you would want, and you have access to an outside deck area with lounge chairs and table which is ideal on a sunny day. The breakfast was also lovely. The location was great as it’s a 5 min walk from 2 good pubs and a post office/shop

Mother’s Day lunch … I can honestly say that was the best roast beef dinner I’ve had …. Vegetables cooked to perfection and a Yorkie like a hotair balloon 🎈 desert was also delicious! The staff were excellent and attentive, not overpriced for our 2 course meal and will definitely be returning x Thankyou … what a lovely place, lovely food and lovely staff 😃

A lovely old pub. Staff were friendly. They have HPA on tap, which is nice. It just had a really nice feel to it. We've decided it'll be our local when we are at our holiday home. 👍🏻

Mock timber frame manor house retaining much of its character and charm. No lifts. Breakfast was choose your own pre-packed cereals with a cooked option. Dinner was a mini-taster with delicious options which we watched cooked on TV cameras. The room was clean but dated with an en-suit crammed in. High windows restricted light and views of extensive gardens and river. The staff were friendly and willing but lacked service training. Guests our age do not wish to be called 'you guys'.
