An Edwardian brick wayside inn presented inside in modern "Olde Worlde" Style. As you walk in you feel you have found somewhere nice and as we "Old Uns" used to say "Posh." Pity some of the clientele do not dress up to it. T shirts and shorts spoil the "upmarket ambiance" the proprietor has tried to create. We had been here twice before and been thoroughly satisfied with everything. The room, the presentation, and the service were as before. We ordered Sunday roast which came quickly and looked lovely on arrival but when we started to eat it we found it only luke warm. Being hungry we persevered. BUT by the time we were half way through it was stone cold and we all pushed it to one side and left it. Why on earth do restaurants do this these days??? - present hot food that is only luke warm. I have had to complain time and again about this. It is a complete insult to the customer. Besides being a thorough waste of food, time and money. We complained to the waitress who was sympathetic but did nothing about it , asked us if we wanted sweets and went off. 5 minutes later a lady in black - presumably the head waiter/tress came and just stood by our table in silence and stared at us. No mention of our complaint. We just assumed she had come for our dessert order, which she did and off she went. The desserts came quickly and were delightful. It would not have hurt for for to say "I understand you have a complaint - Can I help?". Typical of staff today!! A very mixed performance but no different to many restaurant today - eating out in this country is a complete lottery. Especially when you have told parents and friends what a splendid place it is then have to spend all afternoon apologising. As I always shout at up and coming sportsmen and women on TV, to be a champion you have to be consistently good. One good match does not make a champion. You might as well try it but be prepared for failure. Remember if you try anywhere else it won't necessarily be any better. We will not be going back now. Too unpredictable.

We visited on a busy Saturday afternoon and even though we hadnāt booked we were able to get a table. The staff are excellent. We had the fish and a burger and onion rings. All good was hot and delicious. The fish was fresh and served with lovely homemade chips. Cannot fault this place and we will be back. They also have a van outside serving pizza, coffee and light bites. That looks good too. Highly recommend. Dog friendly in the restaurant and bar.

This is a beautiful pub tucked away off the road. It has parking very close too. We felt so welcomed when we arrived and the ladies were lovely. We both had the rump steak which was AMAZING! It was a delicious meal to look at and to eat. Once again, the ladies looked after us so well and we would definitely visit again next time we're in Wales. PS. Did you look up the Flumps?!

Passing through on a biking challenge over the weekend we found this cosy authentic welsh pub. The staff were incredibly welcoming, the beer selection was perfect and they couldnāt do more for us! Would definitely return if in the area again!

My wife and I called into this lovely cafe this morning. We were passing through and happened to spot it. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I had a Latte, and Caramel/Chocolate Shortbread which was very good. The seating area and bathroom facilities were spotlessly clean. Will definitely call in again soon for a bite to eat!

This place is amazing š¤© It is a definite place to eat when you go to Brecon. From the staff, the chutney tray and the food it is lovely. It gets very busy and they do their very best to accommodate walk ins but booking is much easier for all involved. Please visit.

Sunday lunch out. Food was very well cooked and presented. Price was ok due to the high quality of the food. Decent amount of drink options but only 1 ale. Very friendly staff, clean premises and if the weather is good, plenty of out door seating. Dog and child friendly. We didn't camp there but the facilities looked good and quite cheap.
