We stayed here with our two dogs for one night prior to attending the Welsh Kennel Club Champ Show. Our room was really well equipped and very nicely laid out, and very clean. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. The full english breakfast was spot on, and they went out of their way to ensure it was ready for us promptly as we had to head off to the show. We will definitely stay here again.

Good atmosphere and tasty food. Hadn’t booked, but made to feel very welcome on a busy evening. It was a bonus to browse through a few shelves of books available for a donation to Help for Heroes while we awaited our food, which arrived very promptly and with a smile. Just what we needed after a long day at The Royal Welsh Show.

A perfect place for a refreshing HPA and cheeky tikka masala. When it’s a Friday night everyone needs a chilled out place with straightforward food and a beer. Staff relaxed and knowledgeable- can’t fault a no frills pub. Love it.

Very friendly pub with a great atmosphere. Food typical “pub grub” but well cooked. Lots of parking and a lovely view. It’s on a busy road so watch out for the car park turning but served a good pint. Landlord and staff are friendly and knowledgeable and dogs welcome

Eat at short notice with family including small children. Amazingly welcoming and brilliant with the children. The food was excellent with superb service and there was a really good choice particularly as some of us are vegetarian. Very good value for money and good beer too.

We were camping locally and the harp in has been recommended to us and was within easy walking distance of where we were staying. We arrived at the pub on a Saturday evening around 830 with the intention of having one drink and then returning back to the campsite We found the pub welcoming and friendly. Shane? The barman was particularly cheery and friendly and was happy for me to try several of the local Isles before ordering a pint. We ended up actually eating here as the menu looked so good and we were not disappointed I certainly hope to return to this pub again at some point.

My sister, niece and I stayed at the Harp inn whilst on a Free Rein holiday. The welcome we received was warm and welcoming. The rooms were lovely clean and well equipped. With comfortable beds and great showers. We ate in the pub, the service was good and the food was very good and to a high standard. We had a full English breakfast in the morning with all you could want in a breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

Harp In is a friendly B&B with pub and very friendly owners and such a great local atmosphere. We had great time to exploring around, Black Mountains, Castles, river Wye walk, hills, peaks...Amazing. Our room was clean and freshly decorated we had room from side of street with 2beds. Room will have what you needs, comfy beds, clean carpet, kettle, tea, coffee, hairdryer, towels, toiletories. Fitted wardrobe with hangers. Modern bathroom with shower. Pub serving great meals and amazing pudding. Good local beer. We played darts too! I Use photos at Google ,so you can check up(unfortunately I deleted it before write this review). And we was able to stroke dog Nolly who come with friendly couple for visit. Dog friendly. Families friendly. Walkers, hikers, couples, solo travellers , book-lovers -friendly. As it is old building floor is a bit uneven at room, it wasn't issue for me. Low cealing for tall people(not me)-so in our room my partner need mind his head(too tall guy!). Would definitely back to explore area more, and stay in.

Went out for lunch today and ended up in the Harp Inn. As we went in was greeted by a very friendly chap behind the bar who mentioned he’d only been there a few weeks (to the owners, he’s a keeper!) 😀 Had a delicious lamb cawl and would highly recommend this dish. Wonderful pub, good friendly service and we will certainly be back.

Popped in on the off-chance Sunday lunchtime and what a great find for a bite to eat. Home-made Steak and Ale pie was delicious and prices very reasonable too. Staff were very friendly, plenty of parking and great views of the river Wye which is just a stone's throw away. We only live 15 minutes away but had never eaten there before, we will definitely be visiting again soon.

We had a group of six of us and they looked after us superbly. It was in Covid restrictions so table service but it was great. The landlord and landlady were lovely, the staff were really happy and friendly. The food was delicious - proper pub food. I had the pie which was great. We had also asked them to organise us a taxi beforehand as we knew we would be imbibing in the wine menu and they were so flexible it was great. Cannot recommend highly enough. Prices were standard pub food prices.

A delightful overnight stay at the Harp InnA warm welcome from the owners and nothing was too much trouble. The room overlooked the Wye River. The best nights sleep we had in a long with the aid of a very comfortable bed and if that wasn't enough, a lovely continental breakfast of warm crossiants, pain au chocolat, tea and toast with preserves. Excellent value for money!!!! Thanks for a wonderful stay x

Delicious food, homecooked from the taste! I had the steak with mushroom sauce, and the sauce was to die for, steak was cooked to perfection. My fiance had the pie of the day, and we both agreed that the pastry was so flaky and light, the steak and ale sauce was delicious and the little pieces of beef were so tender! For pudding I had sticky toffee pudding with custard, which again was absolutely delicious. Nothing went wrong really. All the staff members were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning if we go to Wales again!Definitely recommend booking though as the seating is very limited.

New owners trying to give it a go. Decent pub grub after a long hunt for lunch, we pulled in here and was so grateful for a pint and a hot meal. The pie was nice, and the chicken nice. Won’t knock your socks off but basic pub food with a smile. They’ve got a new coffee machine and were trying it out so if you’re on a walk or passing by and need a break, it’s worth popping in especially as theres not much open during the day around the area.

Booked for group of 15 while staying at Valley Yurts nearby. Were told they were only just starting to serve food and had a simple menu but we pre-ordered our meals ahead of the trip. The pub looks in need of serious updating. Not a quaint olde worlde pub, just looks like it has not been updated since 1973. Dodgy carpets, mismatched chairs, benches and tables (sticky tables!) and an electric heater cut in to the wood chip wall that looked like a fire hazard. Our group had a range of meals including curry, pies, pizza, fish and chips and scampi. Might be wrong but nothing felt home made (except the chips) and sachets of sauce on the table again felt like a throw back and would be more at home at a roadside cafe than a pub offering evening meals. On the plus side, service was polite and they offer a good range of beers. Price of meals was very reasonable but would rather pay more and get nicer decor and better food. Perhaps I am missing the point? In the pursuit of openness and honesty, due to a mix up our group were about 35 minutes late for our 7pm arrival. When we realised we would be late, we rang them (at 7pm) to apologise and advise of our new arrival time. I don’t think this would have affected any of the comments above about the quality of the pub or food.

My partner and I stopped here on the way to Brecon on Saturday due to a recommendation. The barman/manager was so polite and welcoming, a very nice man. We ordered lunch five minutes before they were due to close the kitchen but they said it was completely fine which was really good of them as I know how frustrating that can be. My partner had fish and chips with a side of cheesy garlic bread and said it was lovely. Big piece of fish and garlic bread fantastic. I ordered the ploughmans with a mixture of cheese and ham and it was amazing. The chutney was lovely, I have no idea what the cheese was but it was gorgeous and onion rings were also good. All in all a lovely, friendly place with a good menu. Prices very reasonable too, we paid £25 for the two meals, two sides and a drink each. Would recommend to others going that way and would visit again myself.

We have been visiting The Drover's for around 25 years. As a full Family initially, now just the two of us. Peter and his Team never disappoint. The welcome is always friendly and we do enjoy a modest pre Lunch drink in the cosy snug out the back. The views of the river are spectacular. It was a bit chilly to be sitting outside on the balcony but one brave chap did take his coffee out there! The food, well, you can't call it 'just Sunday Lunch! It's a foodie treat! Plenty of beautifully cooked food. Always hot and tasty. The quality is certainly there as well. Cannot fault anything and the Sweets are to die for! The atmosphere is invariably pleasant. A good mixture of Walkers, Holiday makers and Locals. Thanks so much for everything over the years Peter. We're already in the process of booking next year's trip to Wales, so keep an eye out for an email soon!

Our first time here this morning. From the minute we walked in we was welcomed and seated. All staff were welcoming. Myself and fiancé ordered a full English, food was lovely not one fault and clear plates. I had a cappuccino which was tasty and perfect. We were approached and asked if everything was okay during our meal. We paid with cash and left a tip as we were very pleased. We will definitely be attending again on our next stay.

Great place to stay. A friend and I cycled to the area and stayed here overnight. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. The room is a generous size with all the facilities you would want, and you have access to an outside deck area with lounge chairs and table which is ideal on a sunny day. The breakfast was also lovely. The location was great as it’s a 5 min walk from 2 good pubs and a post office/shop

Mock timber frame manor house retaining much of its character and charm. No lifts. Breakfast was choose your own pre-packed cereals with a cooked option. Dinner was a mini-taster with delicious options which we watched cooked on TV cameras. The room was clean but dated with an en-suit crammed in. High windows restricted light and views of extensive gardens and river. The staff were friendly and willing but lacked service training. Guests our age do not wish to be called 'you guys'.
