The best restaurants in Hay Powys Mid Wales

First and foremost the scenery was exquisite, this little gem under the bridge is the perfect brunch spot. The menu was simple but the chef knows how to combine their foods. Halloumi, Avocado, Bacon, Chilli Jam and Spinach. Phenomenal! The staff were so polite and were genuinely interested in our travel plans and holiday experience. Would 100% recommend if you're looking for a picturesque spot with gorgeous view parallel to it's gorgeous food.

Amazing food! Amazing people! Amazing area! The garlic cheese is to die for. You will not be disappointed Highly recommend.

We were staying in Hay and Drover offer the only charger for electric vehicles in the town (and it's free). They were generous with their suggestions of using it overnight. They sell maps for local road and MTB rides too, so after we'd been out on one, we stopped by for a coffee and cake. They sell energy bars and gels too, if you're stocking up before or during a ride. A very friendly team!

Buonissima!!!! My family came over from Italy to visit us. And guess where I took them for dinner? In Three cockspur to combine excellent pizza and great beer from Antur Brewery. Well, it was a success. Zis Giustina's comment was "It's even better then some pizzas I had in Italy. The base it's excellent and you can really tell they use truly genuine ingredients! Bravissimi."

We love Nonna Caterina, the pasta and flavours are just sublime each week. Such good value. We love our sat night treat - thank you Alison

This is a 5 star place, food is not what you think all made from organic things and the taste is unbelievable if your in Hay on wye you must visit this place. If you don't visit your missing out on an experience

We were welcomed very nicely. Unfortunately we ran out of the salad we actually wanted, but the alternative was still very tasty. We would come again.

The best meal I have had in a long time. We had Surf & Turf & Plaice * chips. Good welcome and will definitely return.

Average bar. The staff had no idea who was next and gave a pretty poor level of service that felt like the customer was an inconvenience. Much better places in the town. Avoid.

What a lovely cheerful place to go. The cafe server/manageress was cheerful. There was music in the background which she lowered as soon as we walked in. It was wet, cold and windy outside but you had a real warm welcome. We went twice in the same day, once when we arrived and then seeing as we had a long journey to our destination we returned for a final cuppa for the trip. Would certainly recommend to friends, family and acquaintances.

Great experience and burgers here. I had dietary requirements of no dairy and no egg but the burger was tailored to exactly to what I could have and didn't feel like I was missing out or compromising on flavour. Really nice and helpful staff. Sides were also top notch

So many unusual and beautiful things here. Some expensive but some pretty affordable. Great for gifts. Retro used stuff great fun

Absolutely fantastic spot. The food is always spectacular and the café itself has a lovely, cosy, intimate atmosphere, especially with the fire on. You can tell that the chefs really care about the food they put on your plate which, in December, is much more than can be said for chain restaurants that will try to use Christmas as a gimmick to take more of your money. You'll want to come here for the homely vibes, the comforting food and the welcoming staff!

This place is one to visit on your way to South Wales, not posh,but if you want good food that's well cooked this is the place.its also very clean.
