This is well worth a stroll to by the river, an oasis only a couple of minutes walk away from the main town area. The gentleman who served us (helping out for the day) was very friendly and we had a nice chat about where we were from and where we were going. He was spot on about the spectacular drive we would have the next day on our way to Anglesey. The coffee was really good, just the pick me up we needed on our travels. Highly recommend as a pleasant coffee stop in Hay on Wye. (And of course there are also books…)

Lovely place to sit surrounded by garden. Our 15 year old said it was the best bacon butty she had ever had, and we felt the same about the cheese toasties. Would be back often if not living in North Yorkshire.

The perfect, off the beaten track spot with excellent coffee and the most delicious sweet chilli sausage rolls. Arrived in a downpour and there was quirky sheltered seating, river views and a wonderful garden. Followed the recommended riverside walk back to town and avoided the hordes - perfection 👍

Gorgeous coffee, cakes and snacks in a beautiful garden above the river Wye. Some shelter including a book shop with a few board games. Vegan options. Sadly no soya milk these days but they do have oat milk. Friendly staff, robins and blackbirds. The garden is only 18 months old but looks very established.

I hate giving a poor review but my experience (Sunday 18th ) proved quite negative, I'm afraid. One man was serving, which given a weekend trade must prove busy. I waited to be served for over fifteen minutes and gave up in the end. Shame the great location did not have the service to match. Richard Sinclair Birmingham

Hidden gem beside the River Wye! Picture perfect setting! Best coffee in Hay according to my other half who found he couldn’t find anything better than an average cup of coffee anywhere around Hay. My cup of tea was very nice too! Open at 9am. Freshly cooked pastries available. Bacon roll man in a separate gazebo added to the joy! Open all day but expect a queue because the word gets around!

The view and ambience right by the river under the bridge are fantastic. The owner is very friendly. The menu selection is very limited-basically 4 grilled cheese sandwiches and one soup of the day. However the quality is outstanding. Perhaps the best grilled cheese sandwiches we have ever eaten. Our table was right in the middle of a beautiful garden. I do not eat cheese so they made my sandwich with vegan cheese which was surprisingly good..
