A diamond in the rough, excellent choice, even better prices, and the staff were fabulous

Great little cafe, and a good stop off if driving through to the coast (a carpark and toilets 1 minutes walk away, just off the main route). Great friendly service - we were rushing through so had quick meals - the breakfasts coming out looked great! Generous portions and good quality. We will stop again next time we are travelling through.

Came to the cafe for a Sunday dinner. Owner made special provisions for us, to stay open later. Proper home cooked meals. Food was absolutely delicious from the dinner to the pudding. Would be back every week if was closer.

Lovely food friendly service great place

Stopped off here earlier today for a bite to eat on our way home. Opted for the all day breakfast with a pot of tea for two ( very generous size pot) breakfast was beautiful. Very tasty, obviously locally sourced sausage, eggs and bacon, cooked to perfection. All of this at a very reasonable price, served up by the most friendly staff. Will definitely visit again if we are in the area. Thank you ladies for the most tasty brunch and friendly service.

Went here with the other half for a little spot on lunch and wow did it hit the spot. The food was cooked perfect and the ingredients were of such a high quality, especially considering the price. The ladies that run place were very inviting and we had a really good laugh with them both. Would highly recommend!

We were staying in Knighton and fancied a good breakfast and wasn’t disappointed. The staff are very friendly, they made us feel very welcome. One of us has a dairy intolerance, the staff took this in their stride, were happy to discuss their products and it was more like being with family. Their butchers sausages and bacon are delicious, their cooking does the butchers produce proud. It’s a very local location but at no point did we feel like an outsider. Amazing, and we definitely want to come back

Stopped here for breakfast. Absolutely delicious good quality local Sausage and bacon. I dont eat egg or black pudding so was given extra bacon and hash browns very accommodating. All our breakfasts were lovely and will definitely return. Service and Staff were lovely and friendly too.

Such a cosy little cafe! We went there for breakfast and they had so many options to choose from! It also has a sticker that it is hiker-friendlt which we love as hikers. The women were super fast and attentive! Make sure to stop there and get a proper breakfast :)

We came here last year and enjoyed cake and coffee so thought it would be good for lunch. Very wrong. My wife's omelette was good. My broccoli bake was 50% potato which is nutritionally very different from broccoli. Our fruit pie for dessert was made with tinned fruit laced with much thickening agent so not a healthy option. The toilet was not clean and the premises were in need of a makeover to tackle all. We were surprised to find no hygiene certificate.

A friendly and helpful team that know how to make an excellent pot of tea! Cakes were very good, and from looking at the menu there seems no end of delicious food available- we may well return for breakfast tomorrow or a roast on Sunday! Really pleased to have found this cafe.

Beat local breakfast hands down. Locally sourced meat, reasonably priced, always consistent and never fails to impress!

I checked this cafe out for a decent cooked breakfast. It did not disappoint, welcoming staff. Quick to the table food and what a breakfast. Perfectly cooked tasty and sausages to die for. During the meal I asked for extras because I wanted to extend my time here. Not problem. Place was busy with happy customers. I will return every time for breakfast anytime. Thankyou black sheep

Ordered milkshake and toasted buttered tea cake from menu. Had to ask for the oilskin table cloth to be cleaned- staff said it needed a proper clean but gave it a wipe to make do. Noticed dried food and dust elsewhere! Milk shake served at room temperature and tea cake ready buttered, didn’t taste like butter. Bit into tea cake to find it hard and unpleasant and turned it over to see underneath burnt black. Looked under the other half and that was scraped of the burnt part - disappointing and unappetising

Me and my family visited this lovely little cafe while we were on holiday last week the owner and staff were so kind and friendly. The food was lovely and the prices very reasonable. We would definitely go back here.

I popped in after a long walk in the area and was treated to some superb home made apple pie and cream with a mug of tea. This cafe is a real gem. I'll be back.

Every time I’m in Knighton I make sure to visit to get the nicest coffee! The staff are always friendly and accommodating even when they are busy!

What a gem of a place this cafe is and a MUST to visit if you are in the area. Unbelievably reasonable prices (too cheap!!), massive portions and exceptional quality, home cooked food (absolutely crazy how tasty the food and cakes are!). All the staff and especially the owner are very friendly, attentive and welcoming which of course adds to the overall positive experience. It’s just a shame that we are on holiday so won’t be able to become a regular at the cafe, however we will definitely be back a few more times before our holiday ends.

Local high quality suasages and bacon make their breakfast way better than most

We came here last year and had to back again. The staff are super friendly and make you feel very warm and welcome. The food is stunning. They use the highest quality products on there breakfast's - I couldn’t fault any of it. We came in for a Sunday Roast as well. The trifle for desert was outstanding and the best I have ever had. You could tell the recipe has been passed down the generations. I have been to Michelin star resultants but I would prefer to come eat here any day. I hope to be back again within the next 12 months.

Thank you for accommodating two starving walkers when nowhere was open for lunch anymore and the cafe was about to close too. Great food, really good value, and served with a smile. Can’t go wrong with this place!

What a fantastic find! The cafe was conveniently located, the food was good and very reasonably priced and they made one of the best coffees I've had in a long time. Lovely people, good service and it was a bonus being dog friendly (they even posted the dog blanket we left behind).

A couple of weeks before hand when passing, we'd asked if we could book a lunchtime table for a group of a dozen or so of our motorcycling friends who annually visit from Hampshire: not a problem, we were assured, they would just ask their regular customers to come in early that day! Although we were about 20 minutes late in the end, we managed to get a mobile signal and let them know we would definitely be there. The service was exceptional: very friendly, very efficient, and all our tasty meals were delivered very speedily. This will definitely be a stop when we do this route through Shropshire/Montgomeryshire again ~ thank you all!

Dropped in again this year whilst on holiday. As amazing as I remembered, the food here is lovely. A real good cooked breakfast, homemade chips( just like my mum used to make!). Nothing is too much trouble! The ladies who work here are lovely and helpful. Can’t praise it enough. Make your way there, you will not be disappointed.

Love this place. It's a must go if your visiting Knighton. The owner is extremely friendly and will chat in quiet periods. The other staff are nice as well but seem to chat amongst themselves. Their first priority is customer orders. Although there is only room available for 16 diners at a time I feel they could have a bigger place and would mainly be full up that's how popular this place is. Quite a few locals go there as well and I feel they treat their customers exactly the same whether dining in or for the ones who need delivery. All the food is freshly prepared. The sausages are exceptional and the best I've ever tasted. There is a wide variety of meals available from breakfasts to curries, sandwiches and baguettes, jacket potatoes and Sunday dinners and other meals. All meat and vegetables are locally sourced. I've never had a bad experience there and go there if I can get in when I stay in Knighton due to work. The only thing that could be improved is they need more than one sugar pot and more sauce bottles. Sometimes they are nearly empty. Apart from that everything else is fantastic.

Be aware that dogs are no longer allowed in this café. I have used the café, accompanied by my dog, several times, but this time I was told "the health inspector told me not to". This of course is rubbish because it is entirely up to the person running an establishment, as to whether to allow dogs. The Regency Café in Kington welcomes dogs, as do a couple of cafés in Builth Wells. So I'm afraid I won't be using this café again.

Lovely local cafe with great home cooked food

We stopped here after a Treasure Trail around Knighton. What a great place for food, cake or just a drink. We had Tea and scones and a Luxury Hot Chocolate, the best we have had for a while. Well worth a stop here.

Stopped off for lunch with a friend on the way to visit another friend in Clun. Double egg and chips (one of the eggs was a double-yolker...). Fabulous meal and the two ladies serving were really lovely. No low fat rubbish here, just proper comfort...

We were so looking forward to our breakfast. However, it was 35 minutes before breakfast was served by a young lady with a personality bypass. Cold plates, cold food and no hash browns. Coffee served after 10 minutes was cold by the time food arrived...

Lovely food. Went as it advertised gluten free options. Wow - produced GF sausages which were great and added extra items to make sure I got the value from it. The normal breakfast was as good as it looked according to my husband. Everyone was friendly and it was well frequented by locals. I took away a slice of GF coffee cake as couldn't eat it and it made a tasty treat later.
