Great atmosphere, great food. Good honest pub. One to go back to. I don’t comment very often online about anything but this place has rekindled memories and I fully intend to visit as often as possible, can’t recommend the Pwllgloyw enough.

I can’t decide which was better. The beer or the food. Both amazing Would highly recommend the double dragon Staff very lovely

We visited here after attending a nearby country show. It's a small pub off a main road with a lovely atmosphere. Staff were friendly, and we had no problem getting a table. Our food was good. The only downfall was that all the vinegar pots on the tables were full of little flies! I didn't realise until I poured it over my chips. Which obviously ruined my meal. The waitress apologised and offered a new potion of chips, but I declined as the rest of my group had finished eating by this point. She also took the vinegar bottle away - I just hope they removed the other vinegar bottles off the rest of the tables!

Had a lovely Sunday roast last Sunday. The place is nice, and the staff was friendly. My wife took the vegetarian option (Glamorgan sausage). We were able to eat outside with our dog, very nice experience.

Excellent food. Great service and staff really are very helpful and accommodating. Fudge cake was to die for and chicken nuggets and chips were great as well as the steak and chips. Would recommend and come back.

Visited for a 60th party, the food was exceptional! Proper home cooked chips, loads of meat, we were a large group and all our food came out at the same time. The staff were lovely and there’s great atmosphere in the traditional pub. Highly recommend!

We visited as a large group on a Saturday for drinks. Richard and the team were beyond accommodating and made it a great evening. Absolutely recommend visiting, and will return if I'm back in the area any time soon!

Very basic, food below standard. Everybody vaping in the pub. Kids allowed to crawl all over tables. Not a nice experience at all.

Menu is simple, no-nonsense pub food. All really tasty, enormous portion size for all dishes and cooked fresh. Coleslaw on side was one of the strangest - and the tastiest - variants of it I've ever had! We wished to get pudding afterwards, however we were simply too stuffed to contemplate it. Staff are pleasant and down to Earth. We didn't visit the toilet facilities, so I can't make any comments on that. It is easy enougj to find and reasonable parking available.

We were staying nearby and walked her for dinner. Got asked our drink order right away and assigned a table for dinner without a reservation at 6:00pm Saturday night. We split the ribeye and a whitefish starter plate. The steak was a bit tough but very tasty and a good value. The cheese cake dessert was to die for.

Great village pub with excellent and friendly staff. The food was excellent too on both occasions we eat there.

A really warm welcome in a proper pub. Sunday lunch was exceptional with generous portions of meat, veg and potatoes. Extra gravy came as standard which was a BIG tick in my book. Will be going back!

Came here for Sunday lunch and it exceeded expectations! The food was tasty and generous in its portioning. An abundance of meat, gravy and vegetables. It reminded me of childhoods where the whole family would go to Nan's for a Sunday roast. All home cooked, fresh and delicious. The Staff were really friendly and welcoming which only enhanced our visit further. Will definitely go back!

We popped in for some well earned food and drink, chatted them online and it was great a fast and pleasant response, and the chicken and ham pie was very tasty including the veg and dome amazing tasting chips, thanks guys definitely recommended, Scott.

Visited 7/6 Highly recommend eating here. The bar lady was lovely (around 5ish) and very welcoming. The food was excellent and the chips were absolutely the best I have ever eaten. I had fish which was again excellent and my partner had chicken &ham pie and yes again, excellent!! Worth five stars and more!

The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. We had the best steak since arriving in the UK and the staff were very friendly. We travelled from Australia and thoroughly enjoyed the local pub. Well worth a visit for anyone in the area.

Pub itself is nice, although I believe going through a refurb. The staff were friendly and easy to talk to. The food was a big selling point here. If you're passing, it's defo worth a stop for some food! Highly recommend

I ordered a 10-ounce rump steak, which came with large chips that were cut from a potato. And my wife ordered a burger, which is absolutely delicious. The food here is absolutely 10 out of 10. Can't recommend it enough. The staff were very attentive, extremely polite, would love to come here again

A fantastic family run pub. We were made very welcome when we popped in for a drink. Booked a table for the Saturday night. Had a first class meal. The Rump steak and lamb chops were cooked to perfection. Would recommend to anyone to try this gem of pub out. Thank you to all the team, we will be back. Keep up the hard work.

Had Sunday lunch what wasn’t to like, plenty of it, Yorkshire puddings were huge, beef was lovely & plenty of veg, gravy to go around a table of 12, staff were friendly & helpful. We even had just that bit of room for dessert which was so nice

Lovely staff, the score just reflects the food we had. Unfortunately just ate a few chips and left the rest. The chicken was dirty like the grill had never been cleaned before. It left a charcoal taste in my mouth. Again lovely staff and service but the food.. let’s just say catfish as on their website/trip advisor it looks great..

Had a meal this evening for my husbands 30th birthday, we didn't wait long and the food arrived quickly & was pipping hot. Proper home cooked meal big mention about the amazing home made chips. Great portions size was to full for a pudding. Will definitely be returning. Thank you

What a fabulous find - coming out of Brecon with a lovely Beer garden opposite. Friendly, helpful staff and a big car park. The food was delicious, hot, plentiful and delicious. The staff were polite and efficient and we both thoroughly enjoyed. It got busy as the evening went by and the atmosphere was great - we had a lovely evening and have now eaten here a few times.

Friendly pub for the locals with nice food

Had a lovely evening meal for the family. Everything was fresh and beautifully cooked I can certainly recommend the food.

Lovely food freshly prepared and served quickly. First time in a very long time I couldn't finish a starter and main. The desert I was looking forward to had to be sacrificed!

Amazing Sunday lunch ( eat in or take away) but not only that.. very good selection in regular menu as well as special board. All food home made- even chips! Very friendly and accommodating staff! Good choice of vegetarian dishes. All in all can't fault it ! :)

Had the most amazing 3 course meal here, including their Sunday roast (all three meats offered). Affordable prices for such great quality and quantity. Staff are really accommodating and wonderful atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

Come here every Sunday & always have the very best meal. Not sure what some people are talking about as the whole team cannot do enough for you. Weekday meals are also top quality, fab specials board & the ribs are definitely a must

Showed up right before the kitchen closed and was fed an amazing veg curry and veg burger, with all the trimmings. Everyone was so friendly and professional and the atmosphere was great. They kept the kitchen open in case we wanted dessert and when we ordered one sticky toffee pudding gave us an enormous portion because we were sharing! Kind, lovely, good food - definitely go here, even if you just want a pint!

We went to the Royal Welsh show in Builth Wells and stayed for 5 nights, it's just a 20 minute drive from the showground so was ideal to drive in each day and come back of an evening, the accommodation is basic but has every amenity, breakfast was also included in the price, we ate each evening and the food was of a very good quality and price, service was also very good, we would like to thank Beca , Richard and Nathan the chef , they have not long taken charge of the pub and I think they are doing a great job, well worth a visit if you're in the area, Dave and Carole

We passed this pub a couple of times on our travels from our holiday cottage. Decided to drop in for a much needed decent meal and so glad we did. Lovely warm welcome by these new owners who clearly want to make a success of it. Good honest pub grub but done exceptionally well. The home cooked skin on chips were amazing and we certainly did not leave hungry! Well worth a visit.

ON our way to a family christening and in desperate 'need' of a toilet facility! (we knew the ancient church of ST David's Llandew did not have one...) Not knowing the area, we pulled up in the carpark, and Chef Nathan was outside with his huge friendly hound! He SO kindly let us use the B & B apartment suite. WHAT a delightful B&B suite it is. Would definitely choose to stay here if on a longer trip.

Stopped by last minute on Saturday and had an excellent steak meal. Friendly pub.

We stayed the night using Britstops in our motorhome. Rebecca Harry, our host and new landlady was very helpful and good company,as where the locals. The food and drinks where spot on and good value for money, we will use again.

Stopped in with some friends who had come down for a visit. Hot afternoon so decided to eat in the beer garden. Food was really good quality, so no complaints from any of us. Table service was excellent...staff friendly and attentive. 5 stars.

Just passing from Builth with 7 month old granddaughter. They couldn’t have been mor accommodating. Good food nice people.

After trying to find somewhere to have a family meal late on a Sunday afternoon we had a recmmenditon , what a great place very friendly and the food was amazing. Thank you for making our last day visiting wales an unforgettable experience
