We pre-ordered 14 meals and all were excellent. Lovely people to deal with. Great food.

Very friendly staff, mega portion sizes, nice price and great tasty greek style marinate. Would recommend the Chicken Breast portion! Definitely coming back for more.

The food is never disappointing, the quality of food is always great. The delivery people are so friendly. And I genuinely enjoy the whole experience and will continue to be a loyal customer of this fine chippy.

This has become our go to stop off for suppers returning from work trips between south Wales and the Welshpool/Oswestry area. So friendly and delicious food. Next time we'll try the vegetarian Greek options!

Great Souvlaki with all the trimmings. Fresh and tasty and a huge portion. Great chips as well! Menu and shop front does not sell this place but don’t be put off and focus on the grilled and fresh food and you will be well rewarded

We have just purchased sausage and chips from here and I can honestly say it was the worst meal I’ve ever had, burnt chips and old dry batter on the sausage, it was horrendous, we were too far home to return but yuck

If anyone manages to finish the Fish and Chips on their own I take my hat off to them. Immense meal.. Edit: We have ordered food this weekend and we're quoted 60 mins for delivery, after approx 75mins we had a call to say our food would be another 15 mins. We waited patiently whilst the 15 mins turned into 30mins and our food arrived. Just shy of 2 hours for 3 kebabs. The food was delivered stone cold. Extremely disappointed. I understand our food was ordered quite late on what is likely a busy day but don't accept the order if you can't deliver good quality.

On a trip around the Welsh countryside, decided to have a bite a local fast food in Newtown. We chose Fish King as it had a close by parking and also parking place in front of the store. The whole area of Newtown is beautiful but around the city centre, where Fish King is situated, everything is especially nice. I had a fish and chips and my wife a special selection of chips, mushrooms, mushy peas, cod bites, and chicken. The portions are absolutely enormous. We could not eat all of it. Their usual customers noticed immediately that we are not locals and kept praising the shop as the best fast food in town. We did not test all of them but the locals might have and i believe them. The batter was crispy and barely a few drops of oil were on the box. The river side offers amazing views and it is a perfect place to relax after great food. Definitely recommend.

WOW! What a meal! We're from Northern Ireland (so we know a think about good carry-out food) but this was something else! We got the fish (cod), sausages, burger and chips and it really hit the spot! Great service and even better food! Highly recommended if you're passing through and feeling hungry.

this place Is disgusting the chip taste like beach or chlorine some kind of chemical the battered sausage's batter was really thick. the tartare sauce tastes like they add mustard to it. and their curry sauce is Chinese style curry sauce and not chip shop curry sauce (Re-edit) since writing this honest review the owner has responded with some rather crazy accusations. He claims I have attempted to get free food from him multiple times. yet I had never been to the shop prior the the experience leading me to write this review. He is desperately trying to defend his food and discredit me by making me seem like a young boy who’s doing this for a laugh but Honestly stay away from the restaurant it not nice food

A great discovery! Amazingly tasty fish and chips and excellent service. Although we had to wait as he was very busy, the guy chatted and joked with us whilst we waited. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and everyone was very busy. The food was well worth aiting for. Will definitely go there again.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of being a guest in Fish King . The fish here is very tasty, it is not soaked in oil as it happens in other places. I also ate Greek Salad, very tasty. The dishes served here are packed in very nice and practical boxes, especially for children. The service here is very good and helpful. I can recommend this place , and I can say that I will come back here for sure .

Fabulous meal, 2 haddock, 1 chips curry sauce and mushy peas, all very tasty fish was very tasty and a large portion. Placed order and came back at allotted time and everything ready, thoroughly recommend

Lovely staff, really good portion sizes and food presented excellently. However the chips and peas just didn't have any taste (the peas were cold). The fish was OK though. I'm not giving up on Fish King because I want to try the Greek food. Hopefully I can post 5 stars after that.

I can comfortably say, that hands down, Fish King is THE absolute best chip shop in town. Anybody arguing this FACT, has never tried Fish King yet, so do not hesitate! Try it out!

Best fish and chips in town. Fresh, good quality and generous portions for a reasonable price. The couple that run it are so friendly and make every effort to give good service. Other local places pale in comparison. I don’t know why you would go anywhere else.

My first visit to Fish King - ordered cod and large portion of chips - never has a portion of fish & chips beaten me but yours did ..... exceptional portion sizes of both - moist fish with crispy batter - hot proper chips - cannot recommend highly enough - thank you Fish King

I decided to pop in one night to see what dairy free options were available as I have a recently diagnosed milk allergy and my usual takeaways are now incredibly limited in choice. I was spoken to with respect and care, ingredients were checked carefully and a fresh, beautiful Greek meal was prepared especially for me!! Not only was the food amazing but I was overwhelmed by how accommodating and helpful the server was. I've had lots of eye rolling and huffing when I've asked elsewhere in Newtown and it's makes an already difficult life change even more emotional challenging. Fish King is now my favourite and first choice takeaway. Thank you Fish King!!

We tried the Fish King in Newtown for the first time, & we had a beautiful greek meal! The prices were extremely reasonable, & the portion size was fab! I called first to get some recommendations & they were so helpful to ensure i had the best of what they offer within what i wanted to try! Do not get me going on the greek salad!!! When my husband went to collect he said the place was completely done up & nice & clean (he is very specific about hygiene where he eats) & they were very friendly! P10/10 from us & we will definitely be returning!

If you haven't yet tried the Greek Chicken Souvlaki....you're seriously missing out! Staff are lovely and the chips are good! Did I mention the Greek souvlaki???

We bought fish and chips from here tonight, my Italian brother in law said he has never had fish and chips so good. I have to say we were all in agreement, we will certainly call in on them again. Very pleasant people too

The owner is very nice and he will introduce to you that you are interested in. The fries are with vinegar and salt, and it tastes very good and it's my first taste of it. This shop is worth recommending to anyone passing by and needing to eat. , worth trying.

The customer service was absolutely out of this world! The staff treated my Nan like gold. On top of that, their chips are some of the fluffiest I've had, and their fish and batter were so flavourful. I highly recommend!!

Visited on the afternoon of Saturday 5th June. First class food which we ate on the table and chairs outside and the owners are such nice people. Nothing is to much trouble. Wish there were more nice people like these about. Thank you so much and see you soon.
