We were staying in Hay and Drover offer the only charger for electric vehicles in the town (and it's free). They were generous with their suggestions of using it overnight. They sell maps for local road and MTB rides too, so after we'd been out on one, we stopped by for a coffee and cake. They sell energy bars and gels too, if you're stocking up before or during a ride. A very friendly team!

We stayed here with our two dogs for one night prior to attending the Welsh Kennel Club Champ Show. Our room was really well equipped and very nicely laid out, and very clean. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. The full english breakfast was spot on, and they went out of their way to ensure it was ready for us promptly as we had to head off to the show. We will definitely stay here again.

Great food and fabulous service- I would strongly recommend a visit if you are in Hay on Wye I have visited this cafe 3 times over the weekend and each time I have been impressed by the quality of the food and the friendly people. They went out of their way to help and made each visit a thoroughly enjoyable experience

We ate here twice in the week we stayed at Hay and both times we were impressed by how friendly and accommodating the staff were. Despite them being very busy and we hadn't booked they found us a table and the food came out shortly after. Everything is beautifully seasoned and generous portions. A great pub!

Quick call in for a drink and a sit in the sun whilst book hunting. Lovely clean pub, menu looked lovely although did not eat on visit. Sure, to be a busy place during holiday seasons. Clean toilets. Seating in and outdoors. Staff friendly and service fine.

Tried to eat there first night, 8:30pm arrived no greeting, we got her attention and asked where we can sit as we had a dog, she said sit where you want. When we chose our spot went to go to the bar, 8:40pm lady cleaning table informed me they stopped serving food 8:30pm, after a long journey to get here obviously hungry and disappointed we left. Tried today for lunch to be told lamb chops had run out. Which is fine I explained my disappointment and the lady was confused about not being served the night before as they stopped serving at 9pm. She did apologies but won’t be spending money here. Was so tired the night before and left to feed my 10 yr old from the spa store, so knowing this just made me angry, especially as I was hungry but the item I wanted of course had sold out today, just my luck, so out of principle won’t be trying again, not a great start to this area, not ideal but we did choose remote area. Tuesday today most things closed too 🤦🏽♂️🙄

Arrived for lunch at 1.45 to be met by very surely young lady who said all we've got is what you see. So there's no hot food then I said, she shouted to kitchen turn the fryers back on. I said are you doing paninis, she the shouted to kitchen turn them off again. Not being funny I couldn't see any paninis and as far as I know they are hot so what was the problem. Cash was preffered so rooted around for some money. Paninis were OK nothing special but salad was lacking any input just plonked on the plate. We then sat in an empty cafe as the two staff left by the back door to sit in the sun with a fag. We ate and left and could have taken the contents of the till with us if we were that way inclined. Won't be visiting again.
