The Globe hosted a charity event for #bemorefrank (09.11.24) and were the most amazing hosts and venue. Mary, lead the organisation and was open to all of our ideas and accommodating to everything we wanted to achieve that evening. All the staff worked so hard on the night with the vast numbers that came through the door and made the event run as smoothly as can be. Having two floors really allows flexibility plus the outside area (weather allowing) created the best setting for our charity event. Five stars to The Globe!!.

Fantastic venue for a party with brilliant atmosphere and ambience with plenty of space and a good dance floor. Having Bill on hand to do all the sound engineering was brilliant which took the stress out of the different performers on stage. All went so well. Big thanks to Mary and her team who were brilliant. The perfect night made very much so because of this superb venue. Highly recommend it.

We chose the Globe for our wedding venue in September and we could not have been happier. Mary and the team made everything run so smoothly and went above and beyond to make the day feel so personal and welcoming. We opted for burgers as our main meal which went down a storm. So many of our guests commented on what a perfect venue it was, with loads of space in the garden for kids to have fun, and a decent dance floor and sound system for the party later on. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for an all in one wedding venue in a really beautiful part of the UK.

Me and my partner had our civil partnership held at The Globe this September. The ceremony was incredible and just what we envisioned and more, thanks to Mary who listened to our wishes and helped craft the perfect setting. And thanks to Bill for the music and projections. Mary - thank you for your patience and a smooth running of our ceremony. Lots of guests said how well managed it was with the welcome drinks and photographs afterwards. We highly recommend using this space for a unique and memorable ceremony,

We stumbled upon this magical place whilst running through the rain. We were welcomed in by a warm glow and the sound of country harmonies. The musicians were outstanding and the atmosphere was electric. Although we were outsiders we could feel the sense of community in the room and felt the warm embrace of hay-on-wye . If we're ever coming back to hay-on-wye, which will be for certain, then we'll be springing back into the globe, so we'll see you there locals!

Also a host venue for the How The Light Gets In Festival, The Globe also engages in collaborative projects with local community members. My daughter chose The Globe at Hay on Wye for her wedding venue. It was a beautiful choice. The wedding venue was wonderfully decorated, all of the staff, from the bar staff to the restaurant staff and the wedding planners were so hard working and very helpful. There is a spacious garden area, and as the day was quite warm, it was super to be able to mix outside with other guests. The food served was of an excellent standard and such generous portions. Booked prior to jazz evening and were both blown away by standard of food. Described as small plates of food ( bigger than tapas) which you pick from a select menu. We had 4 plates between 2 of us which was plenty. Quality would not have been out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. Maybe we were lucky but I suspect not. Atmosphere very relaxed and waitress helpful and quick. Totally unpretentious and up there with some of the best meals we have had.

Ok if you’re an arty type but not our cup of tea. We went to see a folk-rock singer who plays the sort of music you get up and dance to but the audience just sat there clapping politely after each song. It felt as though we were sitting at home watching tv. The staff are nice but the drinks are expensive although there is a barrel of iced water with lemon slices on the bar that you can help yourself to for free. Toilets are a bit whiffy and you have to go down a very steep wooden staircase to access them.

We have been visiting The Drover's for around 25 years. As a full Family initially, now just the two of us. Peter and his Team never disappoint. The welcome is always friendly and we do enjoy a modest pre Lunch drink in the cosy snug out the back. The views of the river are spectacular. It was a bit chilly to be sitting outside on the balcony but one brave chap did take his coffee out there! The food, well, you can't call it 'just Sunday Lunch! It's a foodie treat! Plenty of beautifully cooked food. Always hot and tasty. The quality is certainly there as well. Cannot fault anything and the Sweets are to die for! The atmosphere is invariably pleasant. A good mixture of Walkers, Holiday makers and Locals. Thanks so much for everything over the years Peter. Our first time here this morning. From the minute we walked in we was welcomed and seated. All staff were welcoming. Myself and fiancé ordered a full English, food was lovely not one fault and clear plates. I had a cappuccino which was tasty and perfect. We were approached and asked if everything was okay during our meal. We paid with cash and left a tip as we were very pleased. We will definitely be attending again on our next stay.

Great place to stay. A friend and I cycled to the area and stayed here overnight. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. The room is a generous size with all the facilities you would want, and you have access to an outside deck area with lounge chairs and table which is ideal on a sunny day. The breakfast was also lovely. The location was great as it’s a 5 min walk from 2 good pubs and a post office/shop

Mock timber frame manor house retaining much of its character and charm. No lifts. Breakfast was choose your own pre-packed cereals with a cooked option. Dinner was a mini-taster with delicious options which we watched cooked on TV cameras. The room was clean but dated with an en-suit crammed in. High windows restricted light and views of extensive gardens and river. The staff were friendly and willing but lacked service training. Guests our age do not wish to be called 'you guys'.
