Lovely hot coffee, very nice staff

We happened upon this cafe the other day with the dog. We were just wandering orotund the time and saw there sign. We enjoyed sitting outside with a glass roof over head if it rained. We were made to feel very welcome with our dog. We enjoyed coffee and cakes. Even having gluten free choices. Others there were having lunch which looked really good. I’m sure that we will be going back this week.

What a hidden gem coffee food service and location all great go pay a visit and visit the other little ship in this location This is an independent cafe that is well worth a visiting

Came here for a very quick coffee & cake stop. The staff are friendly and the court yard out the back is very quaint. I was pleased to see a couple of vegan cake options available, although the main menu didn’t have a huge variety. The brownie was a bit hard!

Visited here today for breakfast. I messaged early to reserve a table & had a response straight away. Staff were lovely & food was amazing! Will definitely be visiting again :)

We always call in this cafe on our back from aberdovey. Why? It’s dog friendly fabulous staff and the best sausage and bacon sandwich in the area and cake. Highly recommend

Friendly and welcoming staff. Nice selection of delicious cakes which were reasonably priced together with nice tasting coffee. Meal menu reasonably priced and All Day Breakfast on the next table to us looked fantastic. A lovely cafe and well worth a visit!

Lovely food, very accommodating for preference and changing items on breakfast. Great portions, lovely cuppa and clean and tidy environment. Noted to be more affordable than some other cafes in the locality. Recommend. There is indoor and outdoor seating available and appear to be dog friendly.

Found this little cafe on the way home from cardiff to north wales, the name caught our eye as cwtch is a welsh word, food was 10/10 lovely, service was 10/10, beautiful place, will definetly be coming back here

Great little cafe, lovely food at reasonable prices

Poor service, Bland food, disappointing over all. Cafe had one other table, 4 members of waitstaff milling around. No one explained we had to go to counter to order, food was bland and under inspired. Staff never checked on any of the customers and stood behind counted chatting. Annoyed we wasted our time here.

Had a very big lovely fried breakfast 😋

We were sat outside with the dogs and no one told us they were allowed inside as it was really cold. We waited 35 mins for two burgers and were told the lady in the kitchen was up against it as she was on her own. I had a chocolate milkshake the milk was off. I gave it back and they just sniffed it and put it down the sink ! Felt very disappointed with the visit, as the could have offered a coffee replacement, there just seemed a lack of care for a customer experience.

Delicious food. I went with 3 friends including 1 friend that is vegan and another with allergies and we all had a lovely meal. Very quick service too!

We have been visiting this venue for over 15 years now and the staff and service have always been exceptional. It is now about six months since we we last called in on our bi annual trip to North Wales. We really looked forward as usual to our mid day meal here and called in yesterday for lunch and ordered our food. When we sat at our table, we found that the table top was very sticky, so much so that my jumper stuck to the surface. We ordered Salmon and Dill fishcakes and when the food arrived, the fishcakes were just lukewarm. To be honest, it was very disappointing. I have always enjoyed calling here for food but things seemed to have changed for the worse. I will try them once more on my next trip and if there is no improvement, we will sadly have to look for an alternative venue for our lunches.

A nice little cafe offering a good range of food, with a pleasant little tucked away and covered courtyard. We visited a few times during our nearby stay - once for breakfast and once for a lunchtime panini. Both were good, generous and good value for money. The cakes looked good too, but we didn’t have room!

A small group of us had travelled for event we dined here more than once everything about this place was perfect

I had the mars bar cake and it was DELICIOUS and massive. The undercover courtyard is a delight and we found everyone to be very nice. They stop serving savoury food at 3 and that was a shame for us, but cakes were great!

What a great place. Delicious food, large portions, excellent service. Great ambience. Somewhere along the line our huge and complex order got a bit muddled. They immediately apologised, put things right and gave us a free drink as a token of good will.

Came here with my partner and dog on Tuesday for lunch I had the rarebit and my partner had the breakfast which were both delicious. I’m also a big coffee drinker and the coffees here is yummy. The staff working were also really friendly and polite

Travelling for work. Stopped at this place for late breakfast/early lunch. This place was so lovely feel cosy and welcome. All the staff were friendly and good communication. Make sure we have our order correct and did check when we're eating all is well. Very independent local cafe. Will be back if when travelling for work. I've been back in summer time and didn't realise There's more sitting area out the back and more upstairs just follow the path. Lovely cosy tea and lunch, everything was lovely. Staffs friendly too.

The Cwtch is a lovely little cafe in the heart of Builth Wells! I would definitely visit if you're in the vicinity. The staff are always polite and welcoming, and the food is top notch. Is definitely my local go to for sit in food (they do also offer take away!)

Lovely cafe, great food, with plenty of veggie options. Had a very tasty panini (and a delicious cookie) for lunch. Service was fast and friendly.

Had the best Club Sandwich ever at lunchtime today, with a load of chips and salad on the side for an extra 50p. Don’t think I’m gonna be hungry till tomorrow. Mrs had a cheese and pesto panini and couldn’t eat it all. Great value, nice staff, pleasant surroundings. Would recommend, but go hungry !!

Made a last minute booking for a cream tea for Mum's birthday (normally 48 hrs booking). WOW they really did us proud. Lovely cakes 🍰, sandwiches and scones with clotted cream and jam. Very yummy ...... 🎂🍰 Thank you Highly recommended!!!!

Nice food and drink friendly staff

Walked across the road to this location. At first it felt spacious however it soon felt cramped. The choice of food was black tea and cake. The cake seemed to have far too much sugar so I will avoid this one in the future the tea itself was plain every day tea at an increased price of 1.50. Though not the most expensive. The staff were pleasant even though one could of the members looked as if she start for no reason. Generally a nice feel but with room with improvement.

Worst breakfast I’ve ever had , expensive and bland food. Breakfast menu states clearly in the first line that they do not offer substitutions which quite frankly seems a bit mean , In addition to that , they offer a vegetarian breakfast , which was to my delight as I don’t eat meat, what I wasn’t delighted with was the fact that they remove all meat and just replace it with some sub par extremely bland and dry vegetable sausages , the annoying thing is that the bacon was removed as was the black pudding and egg but keep it the same price , my LARGE breakfast consisted 2 hash browns , a shot of beans, 1 slice of toast Cut in half , a minute spoonful of overcooked mushrooms that had clearly been stood ,half a raw tomato and the before mentioned ‘sausages’, the company in which I visited this cafe all had the non veggie breakfast and theirs was easily double the size , the fact that this cost me £9.95 with a can of Fanta is absolutely disgusting , would not attend again and not only would I not recommend going here I’d also actively suggest nobody else visits.

My jacket potato with chilli was probably best I have ever had. Was very reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Will definitely return when next in Builth.

Looking for a nice brunch with 2 dogs, found this little place while on holiday and exploring the town. There is a delightful little courtyard with outdoor seating as well as plenty of space inside. I had eggs Benedict which they happily substituted ham for mushrooms for me and my partner had the Welsh cawl which he said was divine. They did 3 sausages for our dogs even though we had only asked for and paid for 2! They also sell doggy ice creams. Very friendly staff & decent prices. Would definitely recommend!

The cwtch was suggested by Luke from a local pub that wasn't serving lunch so we took his advice and thank goodness we did! We had a lovely welcome from Lisa who said to sit wherever we liked so we chose the pretty, covered courtyard. Coffee came quickly and piping hot and then we looked at the menu. At first, we thought it may have been a wee bit pricey until our food arrived. I had the bacon, brie and cranberry baguette served with chips and salad with a dressing (homemade) which was to die for and it was huge and more than delicious. The bacon, lots of it and thick and crispy, the brie, creamy and smooth and just delicious. My husband had the pulled pork quesdilla with chips and salad. He swooned and moaned with sheer delight. I couldn't eat all mine so Lisa produced a doggy box for me to take away the rest. A massive shout out to Debbie the fabulous and joyful cook. This place is a gem. Please visit. It's worth it x

The vegetarian breakfast itself was really lovely and we ate it all, however I suppose I'd like to draw attention to it's 'basicness' as lit appears little effort/creativity was put into it. In all honesty it felt like a token vegetarian option. I eat a plant based diet and there are some simple, inexpensive creations that can be part of meals and these can be options for all, and cost effective. The staff and service was lovely, the atmosphere is great but as local to Builth I'd like to support my community as much as possible, also I love eating out.

We only had a cup of tea, however it was 'proper tea' with tea leaves in a pot with an integrated strainer which was nice. They had seating inside and out, with shelter from the sun and rain. They had a wide variety of sweet options on display in the counter, including scones, shortbread and cake. They also had a menu with lots of savoury options. At the front of the cafe was an ice-cream counter with a delicious looking range to choose from.

Nice little cafe only one we could find apart from a pub doing breakfast in Builth wells on a Friday morning!

Really tasty burgers. I had the minted lamb with chips and salad. My partner had chickpea and harisa with salad. Very nice coffees too.

All I can say is my wife loved the food....sooo all will love it!

The best cafe in Builth, thanks to Debbie and Lisa, we go twice a week and I’ve never had a bad meal, these girls are worth their weight in gold, always happy and the best food. Debbie your food is excellent and Lisa the best service always with a smile, thank you ladies.

A very helpful and welcoming manager/waitress and the tea and cake were just what we needed. Couldn't understand why we had to sit in the atrium outside which was a little draughty and we were the only ones there. Does nobody have tea and cake in Builth? A shame as it was really delicious.

Spent so many of my childhood on holiday with family in Builth so, when I visited today, I booked a table at the Cwtch. Lovely, friendly welcoming staff, great service and we were all delighted with the quality of our meals. No room for desserts so we took a selection of cakes etc with us. Will visit again next time.

This is a top place to stop on a cycling trip. It is excellent value and the staff are all friendly and welcoming. I came with a group of 8. A toasted sandwich followed by a delicious mars slice really hit the mark!
