The best restaurants in Mid Wales

This meal was a most disappointing experience. We chose the a la carte menu as opposed to the taster menu. Howver, after being served with a starter and main course, we felt we had no more food than could be described as a taster and that is being generous. Whilst the food was beautifully presented and what we had was delicious, especially the bread, we left feeling hungry. We don't look for large portions but also expect to have more food than what you would feed to a one year old baby. We have eaten in many fine dining restaurants and this was not an a la carte meal. Needless to say we will not be visiting again.

On Saturday 10th my grandfather came to this establishment and ordered a tea and a ham and cheese toastie. He came in, ordered from the bar and sat down on a table across from the bar. His pot of tea came very promptly. He waited 20 minuets for his ham and cheese toastie and it was nowhere to be found. He said that around the bar and several tables were lots of staff just stood around gossiping. He went up to the bar to ask where his food was and was told that they apologise and would go and look for it, they then came back and told him they had no idea where his food was or where the order had gone but they assured him food would be out shortly. He then waited another 25 minuets! STILL NO TOASTIE! In the end he went back up to the bar and told them to forget it the girl offered him a refund but he was too angry and upset to stay in the building any longer. As a supervisor in hospitality and catering this is extreamly unacceptable and with lots of staff stood around he would have been catered to quickly and efficiently.

We ordered Jamaican traditional jerk chicken which essentially was roast chicken not well cooked and a crappy sauce on the side and the ital stew which tasted like sweet vegetable porridge. The chips were nice but nothing Jamaican about them. There was a mix up with the drinks order due to poor communication from the staff who refused to take responsibility for the error. So to sum it all up: poor tasting food that has nothing to do with 'the real taste of Jamaica ' they advertise it as, and below par customer service. I would not go back if it was free.

Great night out ! The atmosphere and views were so cozy. Riverside tables are nice on a warm day and tipi when it’s colder. The pizza was delicious, totally worth the money ! So were the potato poppers!!! Really nice place and staff were friendly.

Ordered 3 different curry dishes. All of them taste exactly the same. Very oily no taste and no spice? Two curries was supposed to be spicy but the was no chilly at all. Nan was cold and not fresh. And onion baji was flat oily and burnt also not fresh. Very disappointing dinner. As all went to the bin.

What a great pub - after a long journey as the A470 was closed we found this gem. When we arrived hungry and thirsty after a 4 hour drive we were told there was a 45 min wait for food- as we still had a 2 hour journey ahead we asked if they could rustle something up quickly. No problem 2 homemade locally sourced lamb curries in no time at all. Which was delicious. Fantastic service - great atmosphere- a proper bustling real pub just how things should be hospitable. Highly recommended - we will be back again.

Moved about half an hour away from here a couple of years ago and this is the first visit,such a lovely place,friendly staff,dogs welcome,good homemade food and the best pot of tea ever Stunning walks aswell! Won’t leave it another 2 years before we visit again!

Very good place for nice and quite place to enjoy alone or groups/family.

Lovely spot on Cardigan Bay, definitely recommend visiting, will be revisiting

A small, very busy restaurant with welcoming and efficient staff. The menu is not large but offers a good variety that would offer something for everyone . Puddings particularly good, but all our dishes were well cooked . We recommend

All vibes, no substance. We were excited to experience some unique cocktails based on the bar's great menu off their website. Upon arrival, we were given a tattered menu that looked nothing like the one online. The drinks were okay, nothing spectacular. The service was horrid. One server worked four two-tops, including ours. After we finished our first and only drink, he never checked in or asked if we wanted another. The other guests had the same experience because they left after one drink as well. Guess the server was too busy chatting with the three girls behind the bar.
