The Libertine Cocktail Bar in Ceredigion

All vibes, no substance. We were excited to experience some unique cocktails based on the bar's great menu off their website. Upon arrival, we were given a tattered menu that looked nothing like the one online. The drinks were okay, nothing spectacular. The service was horrid. One server worked four two-tops, including ours. After we finished our first and only drink, he never checked in or asked if we wanted another. The other guests had the same experience because they left after one drink as well. Guess the server was too busy chatting with the three girls behind the bar.

Lovely cocktail bar in a wonderful location. Really accommodating with drinks order and whole signature menu available as mocktails for those who don't wish to drink. Nice relaxed, cool atmosphere with friendly staff. Plenty of seating and overall a really positive visit. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cocktail or mocktail while in Aberystwyth.

Nice cocktail bar if you like that thing. Cocktails were nice, though .My wife and daughter had cocktails .Me and my son in law had bottled beers and whisky .A bit pricey, and the place was empty ,but it was a Sunday night

Pretty decent cocktail bar with a good variety of drinks on offer. Can seem to be a bit dark inside so I feel they need to do something with the R. The high tables are not great to sit at, so try and get on the sofas by the window! The staff are pretty quick to serve you at the table which is great

While it has a nice atmosphere, the drinks are very expensive although that is true of any cocktail bar. While the staff are pleasant, I waited 30 mins for a white russian, even though there were only 2 other people present at the time.

Josh was a great barman and we felt really looked after, was great at checking back and made my birthday very special :)

A fantastic Monday evening went on a quiet evening and it was just me and a friend. Lloyd and Josh were absolutely lovely servers naturally a very personal service but we had absolutely lovely night loads of nice recommendations with drinks recommended highly!

Great little cocktail bar. Average price £9.50 a drink, normal price level I guess. Service faultless, very central and dog friendly too!!

A lovely bar with two very friendly staff members behind the bar. They were chatty whilst working hard. They even professionally dealt with a late comer who was miffed that last orders had been called. If I lived locally this would be my bar of choice.

i usually love this place, drinks are lovely however went in wearing a shirt for a social and they were pretty rude to us. Girls gave us significant amounts of attitude so we drank our drinks very quickly and left. Maybe don’t go if you’re not in a suit.

First time at the Libertine, a warm welcome by host Natalia. An evening well enjoyed with the ‘50 ways to leave your lover’ 🤩 which ‘Shoyu you a good time’ pun intended. Best wishes to the team, the cocktail team and the hostess. If you enjoy cocktails and good time, it is a well recommended place.

Just had a fantastic evening here having a few cocktails. Seriously delicious and rather moorish! Big shout out to Natalia who served us, who is a massive asset to the company. Thank you for having us!

INCREDIBLE!!! Absolutely amazing place with cool decor and incredibly cool drinks. Even the cocktail menu looked perfect. Lovely drinks with lovely service!!

First time there, won't be the last. Awesome staff, had a good laugh. Didn't have any food but shall be in the future so I can update the stars. The amount we spent doesn't reflect the cost, we had quite a bit to drink there as we didn't want to leave. If you like rum and sweetness try the "showme" (however you spell it) and "The Hurricane". 😘👌 Will be coming again.

Liked the place at 1st, décor was very much our style, Waitress was great and came over pretty much straight away and they were brought over not long after, then it went downhill fast. My drink was fine, just tasted like baileys and milk but I liked it. The half on the other hand ordered a drink called bananas, it tasted nothing like banana, it had a very strong taste of lemon, more like a lemsip than a banana cocktail. So he took it back and explained that it didn't taste how he thought it should and had a very strong lemon taste. The bar staff went straight on the defensive and had an attitude with him, they even tried saying the lemon taste was due to the bourbon! He explained how he's a bourbon drinker and this didn't taste like anything other than lemon. In our few experiences when we have had to take a cocktail back as it didn't taste how it was described (twice, in two different places), the bar staff have always tasted the drink, seen what we meant , agreed and then remade the drink. Not here, after pretty much telling him he was wrong they just put another shot of the banana flavoured liquid in his cocktail and handed it back to him 😐. It tasted more like banana but I wouldn't go as far as to say it made it better. We quickly finished the drinks and went to the cocktail bar across the road instead. When you're paying £10.50 for a drink, you expect it to taste how it's described and dealt with professionally if it doesn't, not be met with attitude and an unwillingness to even try the drink to understand his point. Would not go again.

Popped in for a bit of a date night with the wife while we were on holiday, had some lovely cocktails. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. Really enjoyed the "Moo-d changer", and "tea for 2" was nice but not as good as the mad hatter's tea party which used to feature on the menu.

Barman is a genius. If you get the chance face the bar and get memorized. Wow

This place is amazing! There is incredible customer service, the drinks are exceptional and the highlight of the place is Daisy the doggo, who I got to give cuddles and kisses. Would highly recommend ❤️

Gorgeous bar, friendly staff and seriously cool cocktails. Not the normal run of the mill stuff either, someone has really thought about this and the cocktail menu is one of the best I've ever seen. Loads of fun and will definitely be back.

Lovely bar with friendly, charming staff, great decor and delicious cocktails. Expensive - but cocktails always are! They've taken time to devise new flavours and new ideas - don't expect the standard cocktail menu.

In theory, a quiet enjoyable cocktail bar, with the usual ambiance. However, on this occasion a group of lads mistook it for a pub at happy hour. The yelling and general state suggested the end of a pub crawl; not the bar's fault, but Christ, a bit loud and obnoxious.

Lovely place, great customer service, staff attire on point. Fantastic cocktails. My personal preference would of been if the music would be jazz or lounge, to create more of a relaxing atmosphere. But thats a personal preference.

Nice enough place, good cocktails, nice staff, and a nice vibe, until it gets even slightly busy. Then you realize it’s understaffed and the chill cocktail bar vibe turns into your standard pub atmosphere of people just crowding the bar making it impossible to order, or even get back to your table.

We visit Aberystwyth at least once a year and always make sure we stop by libertines during our stay. Great atmosphere, amazing drinks, highly recommended, no better cocktail bar than this one.

Just a minute walk from the beach front, this is a very stylish establishment with dark interior contrasted with flora feature walls and colourful cushions. The service was cheerful and very professional. We ordered several cocktails - the Ladders and Snakes, the Lord Ascot and by far my favourite the Mad Hatters Tea Party which came in a teapot with two little China cups. The cocktails are not especially cheap - ranging from £8.50 to £15 - but they absolutely outstanding and worth every penny! Combined with it's chic atmosphere and professional service you can't go wrong if you want a bit of style and luxury.
