Fantastic community run cafe ..Good food at reasonable prices ... if like us you were out on a two wheeled fun ride this is a great pit stop along the way

Amazing community run cafe with delicious homemade food. We make sure to stop here every time we have a journey to South Wales. Our little boy loves the children's play zone with toys and it's a great way to let him have a mid-journey chill out after some lunch.

Not the best welcome or service. 2 coffees a cake and pate on toast ordered. Cake stale, forgot pate only to be given a toasted cheese sandwich as well as the pate after being reminded of order. Returned sandwich then claimed they had run out of the cake after the cake was sitting in front of us. Second time visiting this place that a simple order was wrong. Food is good but chaotic service.

We had a lovely fresh cooked lunch sitting outside, free squash for the kids with friendly staff, and a locally sourced shop. We shall be coming again!

Cletwr is a community run cafe in Tre'r-ddol, half way between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth. It also has a small store selling essential items like milk and bread. There is a wide range of drinks and snacks available with waiter/waitress service. Ample parking makes this a great place to stop for a break when travelling north or south in mid west Wales.

Waited ages for our coffee, then when it did get to us it was luke warm

Not fancy, just nice honest food. In our group, someone had a ham and cheese toastie. Simple stuff, lovely ham and tasty hearty cheddar cheese. I had a spicy tomato and kidney bean soup. Winter busting fayre. All four of us fed and watered for £26 which with inflation etc as it is / has been is a credit to Cletwr. Recommended.

A lovely community-run shop and cafe on the redeveloped site of a former petrol station between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth. The vegetarian lasagne was home cooked and delicious. My daughter has moved to live in the area so I will be making this a regular stop-off.

Amazing place. Stopped on a wet Sunday afternoon to break up our journey. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. We had hot drinks and the Bars Brith best I've tasted so far on our trip and the tangerine and chocolate cake which was soo good especially loved the dark chocolate chips, our favourite type of chocolate.If you are passing drop in, a lovely community cafe run for the community - Not for profit. Support independent.

Very pleasant place, good coffee, well used by locals. Nice little shop too. Just had coffee, so cannot comment on much else.

No-one about when I arrived. Another customer told me they had no hot food. Waited to ask about cold food, no-one about. Looked in the shop, only some ropey looking sausage rolls available. Finally found a member of staff to ask about a sandwich, only to be told they'd run out of food ... this was at 1.30pm. Not worth stopping. Carried on down to Machynlleth instead.

Home cooked food where the best ingredients were used. They were also very accommodating in my use of the Welsh language ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What a shame. This place looks nice, but I fear it's a tourist trap(just to be clear I'm not a tourist, I'm working locally)The staff are inattentive, they don't say please or thank you. I had to ask for sugar(as did my colleague) We had to get our own condiments and cutlery.The sausages were raw(you can see for yourself if you look up the menu in google images) I asked for no egg and was not offered a substitute. I asked for a large breakfast and mine was the same size as my colleagues small breakfast! Nobody asked if our meals were ok and to top it all off, by the time two of us had finished our food our third colleague was still waiting for his.

Honestly one of the best cafes and shops I’ve been too. Nice people, local produce at fair prices and strong community and charitable focus. Was just passing through and felt really welcome here.

After signs indicating food, called in to be told no food on a Monday or Tuesday. I needed toilet and coffee so stayed a while. At least 3 parties called and left be because of no food. It was 1 o'clock. Clean and tidy premises but a bit disappointed .

Way to expensive for a community cafe needed a mortgage to buy 2cups of tea so I walked out

Pleasant community cafe. I had the chilli which was a bit bland for me. My two mates had some sort of meat Scooby Snack which they liked. As a filthy trail rider, I was made perfectly welcome. For trail riders with no ignition keys, you can park your bike so you can see it from the café.

A wonderful community cafe. 50kv EV charger makes this a great stopping place to recharge both the vehicle and yourself.

Great for a stop off for weary traveler.

I love this community shop. It's been one of the best things about moving to this area. We moved from a High St location in a busy market town in Worcestershire. We don't miss it and Cletwr stocks everything we need around a weekly Gusto delivery. Thanks to the Cletwr Team.

Couple of wasp traps wouldn't go amiss outside, but other than that it was really nice. Bara brith was really good! A lovely taste of Wales. Latte was excellent, and the tea had a lovely flavour.

Very disappointed yes the coffee and hot chocolate were very nice but the tables had not been wiped clean.And no it was not busy

Beautifully small road side cafe for when you're hungry and you're on your journey. Had lunch in the car whilst watching 2 birds fighting in flight, calm atmosphere which I'm surprised about as this place is always busy. Fresh food and snacks to take on the road, what's not to love!

Lovely local spot. Got here a lot on trips to Machynlleth. Simple but tasty food, such value prices and a lovely range of vegetarian and vegan food.

Unfortunately there was no hot food (not available Monday or Tuesday). That being said it has a lovely relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy a gorgeous piece of Lemon cake & fabulous capaccino.

We have gone to Cletwr for the last three years. Great food, great coffee and lovely friendly staff. Last time we went the bloke went out of his way to make sure our dog had water. He was so kind to us. Comfortable inside and out. Very accessible an easy to park. Facilities great an clean. Shop brilliant and full of local produce from Wales. Sells plants to. We love it here.

This little cafe was such a good find. Food was absolutely gorgeous and the kids area is fantastic. Loved the book buy corner and the free drinks for children was such a lovely touch. We will definitely be back

We had a delicious lunch-soup and roll and a cheese sandwich and nd it was relaxing and calming place to eat. And I enjoyed looking at the books available to buy.

A lovely little cafe and shop, with other community stuff too, like a kids' play area and 2nd hand books. The cafe's selection isn't wide but they cater for GF and vegan diets, and when it comes to both value and quality it's great - the bread and baked goods were amazing.The shop has the perfect mix of necessities and little luxuries.

Really comfortable cafe next to the main road for a quick stop for hot drinks or lunch. Large enough car park with two electric car chargers. They also have organic produce and have toilet facilities.

An amazing little community hub! We were staying nearby for a week and I was on the lookout for a decent coffee… This place did not disappoint! Very clean, well equipped place with super friendly staff. Lovely coffee, cakes and breakfast. Lots of items in the shop too. Our toddler especially loved the section for the kids - books, a role play kitchen, dinosaurs, etc. - meant that mam and dad could enjoy their coffee whilst it was still warm! Highly recommend this place! Hope to visit again in the future 🙂

Very slow to bring out the order and staff very confused in which order goes to which table had several attempts to give us somebody else's order ☹️ great place sorry to say staff let it down ☹️☹️

Clean and friendly. Great light lunch stop but limited choice. Not sure why they can serve an "all day breakfast sandwich" but not an all day breakfast. Surely you only need to take away the bread and make some toast with it. Maybe add some tomatoes??? Will use again.
