It's just a Bulgarian place without the luxury of a restaurant. It is very poor from the decoration to the food. The bean dish was cold and terrible. On Saturday night, we were the only ones, the entire restaurant was empty. Which is understandable because of the atmosphere. We paid and left as quickly as possible. Absolute is not recommended.

So, I had booked our 1st visit to Bulgarian Kitchen. A very friendly welcome after which we were guided to our table. I am happy I booked as it appeared busy. Pleasantly busy. A nice atmosphere and nice decorated walls. After having had a look at the menu we decided starting with a shared platter, We decided starting with a shared platter, to get to know the kind of food. My main dish was a Bulgarian Kyufteta, to finish with a bite of my girls' Baklava and a very nice, new to me, Matured Peshterska Rakia. We had a great evening, a wonderful experience. Thank you once again !

What a wonderful, authentic experience. The food was clearly freshly made with good, wholesome ingredients. I had not tried bulgarian cuisine before and did not know what to expect but I'm so glad I got the chance to visit Bulgarian Kitchen before leaving Aberystwyth. Service was warm and welcoming and made me feel excited to try the desserts before we had sat down! Delicious! My next trip to Aberystwyth will surely end with another slice of that amazing fantasia cake. Thanks so much!

Food was ok , a bit bland for my taste, had to add salt which I rarely do. The meat musaka had too many potatoes and not enough meat in it. My friend showed them a picture of what he wanted from the online reviews and they brought something else. Beeing a small restaurant we could overhear a bit of tension between the two of them which is not nice for the customers. I had quite high expectation in terms of food as I've been to Bulgaria before and they have lovely food but I must say it was a bit dissapointing. Desserts were very nice though. The service was ok but not great , the lady had a straight face, no smile whatsoever , we could barely hear what she was saying and she almost rolled her eyes when we asked for something. I suggest them to go to Welsh or English restaurants to get example of how service is done or to hire a local. Some people where trying to get into the restaurant and she dind't even bother to help them open the door... they would have probably lost customers if we didn't help them. Nice cozy and lovely place with traditional music on the background if you ever wanna try some new food.

If you want good Bulgarian food keep walking. This place is always empty for a reason. I still got the wrong dish even after showing the picture of the item on the menu to the waitress. Instead of kebapcheta I got kyufteta? which would not have been a problem if it was any good. But the 480g of meat turned out to be 2 patties barely the size of a McDonald's hamburger yet somehow more processed tasting. I ate them in 1 minute and was left with a large pile of frozen fries to look at. Here is additional feedback for the other dishes from my table: nadenitza - watery beans straight from the can, moussaka - bland and tasted store bought, both dishes look to have been inspired by the famine of 1947 in terms of the amount of meat, you got half a sausage and a few crumbs, definitely not babushka approved, also we were told they had no trakijska salad, I guess they could not find any more at the supermarket. Deserts were not great but not terrible, exactly what you would expect from store bought. In terms of the dinning experience, the service was very robotic, barely a few words were spoken by the waitress, it's understandable as she had no time to smile or clear the plates when tending to almost 3 tables, I never seen the place this busy before. 10 minutes to take our order, almost 30 minutes to receive mostly reheated food. My biggest regret that day was getting up and letting an old couple inside the restaurant who could not seem to open the stuck door, if you guys read my review, please know I'm really sorry.

Food did not feel like it was homemade. Meat musaka was made entirely with potatos, fries were generic frozen ones and then fried, salad is bought from a local store. The cakes that they buy from somewhere else were good. Poor quality of service, it's insane the amount of positive reviews this place has, probably that's why I got angry with the place as I had high expectations. # thank for the reply, be honest was the food bought and reheated? If you admit I'll delete the review

We had a really delicious dinner at the Bulgarian Kitchen. The menu design doesn’t do justice to the food that turns up as our meals were very fresh and full of flavour. They definitely serve wine and brought a separate menu when we asked. Great service and a very reasonable price. Plus it’s fun to try something different.

We’ve been coming to Aberystwyth for the comedy festival, and our favourite restaurant had changed hands so we wanted to find somewhere new. It was pure chance that we found the Bulgarian Kitchen, its friendly green exterior and soft lighting convinced us to step inside. The atmosphere is refreshingly simple and warm, with traditional Bulgarian music played in the background. The rich red covered bench tables are more than enough space if you’re a couple or a bigger party. The concise menu of traditional dishes allow many needs and tastes, and the food is served fresh and piping hot. Service is very courteous and friendly. This is a very popular restaurant, but there is plenty of seating, and waiting time for dishes is very reasonable and well worth the wait. The restaurant has a licence so you can have alcohol with your meal, or coffee. If you want to escape the identical characterless eateries, the Bulgarian Kitchen is packed with character and atmosphere a flavour of is country and a real destination to eat and experience. We’ll come back again soon!

As tourists from Turkey we were treated excellently and I can certainly say that this restaurant is one of the best places to eat in this city. The portions are huge and the price is well worth it. The fries we had were excellent along with the chicken steak. Afterwards we also went for the Kofte or meatballs which were also great. I would certainly recommend this place as a person who has been to Bulgaria many times and very good even considering the home country’s standards. Thanks

Great atmosphere, good staff and delicious cheap food. What more can one want? I had the nadenitsa with the white bean stew, cheese banitsa (they didn't have any other variety at the time) baklava and beer. The stew was simply divine and had a bit of heat which I liked. Not too much but enough to feel the chilly. Definetly recommend. Baklava was probably the least sweet version I've ever tasted, which is not a bad thing. It had sweetness but wasn't overpowering allowing one to taste the nuttyness more. After paying my bill which really wasn't much I rolled away happily.

I had dinner here last night with a friend and it was fantastic. To answer a question we had, they do have an alcohol licence (previous restaurant at this location didn't for those who remember and wonder like us) so no need to byob. We had some traditional pastries with filling, a stuffed pepper and a traditional mousaka. All of it was lovely. Great portion sizes and served with fresh salad. Washed down with a bottle of Bulgarian white wine. (they also do beers etc). We also indulged in a Bulgarian dessert which was home made and delicious. You could see the lady who waited on us and chef clearly preparing food fresh to order and this is a lovely touch. The lady helped explain what everything was on the menu etc as well and was very kind. They are obviously working very hard to try build up a business, I hope local people can support them and they do very well. We'll be returning very shortly and recommending.

We stumbled gratefully on this place during heavy rain having failed to find the restaurant we'd booked for, and with the risk of missing our evening meal looming! The menu looked distinctly Greek with salads including feta and olives and grilled pork with chips, though my wife had a tasty baked savoury rice. Everything was pleasant without being a great dining experience, but at a very reasonable price (though the wine was rather overpriced for a Bulgarian Cabernet Sauvignon!) The restaurant is apparently run by a Bulgarian family who were very helpful and pleasant. This small restaurant was otherwise empty, apparently because the university vacation had started, which suggests that this cheerful budget eatery is usually a student haunt. Not a place we'd choose to eat normally but that night it delivered, so Thank You!

What a lovely find! Eat here! I am so glad the first few places I called were fully booked. Unique little restaurant with fresh, good food. The portions are generous and a fantastic value. It was £43 for 4 adult meals and a child’s meal (probably the best chicken nuggets I’ve ever had)… 5 drinks and 4 desserts. The waitress who I believe may have also been the owner was extremely helpful and answered lots of our questions about menu items. Service was quick and efficient. I will definitely come back here! A few nights ago my partner and I ordered a selection of things from here as we were excited to try Bulgarian food for the first time. My partner chose the 'hamburger' which was not a hamburger, it was more like a small salty toastie. The chips and salad which came with it he said was very salty and not very good. I had a bean stew, which in my opinion was the highlight of the meal. It was flavoursome and hearty. The sausages and meats we chose were also fairly good, but a bit salty. We had ordered a selection of desserts, but the restaurant gave us five extra! That was a very kind touch. It was slightly annoying that we couldn't work which dessert was which as nothing was labelled, so we would not know what to order again. However, they were fairly interesting and yummy.

The right place if you're visiting Cardigan in Wales and fancying a delicious Italian gelato ice cream. Rich in flavor and the texture is incredibly smooth, melting perfectly in your mouth. The selection is impressive, featuring both classic flavors like pistachio, and unique creations such as Welsh cake (highly recommended).
