The Castle Cafe at Cardigan is probably the best place to socialise, unwind and savour the experience. Castle Cafe is that sort of establishment, where nothing is too much trouble! Steve and April Greenhalgh are hard working, honest duo. They are the driving force, along side with their team. Your first visit will feel as though you have frequent their place many times before. This is certainly a place of acceptance and a place to visit to make new friends. Light bites or even hearty meals, roasts are a favourite for many including a Nut Roast. Your four legged fur babies are accepted at this caf. With laughter and music in the soul of this fine eatery you will have to travel far and wide to discover any thing similar or better! Cardigan is steep in History with Cardigan Castle in the forefront of Castle Cafe, this magnificent building dates back as far as the 11 Century. In 1176 The National Eistedfodd was formed. That tradition has been carried forward today. Musical instruments, Poetry, Dance and Song, where’s the winner selected won the chair to dine with the Lord of the Castle. Today the Castle Cafe will say you don’t have to perform to dine at Lord Steve’s table. You will be equally greeted by Steve or his team. Castle Cafe is constructed in stone in 1750 certainly the stone used came from Cardigan Castle. Steve is no bard, but music stems from Cardigan Castle and in the veins of Steve Greenhalgh. With other projects that he spearheads. Five star is the reason I award this Maestro.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The price and value of this place is absolutely fantastic. Two coffees, a Pepsi, two roasts, and two puddings came to £32. Unbelievable value. The coffees were really nice and well made, and the roasts were exceptional. I wasn’t expecting much as the prices were so low, but this was genuinely one of the best roasts I’ve had - such well cooked veg and meat, and they were able to accommodate vegetarian options as well. The apple crumble was also divine and incredibly cheap. Cant recommend this place enough!

Visited today with my family of five and four dogs. Sat outside on a table that worked perfectly for us. Very nice touch: sausages for the dogs. The food was simple and delicious. Beans on toast hot and proper beans. Cheese on toast with absolutely tons of lovely cheese was a big hit. Quiche felt home made and came with a very varied and tasty salad including coleslaw, potato salad and pasta salad. Ham sandwich in fresh thick bread - ham was thick cut and breaded. Side salad with samdwiches fresh, crunchy and colourful. Very reasonable price and friendly service. Good understanding of the needs of dogs ans their owners! Books and other stuff to browse inside which I will do should I ever return without hounds.

This is the first review we have done because we feel we need to review this adorable quaint cafe. The best breakfast we have ever had! All cooked to perfection. My husband had the mega, I had the full and our eldest son had the medium, and our youngest, who is a very picky eater had weetabix and toast. All plates were emptied. They even allowed us to amend the drinks to milk and milkshake to suit the boys. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. Me and my friend had been here before and were very pleased. We went back today and were totally disgusted. We got a dirty look from one of the waitresses when walking in. Paid £8 for a cooked breakfast and a drink, you hardly got any food. The egg and toast were burnt, there was only half a slice of bacon. Our food came out with a “I’m guessing this is yours” and our cutlery thrown on to the table from the same waitress that gave us the dirty look. My friend ordered toast with her breakfast but none came with it (that’s fine we all forget things sometimes) but when we told the young waitress that we’d ordered toast with the breakfast she just turned around and said “did you” and never brought out the toast that had been paid for. Will not be going back.

You have a very unique atmosphere there which is very interesting and quirky. On the walls there are posters of the upcoming jazz events and gigs. Before leaving I decided to get some Rocky road cake to take away and at £1.50 it was a bargain. Kim told me she'd made it and if that's so then she should be very proud. We had a very pleasant lunch, the staff were lovely and the Labrador appreciated his sausage: will definitely visit again. Thanks.

A really well stocked bottle shop and tap room. Stumbled across the place by accident but was a great find. Had really fresh local beer and neipa, IPA, sours etc at (I think) very fair prices. Everything I sampled was great over two visits. Live music in the evening and wish I could have stayed for that too. Dog friendly with scooby snacks at the bar

There's a reason why they have over 1000 star reviews. The croissants are the best we have ever had

The right place if you're visiting Cardigan in Wales and fancying a delicious Italian gelato ice cream. Rich in flavor and the texture is incredibly smooth, melting perfectly in your mouth. The selection is impressive, featuring both classic flavors like pistachio, and unique creations such as Welsh cake (highly recommended). The menu is simple yet diverse, offering a range of gelato ice cream, smoothies, milk shakes, tea and coffee and pies and light pastries for a light breakfast. The cafe also has a small outdoor seating area, which is perfect for enjoying your breakfast on a sunny day.
