The Triangle Inn in Powys

This is a beautiful pub tucked away off the road. It has parking very close too. We felt so welcomed when we arrived and the ladies were lovely. We both had the rump steak which was AMAZING! It was a delicious meal to look at and to eat. Once again, the ladies looked after us so well and we would definitely visit again next time we're in Wales. PS. Did you look up the Flumps?!

Delicious lamb shank and sensibly priced drinkable wine. What's not to like? Service was very good and we would definitely return.

What a wonderful little place, full of chatter and a lovely aroma of food. Visited tonight and we all had (4) different meals from the great menu - this then ended with 4 empty plates. Fresh local produce cooked to perfection, attentive and friendly staff, warm and inviting environment. A great little place and well worth a visit!!! Thank you to all staff and a nod to the Chef - we left with happy memories.

The Triangle booked us in for the wrong night and made no effort to rectify their mistake other than to suggest we ate quickly. Had no option but to leave and go elsewhere. Very poor customer service. This is the first time we tried the Triangle and it is the last.

Acted on a recommendation at our accomodation, so glad we paid a visit as our meals were absolutely lovely. We spoke to guests at adjoining tables and they were also particularly impressed with the quality, portion sizes and the fairly short time taken to deliver meals & drinks to our tables. Staff were helpful and friendly and made every effort to allocate us a table at what was obviously a very busy time. We would recommend that a reservation is made well in advance of any planned visit to avoid dissapointment.

The best traditional little gem. Staff are the most happiest friendliest people who give to the warmest of welsh welcomes. Menu is great. Such flavoursome meals. Options for different style potatoes. Good list of specials on the menu too. Will visit again as there is so much on the menu I would like to try! The story of the food linked to the nearby farm is great and well worth supporting this pub

I had the lamb shank it didn't taste of anything, my partner had the fish cakes which were very dry and tasteless how this place gets A 5 star I don't know .... sorry 16th century pub you need to get with the times

The Triangle offer Excellent food and you get a very warm welcome couldn’t fault anything there . I advise ringing and booking a table has it’s a very busy place! Staff are friendly and there a good varied menu and choice of drinks ! Take a look at the Menu and The Specials board has it full of Great meals . Overall this place is worth visiting with also an outside that you can eat in!

Had high hopes after being told it was the best place to eat in Rhayader. Waited an hour for our food and found it to be average, chicken curry was unimaginative, fish goujons overdone and couldn't help but wonder if the mashed potato was from a packet, Generally disappointing and more expensive than other pub food in town. Would not recommend.

We had such a great welcome when enquiring about take away food: the lady at the bar was most helpful, making suggestions and doing what she could to help us out. The food itself was delicious and a great portion. A lovely place all around.

We were on an overnight stay ( my daughter and I ) ,and googled best places to eat.Called, and fully booked-but Heidi was so helpful, and said she would do her best for a table, we may just need to wait ( not knowing how long people will stay to eat) Got there to the warmest welcome by Heidi, super lovely and an asset to the business.Atmosphere cosy and lovely .Food was served by a lovely waitress, cod was huge and divine. We've visited the Triangle before and this is a place to definitely return to! We ate here twice over the weekend and as like last time, the food was perfect and the staff are so friendly and attentive. We also stayed in the cottage, which is directly opposite the pub. The cottage was just perfect for the two of us. It was warm, well equipped and very cosy! Will we visit a third time? Yes and yes! We love it here and thank you for welcoming us!

What a find! Such a lovely little pub that sources local for its ingredients. A fabulous specials menu and all my fussy four children found something they were happy to eat. The owner was a lovely friendly man, who made sure we enjoyed our evening. We had a cracking table near a fish tank tucked away. The food was excellent too. As a family of six, eating out is pricey so we only tend to do one evening meal out as a family and we just pray we pick well and we aren’t disappointed! This was definitely a win and when we return to the area we will definitely be back to enjoy the lovely atmosphere again.

Recommended by our host but we were already aware of this little gem. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere with proper beer. Extensive specials board in addition to normal menu. Enjoyed it so much we ate here on each night of our 3 nights stay. Everything we ordered was quality and good value. If you're staying in the area definitely worth a visit. Best to book as the season progresses but it was fine to just walk I when we visited.

Called and asked if they could accommodate us for food quite late, they were very helpful even though the kitchen was due to close, Heidi even called back to see if we were almost there, very friendly and charismatic place, our little one was given a present whilst we were there, the food was fantastic, so glad we stopped here, its a bit far for us to visit more regularly but we will definitely be comong here again

What an outstanding meal we all had at The Triangle in Rhayader. From the welcome to the service and the good food it has to have been one of the tastiest and most beautifully presented meal we have all had in a long time. The pub had an old fashioned welcome with interested things to look at all around. If you are visiting Rhayader we highly recommend you visit here. We visited this place on recommendation from my sister who lives in Rhayader.We have come from Dorset.I can honestly say the best food by far.We had the rump steak,rib eye,lasagne,whitebait,Welsh lamb burger. following recommenndation from a cafe in town by the clock tower and a previous visit many years ago we booked (luckily as busy) for evening meal - the food arrived in good time and both meals were excellent

Preboooked a table here for Saturday 23rd September 2023 as we knew it would be busy, was recommended by an ex work colleague so we thought we would give it a try. My partner had the venison burger and I had the 12 oz rump steak both meals were spot on and good value for money - the burger and steak were very tasty. We will definitely come here again as we found the pub very friendly with a good atmosphere love these old country pubs. Thanks Mark.

The Triangle is a short walk from the centre of Rhayader, approximately a pleasant 10mins walk. A very busy pub so advisable to book. Service was very good as was the steak and I will return in 2024

Very disappointed, it was recommended by several people, and we looked forward to going, on arrival we were seated in the bar only to be confronted by someone eating their dinner with a big dog on their lap, we ordered drinks and our food, on arrival the steaks, which we were advised were supplied by the farmer who owned the pub and were good, were in fact not, very thin and overcooked, we decided nor to complain but did not finish our meals, the chips were also overcooked, however we asked by one of the staff about our experience and advised her of our dissatisfaction, she apologised and removed on of the steaks from the bill. I do like original and historical places but this place is in a very poor state of repair, the toilets which are across the road are best described as agricultural, very poor, would not like to have to go ther on a wet winters evening, sorry, we will not return

Essentially good but standard pub grub - not much more is available in Rhyader. Gets crowded, probably because of the good reviews, so even in September during the week it's necessary to book, preferably several days in advance. The evening we were there, they were full. A starter was produced quite quickly but then we had to wait over an hour for the main course which wasn't anything special. They really could have done with more staff bother serving and in the kitchen. There are other options in Rhyader which are almost as good although Rhyader doesn't offer much variety for evening meals anyway.

Lamb cooked to perfection. So tender. Menu is great, showing the link the food has to the local area. Loads on the specials board. Traditional pub. I would say booking is essential and they were super busy for a week night

A stunning little charming pub with amazing food customer service and atmosphere we found it by chance on a little impromptu dog walk /explore so we decided we would come and try it out for our 1st anniversary meal and it was wonderful staff are so friendly and the is food amazing (highly recommend the whale and chips - I'm not kidding when I say the fish is the size of a whale) we enjoyed it so much and made a wonderful memory for our 1st wedding anniversary so much we will be back whenever we find five minutes to pop a few miles down the road for a meal out Thanks for the great food and hospitality

In the area on holiday and really struggled to find somewhere nice to eat. Drove past the pub on our way cycling and reading the reviews it sounded lovely. Couldn’t get through on the phone to book, but managed to get a cosy table outside. Great selection of homemade pub food and specials, and a great meni for the kids. Food came quickly, we were checked upon that all was OK, and everyone loved their meals! A great find- wish they did lunch or were able to book online. One thing that we didn’t really like (and just is being maybe a bit picky!) the tag line at the end of the kids menu to ask grown ups for pudding… not a great marketing ploy. Will be returning on our next holiday to the area.
