Beautiful barn with real china and proper pots of tea. Sandwiches are lovely and homemade cakes are lush. Scones come with clotted cream and jam - so delicious. Staff are super friendly. Third visit and will be back.

First time to visit the Tea rooms today and what a lush first experience, beautiful building set in a lovely quiet area with beautiful grounds, lovely warm welcome of a gentleman who give us a menu and a optional where we wanted to sit, classical music playing in a lovely warm friendly atmosphere, we ordered a sandwich and cream tea which was perfect the scones are devine 😍 I loved the tea cup and saucer with proper tea leaves. I will definitely be back thank you all 🥰

We chose the tea rooms for its welcoming atmosphere, excellent food and location in the national park. Our party of 7 were warmly greeted by the staff and service was prompt, helpful and cheerful. The tea is loose leaf, of good quality and served in a proper tea pot with strainer which provides an authentic experience for those of us brought up on Glengettie tea! We all had combinations of sandwiches (freshly made and well filled) cakes, scones and welsh cakes (delicious) which were all home made. Although we had kept it deliberately low key, the occasion was to celebrate my mothers 99th birthday and included family members who had travelled from scotland. Somehow the staff had sussed this out and we were suprised to be serenaded by a chorus of "Happy Birthday" from the staff complete with a cake and candles. This made the afternoon a special one and we would highly recommend it to all!

We called into The Old Barn Tea Room after a very long and strenuous walk on 19.02.2024. It was an added trek to find it but well worth the trouble. It's a beautiful property in it's own lovely gardens surrounded by the stunning Brecon countryside and it is very much a traditional tea room with proper china crockery, well laid out on the tables and extremely inviting. The establishment has been very clever in sticking to a short menu of afternoon teas, cakes, soups and sandwiches rather than pandering to the overly cooked fried and burger brigade and this makes for a very selective feeling to the place which is very welcome. The coffee is also to a very high standard and a great choice of mellow blends. We went for prawn marie rose sandwiches (not overly filled so didn't dribble down your arm (!!) and the brie, grape and walnut sandwich, all served with crisps and salad This has a feel of a really civilised tea room yet in very inauspicious surroundings with lovely staff and very tasty food Be prepared though, it is a CASH ONLY establishment and there are no cash machines in the vicinity A lovely place and we would highly recommend although it does take a bit of a journey to find

Simply the best off-the-beaten-track cafe you'll find anywhere in the Brecon Beacons area. The entire menu is homemade and has a brilliant choice of afternoon teas and light meals. Cakes - all homemade - are great. Cream tea is best I've found in Wales and the Welsh Cakes are excellent.

On the spur of the moment having found ourselves near Merthyr after failing to get a coffee where we had planned to, we followed the plentiful signs to the tea rooms (we normally approach from the North). We arrived on spec for lunch at about 12.45 and had no trouble getting one of the gazebos that they are using during Covid. Just as well because the heavens opened as soon as we sat down and it rained all the time we were there - the gazebo was totally waterproof by the way. Everything was very well organised, as usual the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was extremely good, especially the scones which were melt in the mouth and they came with so much cream and jam. I think we will book when we go again - there was a steady stream of customers and we were lucky that "our" gazebo was booked for 3.00pm so we could squeeze in before the booked slot.

Took a long route, will use shorter next time, but so worth the trip, a real find. Delightful tea room, with home made variety of delicious food and drinks. Delightful outdoor seating, staff so helpful. Planning longer stay next time, really lovely place, thank you.

Went today for Sunday lunch with my family for my brothers birthday. The dinner was absolutely delicious, loads of everything, nothing was too much trouble and they even gave my brother a card and a slice of cake! The surroundings are beautiful and the staff are a treat! 100% recommended!

Called in with our family after a wet walk and were very pleasantly surprised to find such a lovely array of food (coffee and walnut cake to die for!), plus very helpful, friendly service and lovely relaxing environment with classical music. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

We drove to the beautiful Old Barn tearooms which we had heard a lot about and came highly recommended from friends and some family members.Easy parking and the main room with a large variety of cakes and sandwiches all homemade. They had a vegetarian menu which was very varied and popular with my daughter who tried free range egg and cress sandwiches and fresh cream with strawberry jam scones all made by the staff of the Old Barn Tearooms. At the time of our visit many families out walking and many groups of ramblers. Would definitely recommend a visit if only for wonderful food and stunning views.

After a 12 mile hike through the Brecon Beacons, my friend and I found this amazing little place for a rest bite. The service and food were both equally as excellent. We didn’t have any cash and there was no signal, yet they were trusting enough to allow us to transfer the money later in the day when we had signal. Cannot recommend enough!

My myself and husband went out for a run in the car with our grandson and great grandson and we ended up in the old barn tea rooms. This hidden gem is absolutely lovely. We had sandwiches a large pot of tea and the scones had just been baked and were (as our 5year old great grandson described) “Delectable”.The welshcakes were luvly too. All fresh home baked food is superb and the staff are very friendly. We will visit again soon I hope.

Stumbled across this hidden gem whilst walking the dog around the local reservoirs. The Barn itself is immaculately presented and clinically clean, we were greeted by a very pleasant waitress who sat us down and offered our dog some cooked ham which was a great gesture to dog lovers like ourselves.

A bit ashamed to say, this is fairly local to us but we never seem to have the time to call in but..having taken the dogs for a walk at the fabulous Torpantau woods, we decided to call in for lunch. dog friendly outside but on leads, lovely outdoor seating or if you prefer inside, tables presented with porcelain cups and saucers. All food home cooked and the choice of home made cakes is lovely. Waitress service and really quick too although it was very busy with lots of tourists from far flung places lol there today 8th August. I was so hungry I forgot to take a photo of the gorgeous ham and cheese ploughmans lunch I had and the lovely prawn marie rose sandwich, * ( came with salad and crisps) but I did take a photo as we were off home, lol, well worth a visit, such a gorgeous area I am lucky to live in.

Found this cafe on line, glad we did, the guys were so welcoming, even the dog was welcomed in. We both had the big cooked breakfast, wow, it’s not very often I actually enjoy a cooked breakfast but this was amazing, really good quality ingredients cooked perfectly. We’d happily go back.

Passing through on a biking challenge over the weekend we found this cosy authentic welsh pub. The staff were incredibly welcoming, the beer selection was perfect and they couldn’t do more for us! Would definitely return if in the area again!

Whilst I usually promote Deli-Licious as a good place to go if you have a Gluten Free (GF) diet, I was recently disappointed by their GF afternoon tea. I was pleased to hear they offered a GF afternoon tea but was left feeling let down by the poor selection and presentation. The normal afternoon tea was presented on either a picnic bench or a three tiered serving stand, mine was just put on a plate with no effort to make it look like everyone else’s in the group, making me feel like an outcast. At a cost of £16.95, it certainly wasn’t value for money.

The best breakfast for a Good 15 miles, honestly cannot fault it. Cooked to order every time and super tasty. No dried up bacon or tinned mushrooms here thanks!
