Nice, clean breakfast & super strong real coffee, what's not to like. The service was extremely polite & prompt. My only slight negative, would be the lack of parking, but not negative enough to stop me finding somewhere X
Unfriendly staff. They didn’t even check how it was throughout the meal... if they had they’d understand why most the food was left. One of the waitresses was wearing a pair of sunglasses on her head the entire time? Looked very unprofessional.

Very busy on the evening in question. Went there for a post match drink. It's not called the Harry Watkins anymore, it has been renamed the Phil Bennett.
We placed our food order… and received it 40 minutes later! Not because it was crafted with gourmet precision, but because, apparently, the owner refuses to hire enough staff.
Huge applause to the team who spent two hours running around like ants — juggling roles as waiter, cashier, barista, and probably therapist too. Their multitasking deserves a medal (or at least a break).
Dear owner, your staff are incredible, but they’re not superheroes. Please consider hiring more people so that customers can enjoy the food and the experience without needing to check their watches (or grow a beard) waiting.
To the manager reading this — thank you. Kindly pass this message along to the boss… preferably with a plate of food — and not 40 minutes later!
Although we arrived quite late in the day the staff were welcoming and provided sandwiches with accompanying salad which were obviously freshly made and delicious. The prices were reasonable and the service good. It is obviously a place where locals eat which is always a good recommendation.
At the steak and wine night tonight, the steak was perfectly cooked I had medium and my husband had well done. Everything was piping hot the chips were crispy but fluffy inside,
The staff and ambience were first class. Can’t wait to come again. 🥳
Sadly, Mrs Roberts the owner died, such a sad loss and the loss of the most delightful tea room. This was a wonderful tea room and so old,-fashioned, we will greatly miss it, now for sale in July, we hope it will be treated kindly by it's new owners.
Friendly and professional service, a reasonably priced and fresh. Chips are cooked fresh so wait times can be a little slow but rather slow and fresh than fast and stale.

Always a fave chippy until the other night when ordered chips beans and cheese. Got a really small box, with a really small portion. Not worth the money at all. Usually decent portions so a bit gutted
