We’re featured in a news story where they scammed customers that wanted to pay via card. I’d avoid going here.

Been here many times but always thought i was unfairly over charged and today was a good day as they were fined for charging everyone 50p extra for using there card machine !

Good food but pricey really bit into hour hour with the wait too Take cards for payment Nice hot Chips gravy round bread £6.50 Could have had 2sauage and peas extra in phoenix next door and a had £1 change I personally would go again and pay that much again but good food Note 2 fish chip and peas in antelope pub £12 with table service

We were visiting Anglesey and staying locally in our campervan. Popped in for fish and chips. The staff were welcoming and were happy for us to sit at one of the two tables and eat inside. The food was cooked to order. The fish and chips were fresh and perfectly cooked. The portions were generous and excellent value. Lots of customers arrived shortly after us and clearly this is a very popular fish and chip shop.

Aran's Fish & Chips is an excellent fish and chip show, with very generous portions and great service.

We visit Aran's multiple times everytime we travel to Anglesey. We crave it while we're away and look forward to it when we visit - it's always our first stop! Huge, fresh pieces of fish, amazing chips and curry sauce. Not greasy. Friendly staff

Disappointing fish and chips... it's not bad, it's just meh. Chips were greasy, portions small and the size of the fish about half what we are used to... whilst the price is higher than average.

Superb. Fish, large chips and curry sauce. Possible the nicest battered fish I've had anywhere, and I have enjoyed a lot of fish and chips over the years. Thanks to all the staff there I'm already looking forward to my never visit back home.

Worth the drive to the centre of the island of Anglesey. The fish is cooked to order and everthing is delicious. Really friendly staff and great service.

You can not get a better chippy, 100% recommended 👌🏼 The portions are very generous, the fish is maaaasive!! I'm not a big cod lover from a chippy because usually the batters too much/ heavy, but Michael at Aran gets it just right. Thin even layer with nice soft flaky fish inside that falls apart easily and not a single bone lol If you're not a big eater, one portion is just nice for two people.

We were visiting from America and found this amazing fish and chip shop. We had fish and chips, fish cake and curry sauce. Is was so yummy we had to go back a second time :) The portions are HUGE :)

We had large cod and chips plus battered sausages. Fish was a good size and cooked to order. Good portion size. As usual we split the fish and chips and there was plenty for two IMO. A good experience and would thoroughly recommend.

The fish and chips is delicious. Thin, crispy batter on the cod. Beautiful mushy peas and perfect chips. Friendly, helpful owners. We sat in and enjoyed the food.

Recently went into the fish and chip shop the food was amazing and fresh Shame that the older woman with glasses and light coloured hair has an attitude talking very rudely to the other lady that worked there Infront of a room full of customers. I have been here once or twice and the food never fails to disappoint, but won't be carrying on visiting with my child if the lady carries on...she is rude and very cheeky ....she has no respect to customers and doesn't care that there are people in the room. Doesn't really show a good example to children that visit ...

Nice food, bit of a wait for fish but nice. Only negative only takes cash, not evryone takes cash out with them these days. If I didn't have some cash in car to cover I would have had to go elsewhere.

Popped in for Fish and mushy peas - had to wait for the fish to be cooked but boy, was it worth it. Tastiest fish I'd ever eaten with lovely crisp batter and a good size too. Peas were a bit bland for me and could have done with some seasoning but overall very good. Didn't have chips so can't comment on those.

Called in today for chips fish mushy peas and curry sauce. Absolutely delicious. The fish cooked to order, crisp batter and white flesh melted in the mouth. The chips peas and curry so tasty and very reasonably priced. Also bought jumbo sausage chips and gravy for the family which went down well too. Really friendly staff and spotless premises. Will definitely call in again when back in Llangefni.

Ordered chicken burger and chips from here burger was passable but paltry amount of chips for £2.30 served in same container doubt I will return

Got to say one of the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Chips were lukewarm, stale and bland. Didn't taste fresh at all. Fish was tiny and cooked okay on the inside but the batter was greasy and unpleasant. Ordered gravy as well and it tasted vile, like dirty tap water, tasted nothing like any fish and chip shop gravy I've ever had before. It's a shame because the outside of the building looks nice and you'd expect places on Anglesey to have great fish and chips, but this is very, very poor. I can't recommend them and I wouldn't go here again.

Fish, chips and mushy peas. £5.60, £3.50 (large chips) and £1.50. So £10.60 for a portion of fish chips and peas. Quality was just OK. Nothing to rave about. I'm not sure I'll return in a hurry. Decent sized fish, but batter was a bit stodgy and greasy. Chips were not very hot, and for £3.50, I thought they should be more generous. Mushy peas were quite watery, and certainly not good value at £1.50. I understand that prices are being forced up, but I think that the quality needs to be spot on if they are charging so much. I thought the overall experience here was underwhelming.

Really lovely chippy, one of the best on the island in my opinion! And the staff are all really lovely are wonderful, there was 3 of us and we ordered and adults chicken nuggets and chips with mushy peas, fish and a small portion of chips and half and half chips curry and rice and a can of coke(it was all absolutely lovely!) And it cost £19.50 and for the size of the portions it's quite good!

Jumbo sausage and chips weren't very nice at all from here sausage was the usual taste and the chips tasted dry and cardboard like, extra star given because they do nice chicken nuggets for my son.

An excellent Fish & Chip shop here in Llangefni, Anglesey. On this occasion I ordered a small chips (with salt and vinegar), a battered sausage, a fishcake and a scallop. The price paid was very reasonable, and the food tasted delicious. :) The staff are also very pleasant and friendly, and the shop itself is clean and tidy and well presented etc. Thank-you. :)

Absolutely disappointed in the service I received from the staff taking orders, to start with the shop was heaving, so I stood outside until the queue had gone down, with covid you/I would of expected a queuing system, there wasn't. When I eventually went in I ordered 2 fish as specified, 2 customers behind me got served before I did I said nothing but when a third customer was about to be served before me I let them know about it. The staff then had the cheek to serve the second customer and the customer after me the fish I had ordered ( Im not a regular customer they were, this shouldn't make a difference ) obviously my masked face didn't fit. I had to wait a while to receive my order, was about to ask for my money back as felt I was made to wait long on purpose, then i eventually got my order. I am a local and definitely won't be going back.

Tried several dishes from Aran now and well it can be hit and miss. Sometimes the fish is beautiful but the chips are rotten other times the chips are lovely but the fish ain't so nice.

First night in anglesey and looking for some quick food for the kids. Arans were really friendly and reassuringly busy. The cod and chips were very generous portions and the curry sauce was great.

Ordered 3 Fish Chips and Peas on 09/07/21 over the phone, drove 15 mins there to pick it up, and 15 mins home only to find the order had absolutely no peas at all on any of the three meals, but of course I was charged for all of it, nearly £30! If the girl on the phone can't even take down an order properly, what chance have we got. Don't bother, go elsewhere.

Chips were horrible they hadn't pealed the potatoes and all the skin was still on them and very expensive for the food

Excellent quality last year but 2 visits recently have been extremely disappointing - chips not cooked thoroughly (hard) & fish dripping with grease.

Visited whilst on holiday in Anglesey glad we did portion size excellent .... fish cooked really nicely to order when I arrived. No complaints if I lived closer would be back — can’t comment on the whole menu we all had fish chips peas — lovely

Just had fish and chips from Aran. Amazing!, We only have this treat very occasionally but this was the best ever. Crispy but soft chips. Succulent fish and very generous portions. I could not fault it 🤪 We had a takeaway. Tremendous value

Due to lockdown some residents in Aberffraw village have been self isolating. They were missing their chippy food. I decided to do a chippy run for them 15 people I put an order in for. The staff were brilliant. Took the order not only had it ready by 5pm but had put the names on each food order. Which made it easier for me to deliver. Fantastic service. Great food.... Would highly recommend.

Very helpful staff who were very welcoming. They do a Havana veggie burger. Shop was very clean an open, which is always encouraging. Often as a vegan or vegatarian, you can be made to feel uncomfortable or that youre being difficult, however this certainly wasnt the case here. The staff were more then happy to help, they also do gluten free chips & steamed fish if wanted👍 Be nice to see more vegan options on the board in all take aways, but its getting there 🙂

The place is spotlessly clean. The staff are great. The price is reasonable, the food is good. A top notch chippy. *Edit* I've been here several times more since my initial review, and it's been consistently the best chippy in the area. It's good to see quality being consistently delivered. Second time at this plaice, must say the food is outstanding and very helpfull and polite staff.. Very resonable on price as well.... Next time would like Meat and Potato Pie though the Steak and Ale pie was nice!!

Driving home very late from work, decided to treat us both to a fish and chip supper.Had to wait in the queue for a while, but the girls were very busy and nobody was complaining about the wait. One lady kept informing me on the delay and said that my order would be in five minutes time. True to her word, said order arrived and I was on my way home. Big portions of chips, only problem was she had put salt on when I said I did not want this. The fish and peas were marvellous, only ate a few of my chips. I will be back soon.

Excellent service, Staff (and owner) couldn't be more helpful. I am vegetarian - chips cooked separately to meat and fish - great vegetarian choice. Massive servings of fish for my partner. Absolutely recommend and will happily drive 7 miles to visit again. A+++

We were over on the island to buy a van, we popped into Llangefni and noticed The Aran on the way....just the right time for a fish and chip lunch!Friendly reception when we entered, they fry fish to order which tends to be good sign, and certainly was in the case. Opted for the small chips, so glad I did cos the portion of both fish and chips were huge. Served in a recyclable container which much bigger than the usual, and a real plus point. Some reviews have slated the chips but I thought they were tasty and crispy, the fish was beautifully cooked. The price is a little more than we usually pay but the quality and quantity gave it value.I would certainly return if in the area again, highly recommended
