Theodore's in Isle of Anglesey

Excellent from start to finish. I had the fish of the evening and my wife had a steak. Cheescaake was to die for . Sunday lunch was epic so we decided to try the normal menu. Did not disappoint

We had tapas in theodore’s on saturday night and its was absolutely lovely. The staff were so helpful and the cocktails were amazing. We will be back soon

Excellent meal. I had the beef rib burger was one of nicest burgers I have had. I would visit again without hesitation. Well done guys

Been a few times but decided to go for the Sunday Roast Beef. lovely meal and look forward to our next visit.

Amazing food, best I’ve probably ever had! Service was 5*! Very polite, friendly & welcoming!! Would highly recommend! Emma one of the waitresses couldn’t do more for you, absolute lovely place to go!

We waited up to 80minutes for our mains to arrive,we left before our food was ready as the restaurant was very cold,no food seeming to leave the kitchen,disappointed with Theodore's

Disappointed as previously had good food here, visited a couple of times since and it’s not been good. Food tonight was covered in an excessive amount of oil, two dished didn’t come so we had to ask for them again from the waitress, asked for no sauces / garlic mayo / aioli, and the dish came with sauce on it even though it didn’t state it on the menu and we specifically said no sauces, no replacement offered just took off the bill, concern that if this was an allergen it could have been a different scenario. Music went off half way through the evening and not put back on, atmosphere was quiet and awkward with only 3 other tables in, also most diners in their coats as the room was cold. Overheard conversations from the kitchen on weekend plans and if they will get any reviews tonight. Just generally unprofessional.

Went for food to Theodore’s last weekend, the food was absolutely amazing couldn’t fault it at all and the front of house staff were so lovely and welcoming! Will definitely be coming back soon!

Unfortunately we had a really bad experience tonight. The food took over 90 minutes to arrive and when it did it was appalling. The market fish was clearly a seabass fillet bought off the shelf and it was burnt to a crisp. The sauce that accompanied it was so salty it was inedible. The prawns were also completely over cooked to the point we returned them. The lamb shoulder dish was what looked like kebab meet which was burnt to a crisp. The pototas in ‘pototas bravos’ were cremated and salty. The pork belly was so over cooked it should have been called crackling. Our fries were forgotten and we had to ask for them three times. I don’t usually leave reviews and would always prefer to talk to management/ owners direct but when we asked there was no one there to speak with. For a £160 meal for 5 we felt so disappointed it seemed only right to let someone know.

Unfortunately not a good experience. Only us there, but still had to wait 15 minutes just to have drinks, The food took 40- 50 minutes to arrive. The limited menu on the sheet on the table was different from the online one. Quite amateur, really. The food was not of any great quality, considering the high price. I would have liked to leave a good review but there was way too much going wrong there. Complacency.

Went here on a Thursday night as the menu looked good. Food was disappointing and over priced for what it is. The “steak of the day” was probably an old bit of rump for £28. Asked for medium-rare. It came medium-well and was very “weathspoons” in flavour. Other dishes very average. On the upside the pale ale was good and so were the “hand cut chips” plus the atmosphere was quite nice. Just think they need better chefs or pricing to reflect the food.

Amazing meal this evening. The chicken supreme never disappoints 😋 & the Ribs were massive and tasty. Lovely meal, lovely atmosphere and our host Emma was wonderful.

Went on mothering Sunday at tea time. Arrived and sat around tables of screaming children. 2 roast dinners, only 2 veg options which were both overcooked and potatoes, beef was like boiled not roasted. Crispy Beef chilli way to hot and too sweet and beef to crispy, not ediable. Would not recommend

Really impressed with Theodore’s, not just because we also have a Theo! Amazing menu, we wanted o order everything. We settled on (just) 5 tapas dishes between us, and a main each. It was probably too much, but I ate everything as it was all so nice. Em had the crispy shredded chilli beef for her main and it ese incredible x better than any Chinese I’ve had recently. I had the sea bass and it was very small but really nice. Special shout out to Emma and Brogan who really looked after us.

Sorry to say that after all the hype, it didn't live up to expectations for me. Average food, very expensive drinks, young staff working flat out to serve and please but no direction from senior staff. Might give them another chance but there are better places to eat in Porthaethwy.

Table booked for 8 for a friends 40th. Didn’t get seated until around 9. Food took around an hour to arrive, and even then not only did it arrive in bits, food was missing despite being preordered. The young staff were incredible but it’s a shame their manager wouldn’t show face and instead sent out the younger members of staff to send news of missing food. Pizza for £18 made on a pre-made base? Starters missing? Mains missing? Won’t be returning.

First look at the place was lovely and staff were very good, although we quickly realised that we were double booked as We had booked a large table for a friends 40th birthday, we then had to wait nearly an hour just for us to get seated, once we finally got seated and food started to come out an hour later, many people’s starter were either wrong or didn’t arrive at all, mains came out which was shambles a few people were left without food due to management error, overpriced for the quality of food, although I must state the staff worked very hard to try and bring it around but unfortunately the owner and manager quite honestly had no idea what they were doing, and sent the young staff instead of going out and facing the error they made!

Went for a friend's birthday doo. All food was pre ordered, days before. Booked for 8pm, food arrived 9.45pm. Sides were missing, and even when asked about, they never arrived, as didn't the condiments. Friend's main course never arrived. My crispy chickens was, well, only the crispy left, and hard at that, drowned in chilly, first hot meal I've not been able to finish, if my chips had arrived it would have helped. Atmosphere was ok, but there were plenty of us there. Young staff were doing there best, but all in all, not somewhere I would go again for food, shame. Hopefully they can get it right for others, but not me...

Party of 20 on a busy Saturday night. The service from start to finish was perfect and the food was simply amazing! All served together no long waiting. Overnight brisket - omg!❤️ Highly recommended!!!!!

Superb food and service. A lovely independent restaurant. We’re very pleased to have visited.

Came here with my partner for a birthday meal. It was one of the best meals I've ever had. We only had a main meal but there was plenty of starter and dessert choice on the menu. I went for the brisket it was amazing! presentation was just as good as the taste. Plenty to choose from on the menu for different dietary requirements. Highly recommend Theodore's and looking forward to visit again in the future.

Brilliant meal and friendly staff

Nice but not outstanding. We had a roast dinner but made a mistake of having a starter( which staff said was small, it wasn't! ) Food was tasty but just too much which was off putting. Roast potatoes not to our liking as over cooked due to be cooked in meat juices which reminded me of my grannies cooking and were hard to cut. Drinks on the expensive side. £6.50 for a pint of shipyard and £9 for a large wine.Staff were friendly ,attentive and hard working. Would return but not for a roast as would like to try what else is on offer.

Had a steak and it was very grisly so very disappointed

The food was excellent amazing infact but what let it down for us was the minute we walked in and told them our name we were lunged at straight away saying we were 7mins late (although we had tried to call them 3 times but was engaged to say we were late because of the tea time rush over thebridge) but didn't get a chance to say when she said because we were late we now had to realise we only had 1hour and 15mins left as the second seating was at 6.30! As we realised there were a couple sitting in the next table and they were not in any rush and we had arrived after them...don't get me wrong the food was really good but the time setting given to each table should be longer to enjoy an exquisite meal for the prices we pay!

Could have been a perfect evening but for the service. We were taken to our table and then they seemed to forget we were there. 40 minutes later we managed to order our food. It wasn't only us either. We could hear apology after apology on the delay in tables getting their meals. The plus side is that the food is fantastic. Improve the service and you'll be the best place to go by a mile.

We had date night here. Our food was amazing 👏 , and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Starters, we had cheese garlic bread and prawns with chorizo. Our main fish of the day, which haddock with potatoes and beef with rice. Impeccable service, great atmosphere, chilled music not too loud 👍. I highly recommend Theodores

I am conflicted with this review. But as this is a new opened place, I ll give it the benefit of the doubt. They was a lot of waiting between servings, and we had some issues with the food when it was first served, this was rectified, and it was a very enjoyable Sunday lunch slash birthday lunch. Lot of room for improvement but showing great potential to be 5☆ one day. Parking is next door and the restaurant has a good feel.

Visited here for my birthday two weeks ago and wasn’t disappointed! Drink, starters, main, dessert, all perfect and served with a smile! Will be visiting again soon

Went for Sunday Lunch and it was spectacular, we cleared our plates and you know when a restaurant is good when the tables fall silent as people are served their food and people are too busy eating to talk. Staff were all fantastic too, rallying around a little one on a neighbouring table making sure they were okay after a small mishap. We’ll be back in no time as the Sunday lunch is one of the best we’ve had on the Island. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.

After a false start (waiting a long time to be served) we thoroughly enjoyed the meals we had. The waitresses were so attentive and helpful that more than made up for the uneasy beginning to the evening. The food was delicious and the portions were substantial. We thoroughly recommend this restaurant and we will most certainly be returning there as we can't believe our luck in finding this little gem of a place.

Second time dinning here food was incredible again. Atmosphere,staff,drinks 10/10. Will be returning & can’t wait!

Been to Theodore’s many of times food is buy far the best I’ve ever had good portions amazing staff really polite the whole team goes above and beyond and runs like a well oiled machine keep up the brilliant work chef netherlands and team. See you all very soon

Already been here to eat a handful of times in the last weeks, meals and portions have been perfect. Even managed to change an item on a dish for me due to me being a fussy eater. Service/staff are very polite helpful and go the extra mile. Keep up the good work team theodores

Table booking for 3 at 7pm, drinks order immediately as we sat down, the waitress gave us time to absorb the amazing menu, starters arrived within 20 minutes of ordering and our main came within 15 minutes of finishing our starters. The staff frequently asked us if all was ok and did we need anything else, the quality of the food is outstanding, never have we tasted flavour like it, some items on menu were pricey but you pay for quality! I hope nothing but huge success for this talented chef and team, thank you 👌

Lovely food. Dined with a group of friends. Had the crispy chilli chicken starter which was amazing and the chicken supreme for main. No faults with anyone’s meals. Portions were fantastic sizes, didn’t necessary look enough but most definitely was more than enough. Highly recommend!!

We dined at Theodore's tonight and it was simply fantastic. The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere from the moment we walked inside, and the staff were so kind and attentive. Meurig in particular was amazing and made our dining experience even more wonderful. The food was on the pricey side, but in my opinion was worth it; the portions were not shy and the food tasted incredible (I highly recommend the crispy chicken starter and belly pork as a main or a starter). We will definitely be coming back. Thank you all for a brilliant night!

Service was slow, but polite. Small portions. Large bill. Food quality OK. Atmosphere was claustrophobic and would have been better without the music. Probably won't be returning.

15th June. Booked for 7pm, drinks order taken at 7.30, arrived 7.40. By 8pm our food order had still not been taken. We paid for our drinks and left. The couple sitting opposite us left at the same time, having not been able to attract the waitress’s attention to order drinks. The group next to us had arrived immediately after us. By the time we left their order had similarly not been taken.

Lovely food and service but I was not impressed by the live music - too loud, too cheesy.

Really lovely food and service, but the music was a little loud and when the feller started singing Bryan Adams, I had to go outside for some fresh air.

I went for a meal and was rather disappointed with the portion of food that I was being served. The pricing is way to much for you what you’re getting. Although the food tasted nice but the steak which is £29! Was just full of fat. Very polite staff

Staff were kind however service was slow and unfortunately it wasn't busy so no excuse there. Found the portions were undersized and overpriced. I ordered the hake which tasted lovely however one tiny half fillet and 4 new potatoes accompanied with purée left me leaving hungry. I feel a bit stung paying £22 for such a tiny portion. I did mention to the staff about the tiny portion and was assured they'd speak to the chef unfortunately i was left without receiving an update. Such a shame as I was looking forward to the meal and a new restaurant in menai but found there was a lot to be desired.
