Had amazing food at Langdons today. The fish peas and chunky chips was the best I've tasted for a long time. Fish cakes, chicken burgers and chicken tikka curry was also amazing. Staff very polite and friendly and helpful. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

We wanted a family night out with young infants to great grandad. We opted for an early evening time & had a great time. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Everyone enjoyed the food, most of the young ones having pizza too big to finish. I had the meat combo. Great flavours & again too much to finish. Everyone had a great meal & good night out.

Thought we would give it a try, it is a lovely spot. Sunday lunch really good apart from no Yorkshire pudding but food really nice,, only downside was staff really young and felt like they needed more training and guidance in customer service, Menus could do with being laminated as paper gets messy, will come again

As a local on Anglesey, we often pop to Langdon Holyhead. We were dissatisfied last night. The staff were very friendly and good service but the food ( haven eaten here 2 weeks previously)was not good, the fryer needed clean oil! The starter was multi coloured fried, or had freezer burn, not as we had last time, the chicken burger, burnt batter, dark , bacon burnt overcooked, coleslaw best bit, and very expensive. Shame as we live 5 minutes away and always had good food here previously.

As an Anglesey resident I've been meaning to pop into Langdons for a while now. Sorry to say, it wasn't worth the wait. Tea time on a Wednesday, 1 other table in, - we were seated and presented with 1 menu for all 4 of us.... which we passed around and around and around. What's the'catch of the day'? ( we are sat on the harbour after all) - "we haven't got one today!" Drinks and food ordered, other table left, I spent all evening looking at their dirty uncleared plates. Enter another table.. Food arrived - " did the child want beans /peas, I forgot to ask?" Beans arrived. Food pleasant. Can I order more drinks? ...... drinks arrived. Food eaten . ...... Can I order desert?........ other table's pizza ready - I know thus because of the bellow from the kitchen. Child's ice cream and teenager's brownie arrive, delivered by chef with his thumb in the ice cream. We wait, ice cream melts, third dessert appears, no spoons ! What a shame!

We were visiting Holyhead today so I did some googling and came across Langdon’s so booked. So pleased that we did! Amazing food - hubby had the mussels which would have fed two, and I had the Harissa Spiced Lamb on a flatbread which was amazing. When next visiting Anglesey we will definitely go back. Doggy friendly too.

We visited early evening for drinks and a meal. The staff were welcoming and very friendly. The food was excellent, I believe they have a new chef. We shared a variety of small plates, the tempura prawns and pork in a bao bun were superb. A great atmosphere, I’d thoroughly recommend this place.

Booked a table and was told in advance the full menu wasn’t available. Good work as it managed our expectations. Same friendly voice welcomed us on arrival. Great window seat. Cold beers were v welcome. Hand thrown pizzas were very good. My Hawaiian had good toppings & was tasty. Sons spicy chicken was quite mild. But good flavour to it. Slight bill confusion (I didn’t have a cocktail !?!). But a lovely experience. Try it out.

Lovely location but the service is a huge let down. We had lunch then decided to stay for drinks, wow we felt so awkward. The staff were clearly in a rush to get rid of us, one staff member open the door to make us all cold it was painfully awkward. We weren't offered last ordered, (6pm on a bank holiday Sunday) bar was closed down and then the staff stood behind the bar drinking. Felt so uncomfortable we quickly drank our drinks and left. Was such a disappointing end to our evening. I wouldn't recommend the service throughout was poor and very sloppy beautiful location just such a shame the way it's run is so poor.

Booked for a Sunday lunch carvery. We were given a table opposite the rest room. The door to the rest room would not shut and if a cubicle door was left open we could see the toilet bowl from our table. Nobody using the rest room made any effort to close the door properly. Even had they tried (which my wife did), the door would swing open because it didn't have a catch. The floors in the cubicles had an amount of urine on them. The restaurant was very noisy, with tables quite close together and music quite loud. Added to that was the small child on the table right next to ours who had a continuous hacking cough. Although this was not the restaurant's fault, we felt quite uncomfortable in these post-pandemic times. We asked to move to another table, but were told that the restaurant was fully-booked with all the empty tables reserved specifically. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave, at which point we were told that there had been a 'no-show' and we could move to another table at the far end of the restaurant. We decided to stay, took our places, then went to queue at the carvery. The food was pretty average. The meats were beautifully cooked, as were the roast parsnips. However, the roast potatoes were hard and overcooked as if they had been left and then reheated. The Yorkshire puddings were flat and stodgy, which made them quite tough. The sprouts and carrots were ok, but the broccoli was overcooked and watery. The gravy was too thick and had the consistency of custard (which is fine if you like thick gravy!) The staff were polite and attentive even though it was very busy. It is obviously a popular restaurant, but we won't be visiting again.

We visited Langdons whilst on a short break to Holyhead with my elderly parents & 17 year old daughter. It had been a very hot day, the restaurant was baking when we first got there, but it did cool down once the sun went down. As with many hospitality places right now, they were a little short staffed, so service was quite slow….. BUT all the staff were lovely. Even my parents said so & they’re pretty hard to please!! This is the reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5.The food was lovely. The portions huge! I highly recommend the pizzas, they’re lovely. The garlic bread is huge too, my Mum & my daughter should have shared one rather than have one each, but you live and learn. The views from the restaurant are gorgeous. Especially at sunset. We went and sat outside once we’d finished eating, we could have been abroad, it was so pretty!Overall - inspite of the slow service (understandable during these Covid times) we had a lovely evening and would recommend.

Booked this for a family meal, with some anxiety as recent reviews were not great. Our meal was great, and the service was excellent for the first 3/4 of our time there, but they clearly need more staff during peak times. We waited 25 mins to get a dessert menu ( if it wasn’t for the kids we would have gone without). This is the only reason I’m not giving a 5 star review. The garlic breads are huge so be warned- at £7 you’d expect something good, and they are! Salt & pepper chicken goujons were lovely too. The view was really nice and the courteous host explained some of the buildings history to us which were across the harbour. Would go again at a non peak time.

I went for dinner on Saturday evening with a friend. We booked on the basis of the menu and reviews. Very disappointed on arrival told no menu that night just a buffet. Very take it or leave it attitude. Staff did not seem to really care at all. We noticed another table had pizza told think we have run out of dough, then noticed another table was not on buffet. Felt totally let down buffet food just warm only choice for vegetarian was mac n cheese with chips peas n carrots! Had no choice but stay but having looked forward to a good meal a pile it high on one plate was not what we expected. Customer service totally lacking they had my number why not ring and warn me in advance. Surely they could have offered a more limited menu if they had staff problems? Will not be back!

Visited for dinner as a family on recommendation from our air bnb hosts - who 'have never had a bad meal there'To be completely fair - we also had a very good meal, but it was let down by service touches.Faux paus #1. On arrival- its not completely clear what to do.. some people came in after us and walked through into the bar area and sat down- they were later seated at a table, so I'm guessing that's what you do as a regular. As someone who has never been there before- we sort of loitered around between tge front door and the bar waiting for someone to acknowledge our existence and show us to the table. This took several minutes as seemingly all the service staff were busy, and were focussed on their service tasks and were avoiding looking at us.. a bit uncomfortable as a customer!Eventually we were seated, the service was fine and we had a nice meal..Faux paus #2.. Then we asked for the bill, and waited.. a good 10-15 minutes later (when the restaurant was already at least half empty as other tables had/were leaving) - we got up and left as our kids were clearly very tired. I had to walk to the bar and ask for the bill.At this stage, I'd still have given a 4 star rating as the experience on a whole, was good. (Despite my irritating tired children)I was then presented with a bill that looked very high vs what I'd roughly guessed it might be.I looked over it, and realised we had been billed for 2 bottles of wine - vs 1 ordered. I pointed this out and it was corrected.I then looked over the revised bill and realised that the '3 for £17' small plates had been billed at £7 each (£42 for 6 vs menu listed £34).This was corrected- I paid the bill and left, feeling that the £110 dining experience was marred by service shortcomings. One of these things- sure, no worries- stuff happens.. but 2 bill errors on top of the poor start to dinner leaves a bit to be desired in my book for what is positioned as a nice dining standard restaurant. It is unfortunate - because as I said, the food was good and our table well positioned with a nice view of the marina...

Found recommendations online for Sunday lunch so thought we’d try here. We booked ( it appears they have set times and the food is then freshly made for each “sitting”) and it was busy for early January. The carvery was excellent. Huge choice of fresh vegetables and five roast meats. We all had beef and lamb and both were tender and delicious. Although pretty stuffed we fancied the marshmallow dessert - what a surprise when it came with a little fire dish to toast them ourselves. Novel, great idea! All in all excellent food, great views, attentive staff and cracking value for money. We will be returning - soon!

Just want to say as a lone female Mancunian hiker last summer, this was my favourite watering hole and the food is so very well cooked and tasty. A good range of drinks too. The bar & waiting staff are a delight and so welcoming. A mixed custom of friendly locals and tourists. Rather quiet in the daytime but that's not such a bad thing if you don't want too much hustle and bustle. Popular in the evening. Good family place too. The views of the marina and coast are great. Holyhead deserves more attention and investment, it's historic, unpretentious and scenic along the harbour and the coastal walks are a dream. Just needs some TLC , from the powers that be. The locals couldn't be more down to earth, warm & friendly! Well done Langdons staff. A great place to chill in the day or spend an evening and a comfortable place for an lone female.

Staff always very friendly, however in the busy times they are sort of all over the place. Should have just dedicated behind the bar staff, dealing with drinks and bills, we waited nearly 10 mins to pay the bill with about 5 members of staff just fly past as they were so busy, finally someone behind the bar making drinks said to another member of staff to serve us as we were waiting a long time. They did apologise so was fine, but I think should be a more senior member taking control of things.

We recently went to Langdons in Holyhead with some friends, and we all enjoyed the experience very much. The food we ordered all came piping hot and served with sauces etc all as ordered, Steaks were super, all cooked as requested. One of our party had Cod Loin, which was, again, cooked to perfection.

Absolutely brilliant from beginning to end. We laughed loads and tasted fresh food. Fish was a bit small. Burger 10/10. Steaks just as we like and I love their salads. Alex and Lucy could not do enough for us. Made my uncles night that they thought he was my husband . Thank you. A night never to be forgotten

The customer service here is second to none. They were quick to respond on Facebook and adapted one of the dishes for us, a normal batter rather than beer battered. The portions aren't huge which I prefer as I hate wasting food. We were lucky to get a table as it was busy. Would definitely come back

A friend (mother) and I decided to taste the delights of this restaurant and were impressed. One of the best salads. The vegetarian food is fresh and tasty. Debbie looked after us and nothing was too much. Peter (I think) the chef knows his job. We will be back. Thank you

We were stopping across the road and this made an ideal venue to eat. Called in the afternoon for a coffee and met Alex. They were originally booked up but rang us later on to accommodate. All six of us had starters, mains and pudding and the food was fantastic and we were all stuffed lol. Lovely place to eat and will be using again when in the area and the bill was realistic too which was a nice surprise. Fabulous evening had by all....many thanks guy's :-)

Visited as a family of 5 after reading other reviews but sadly we were really disappointed. The Facebook menu we were told to check when booking is an old menu so don’t expect what you see there. I was really hoping for some fresh fish dishes as I thought I had read it was a seafood restaurant (my mistake) but there were only 2 fish mains I could see and both were fried fish with chips and mushy peas. None of our dishes were outstanding and it didn’t really feel like fresh home made food to order. For us the restaurant had a very functional feel and despite being a Saturday night it lacked any kind of vibrant atmosphere which was a shame. I realise lots of other people love Langdons so as with all TA reviews this is just a personal opinion. Staff were nice and friendly though.

We visited this restaurant in August 2018. The staff could not have been more helpful and the food was delicious. The views are really beautiful. I highly recomment this as a good value for money and excellent cuisine experience.

Recently ate at Langdons - lovely food, relaxed friendly atmosphere and nice marina location. Lovely veggie options - the ‘Goddess Bowl’ was just that. Good value for money and near the harbour breakwater and maritime museum; both worth a visit.

Myself and my 3 young daughters went last night. Food was fantastic, the pizza and garlic bread were out of this world and my little one loved the campfire marshmallow pudding. Lovely service as well.

Excellent service by debi and a lovely blonde lady both very attentive ....our 1st course was lush the prawns are to die for massive! and nothing is to much trouble for the kitchen !, any extra be it sauce or aconpliment not even on the menu! ( if they can do it ! They will) and the 2nd course was even better...the stacked burger was massive and even though we couldn't finish it they wrapped it up for us to take home, along with garlic bread and some left over pulled pork.. all in all you won't regret visiting here for food!, A1 and deffo worth a trip

Moderate expensive food needs more attention to detail to make it worth the money ...starters on the large side and accompanying salad bland and needs dressing .....fish medley unexciting consists of prawns and a white fish both battered basically glorified fish and chips ...burgers and pizza done really well. Gluten free adapted for starters and mains exceptionally well but not on desserts. Overall ok meal but expensive for family of 8 at £220 with not much alcohol involved.

Pre dinner drinks on balcony overlooking open golf course and countryside with the Menai Straits in the background are ultra relaxing. The Service is excellent and the choice and quality of food are to a high standard.

Going on the strength of other reviews, we booked a table in the dog friendly area of The Crown. Having had and a 2 hour walk beforehand, a well deserved refuelling stop. Quite chilly in that area of the pub. Cheap lunch menu. Specials board more expensive. We had Scampi & fries, small battered cod & chips. Both came with peas. I had much higher expectations and was disappointed in the portion size(5 scampi pieces). Would consider giving it another try sometime, go in the evening and dine in the restaurant area. Pay the more expensive dinner prices, in the hope that the food would not be cooked from frozen and the portion sizes would be satisfying.

Another great meal and service. I had cod loin it was so nice. My husband had sea bass all cooked perfectly with great friendly service. The food never disappoints at this pub highly recommend.
