Sadly, Mrs Roberts the owner died, such a sad loss and the loss of the most delightful tea room. This was a wonderful tea room and so old,-fashioned, we will greatly miss it, now for sale in July, we hope it will be treated kindly by it's new owners.

When we first walked in, it seemed really quirky and old which is lovely, however we soon noticed that there was an unpleasant odour. We came for afternoon tea however there wasn’t this option on the menu. We ordered cheese and onion sandwiches (they only had brown bread) and scones with cream and jam. The sandwiches were filled far too much and the bread just fell apart. The scones came out ready prepared with the jam and cream already on. They looked lovely however the scones were very dry, in fact, one of them was totally inedible, they did remove this one from the bill though. Overall, not a nice experience which is a shame as some of the reviews were very positive.

A lovely quirky place and easy parking. When we walked in it was old and smelly and cobwebs on the ceiling. The tea was lovely. We had cheese and onion sandwiches and Fruit Scones with jam and cream. The sandwiches were fully loaded with cheese and some large lumps of onion only had brown bread. The Scones were pre made up with jam and cream when it came to the table. One of the scones was very dry. This was reflected in our payment. Cash only. Honestly would not go back. Such a same.

Wow! We were on a brief visit to the town and happened to see this tea room. We didn’t know anything about but it looked lovely, an old looking Welsh house in the middle of the town. So many places serve food from caterers but this seemed genuinely home made. We had tea served in china with ginger cake and scone with jam and butter. Delicious. The place is really old and quirky but seems very genuine. The best tea room I have been in for a long time. Please don’t change before we visit again. But, cash only, which fits with the ambience.

What an amazing tea room! So pretty, full of character and unique , like stepping back in time , with bric a brac , memorabilia , antiques and much loved family heirlooms, I could have stayed there all day ! As it was a beautiful sunny day , we sat outside , plus we had 2 dogs with us and as not really hungry ordered their homemade soup and bread and tea , which was hot and tasty . I stepped inside and spoke to a lovely lady who turned out to to be the owner , she told me about the tearoom and its family history , and it was so Interesting There are homemade cakes , afternoon tea , sandwiches of all sorts available, a proper Welsh tea room, situated in a quiet spot off the main road . Would recommend a visit to any one, as its so pretty and quaint, offering lovely uncommercialised food and a lovely spot to sit and take a break from modern life !

We have just returned from a holiday in cricceath and came across this lovely cafe on our first day. Out of all the cafe,s, pubs and restaurants we visited, this was by far our favourite. Run by the same family since 1933 and you could easily spend all day just looking at all the amazing nik naks inside. The family what run it are so freindy, the husband even gave us a lift back to where we were staying twice as it was quite a walk. Anyone visiting Cricceath, I would definitely recommend you pay a visit.

Niceish garden area and dog friendly. Service by the young waitresses was really excellent. Food and drink on offer was quite limited, unimaginative, and old fashioned (eg no latte, just a handful of dull sandwiches), although there were a number of cakes available. While we were there several groups sat down, looked at the dog eared menus and left. Scones home made but definitely not fresh and came already smothered in jam..and very lightly whipped (squirty?) cream! Prices were reasonable. When we go to Criccieth, we always stop and have something to eat at Caffi Cwrt. The jug of milky coffee is always delicious, served piping hot in proper china willow pattern cups and saucers. The Café serves light lunches, sandwiches and a very good selection of homemade cakes. My personal favourite cake is the lemon slice. Hubby always finishes off with crumpets which ooze 'proper' butter. The interior is fascinating, with many items of Welsh history on display in the two inner rooms. There is also outside seating in front of the café and a tea garden at the back, which is open when the weather is good. The staff are all very obliging and we always get a sincere welcome when we return. The only unfortunate thing is that the café closes over the winter months, but no problem, as we will be looking forward to our next visit in Spring next year.

This was a beautiful garden/seating area that was let down by the staff and honestly the food. They were quick to serve us initially but then the staff just gave up. They were sat visibly at a table playing on their phones whilst we waited to order our scones after our sandwhiches- which by the way were pathetic for a cafe. I eat out for something extra than what I could get at home but I make better sandwiches myself- it didn’t seem worth the money. Honestly, walk past and visit the cafe up the road. Don’t waste your money or time to be served tea in a filthy cosy and milk covered with a rag.

Came across this place today, from the outset it’s what we have all come to expect from a cosy little tearoom. Cute inviting exterior, small seated courtyard, that’s where it ends. We sat outside, waited around 15 mins to be served, still no one arrived to take order. Went indoors to place the order only to be told they take the order at your table. Sat again for another 10 mins. Young girl arrived to take our order, the girls here are lovely and polite. Order arrived, a tea and a coffee, along with a small jug of milk covered with an old looking material (rag) grim. It got worse. The sandwiches and date&walnut; scone came. Firstly there was a hair in one sandwich, on inspecting my own cheese sandwich we found yet another grey hair. Not wanting to eat them we checked out the scone, and yes there was number 3. At this we decided to leave. Popped indoors to let them know about the problem and the first woman was lovely, we did pay for the drinks as we’d had half a cup each. As we were waiting for our change a woman came out of a side door to ask what the problem was. I again explained about the hairs. Reply, we’ll thats highly unusual. Her manner was rude and unapologetic.

Sat in the sunshine outside the front and had a very pleasant coffee watching the world go by Our menfolk spent ages inside looking at the glorious artefacts that adorn every single space inside the cafe. It is an Aladdin’s cave

This very traditional tearoom, with every surface covered in old pictures and nicknacks, small but comfortable with really friendly personal service, offering a good selection of cakes and savories. we pumped for cream scones and tea, all very good. One of those places very different from the chains popping up everywhere and well worth a visit.

Popped in while staying in Criccieth for some refreshments. It is a little cramped inside and claustrophobic, however, lovely cup of tea. Would recommend if you like traditional surroundings.

Fantastic family run tearoom with lots of scrumptious homemade sweets (cakes) and savouries on offer as well as the usual teas and coffees. Really friendly and personal service of an exception high standard and very quick. The setting is outstanding and the once family home is crammed full of historic family artifacts that a typical long standing family would have acquired and used throughout their lives.

An old fashioned independent tea room. Quaint but serves good tea and coffee plus large slices of excellent cake. Well worth searching out.

I recommend the milky coffee. Small cup and coffee served in pot. It filled the cup three times. Tasted fab. Great value. Wife had cappuccino. Very nice. Quaint and quirky

I visited last week - my first ever visit after hearing about it from my best friend for years. Enjoyed the most amazing crumpets with lashings of Welsh butter.

Short visit to Criccieth, we wanted to go for a cup of tea and a scone. Lovely quaint tea room with a couple of outdoor tables, sat inside, a lovely welcome and service, decor was traditional, a slight musty smell but all part of the charm. Drinks served in a china cup and saucer, all in all a great find, we’ll be back.

This tearoom is lovely. Very old fashioned, which is just what we were looking for. Lovely pot of tea. I also had a date & walnut scone which was delicious. My husband had a cheese & onion sandwich which he said was great. My 2 teenage children had milkshakes, lemon drizzle cake & chocolate caramel slice which they also really enjoyed. Staff were friendly & service was quick. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Tried to get a late lunch here, but when I walked in 3 members of staff standing in the kitchen doing nothing just looked at me. No one greeted me or offered me a menu. We walked back out again.

We stopped here for breakfast twice, having been disappointed by the service at another establishment. The breakfast rolls are tasty, especially the sausages, and both the tea and coffee were good. Fair prices and very friendly service. Outdoor seating where you can eat your food whilst enjoying the beautiful views of Llanberis and its surroundings. Also does delicious cakes, milkshakes and hot chocolate. Highly recommended.

I'm actually gutted to be writing this review as we thought we had found a good haunt when we first tried last week. 2 adults & 2 children all had a lovely lunch time meal the previous week so we rebooked for the 2 adults for an evening meal the following weekend. The starter was lovely for both of us but we both ordered fillet steak for our main and I don't know what meat it was but it certainly wasn't a beef steak. It didn't look like one, taste like one or even cut like one. I was genuinely gutted as it has put me off going back again because I feel like it's just rude to expect somebody not to notice and left feeling like we've been totally ripped off. You don't order a fillet steak if you don't know exactly what to expect on your plate so the audacity to think you can pull that off is unbelievable. I can't complain about the service, both times it has been spot on, lovely women but unfortunately we won't be returning after been served that.

On a recent visit to Barmouth we found this little Gem of a place that is open on Sundays. There was a special board out side and it was the Cheese and Onion pie that drew us in . Both my husband and me had this and it came with new potatoes and salad . It was delicious and very reasonably priced . We were naughty and were too tempted by the delicious homemade sweets and puds they had to offer . I had the jam and coconut cake and my husband opted for the apple pie. They were presented lovely with fruit and a pot of cream on the side. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Barmouth
