This is the perfect place to sit for a coffee and a cake while waiting for family browsing the bookshops of Wigtown - or for a pit stop if you are on a bookshop marathon yourself. The staff are friendly and helpful. The chairs and sofas are comfy. The coffee is spot on and the cakes…Oh. My. Word! I had the apple and cinnamon and my husband had the lemon and ginger. Both were so light and utterly delicious - I was told the owner bakes them all herself, and my goodness she is good at it!

This overnight was a quick stop for us as we got in after dark and left early the next morning. Our accommodation was an apartment across the street from the restaurant. It was very comfortable. The people were very friendly at check in and when we had any questions. The apartment was a nice, large space, a little dated but comfortable. Parking was right next to the building in the square. The bathroom was well lighted and had plenty of storage area for our personal products. There was a washing machine in the unit, but no electric dryer. They did provide a drying rack and had space heaters. Overall, it was a great value and stay!

expected good food at fair prices, waited all most 1 hour after booking shocked fish & chips were very poor, so bad we complained bitterly and finally got full refund our other meals were Gammon so hard ~I just managed to eat half of it , the last was a Haggis Burger totally tasteless and very poor quality a total waste of money, we all left hungry

Went on a small adventure to Coylton Arms Inn. I have to say we will be back, the food is very good, a well seasoned lasagna with plenty of herbs, nice béchamel sauce and a good salad and french fries. The only small criticism was the lack of staff which made the wait slightly longer than necessary. The staff themselves were extremely welcoming and the ambiance was charming without being twee. Portion size was good without being excessive. All in all an enjoyable experience that I would recommend for a pub lunch.

The food at the smokin Fox was excellent. The fish and chips were top rate, as were the haggis balls. Good selection of scotch whiskey, and nice cold beer on tap that was served by an extremely pleasant Irish server. it’s a very pretty interior and made for a very relaxing lunch for me and my wife would highly recommend this close to the central train station in Glasgow.

Unprofessional and not clear with their rules, didn't let people in for being under 18, even tho the event organisers made it clear that it's for under 18 aswell. The guard / one in charge/ jennie was also SMOKING INSIDE THE BUILDING.
