Not sure if i caught them on a bad night but the food wasn't great at all, issues with every course. The souffle wasn't a souffle at all and was very dense and shaped like a hockey puck. The duck dish was extremely bland and nothing seasoned or dressed. The crumble dessert was burnt on top and freezing underneath. I feel it may have been grilled rather than ovened. It was my birthday meal and very underwhelming. Staff were all lovely though,
Had a lovely meal yesterday food was delicious. The restaurant was lovely decorated, but was a little cold. Service from waitresses were superb especially Gorgie and Abbie. Would recommend.
Just had a plate of the gnocchi. I was kind of expecting the usual plate of rib sticking mush but instead I was dished up a beautifully created plate of flavours. Very impressive. Each mouthful gave a surprising wee nugget of something different. Perfectly cooked, a myriad of texture and the perfect portion size served on sparklingly clean crockery and served up by an enthusiastic and happy lass with red hair. A crisp pint of cider was an unintentionally perfect pairing.
First class stuff. Thank you.
Popped in for some food today , not expecting more than average pub grub. Got that wrong, my burger was excellent and my partner thought her prawn tempura and loaded potato skins were outstanding. Staff were attentive and polite. Will definitely be back next time we are in Irvine.
We visited here for some lunch while on a short break to Ayr from our home in Leeds. Great choice of food, much larger choice of menu options than a standard fish and chips shop we are used to in England. The food was absolutely delicious yet somehow the prices are also ridiculously cheap. Will certainly go here again when back in the area.
This place is in a different league. Went for birthday lunch on a busy Saturday. Customer service was very good. Menu had plenty of choice and most importantly the food was excellent. We will definitely be back.
We went for dinner and drinks. Such a welcome atmosphere and warm and cosy. Very friendly helpful staff . The food was really good and to a high standard .

We were there for a wedding. We did 2 overnights , we stayed in Annex 2 as did other members of the wedding party with the majority in Annex 3 . All rooms are of a very good standard , clean, warm and a good size.
The Hotel itself is " old school " , carpet and wood panels , all in good repair.
The Wedding Service was carried out in the Dining / Ballroom it was decorated with taste.
The weather allowed the photos to be taken outside , with drinks and canapes served by staff. All in all...an excellent venue for a wedding.
The good is decent enough but I always leave feeling it’s never quite worth the money. Kids meals are 9 quid and don’t even include a drink. It could easily be (and often is for us) the most expensive meal you’ll have on the island, without ever really delivering anything to justify that tag.
Party of 14 for Christmas lunch - food and service was excellent. I had lunch in Browns in Glasgow last week which was not a patch on Souters - overpriced and disappointing food. Give me Souters anytime - well done to all staff.
Stayed one night for a local wedding, location perfect, room clean, shower good, bed was soft - rolled into each other, legs raised like a slope, but comfy, breakfast 10/10 - lot's on plate & quality products used.
