Absolutely brilliant place. Loads of fun. Excellent staff and delicious food. My favourite place to go in Ayr 😍

Great good and service! The chef was really accommodating with different allergies and requirements, check ingredients careful and even offering to make alternatives. The food was excellent, the buttermilk chicken was very juicy and delicious. We also had some beautiful cocktails, I'm sorry I didn't take photos!

honestly what a gem we have found went in for a quick lunch service was great felt really friendly and welcoming seemed more relaxed and laid back with quick service they have recently started opening on Mondays again also have a delicious home made sauce which is worth the try vegetarian sections is available also

Maybe it was an off day for this place. Preferred the old system, don't like leaving table to go for food. Soup was very thin and bread was tasteless flatbread not crusty bread. We managed 4 drinks in 4 and half hours as service was so slow, felt a bit letdown as have been before at lunchtime. We left a decent tip though

Just been today and can honestly say not 1 of us said we would return, we were in a group of 16 there for a birthday, i checked the menu online but the menu when we got there was nothing like i had read, ,New ordering system was running where when buzzer rang you went and collected your food, we waited a while as i think there was only 1 person cooking and 1 putting on trays, and also seemed to be trying to get them all at same time, instead of as and when ordered, some were cold and my bao buns were like a lump of heavy dough, gave impression of having been rehet , asian stir fry was about a Tsp/Tbls of bean sprout and maybe carrot, with a drop of tastless sauce. A few did say their burgers were tasty but the spicy ones were not at all spicy. To top it all, came in cardboard and with wooden throwaway cutlery, not at all what we expected .

This review relates to the Mobile Scullery service which we have had twice now which was 3 meals for 2 people each time for a very reasonable price. So that's 6 different meals we've had and all have been excellent...so tasty and decent portions. They keep in the fridge and you just microwave them for a few minutes and you're good to go. Also previously sampled the mobile van at Prestwick Cricket Club which was also top notch. Will be ordering again soon.

The food was excellent and the waiting staff Michael and Harry gave a first class service. The live music was brilliant too. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in Ayr.

We had my Birthday lunch here. The food was just amazing and very reasonably priced. Harry was very attentive and pleasant without being intrusive. I cannot praise the restaurant highly enough. Compliments to the manager/owner, Harry and the 2 chefs for an outstanding experience 👏. We will be back no doubt about it. 6/8/2023

Brilliant lunch today. Staff all so friendly and accommodating of our children and their random requests. Highly recommend. In particular the haggis and potato scone stack was immense.

Didn't live up to previous excellent ratings. Firstly, the menu online does not match the menu that was being served last night which is annoying when you have chosen the place because of that menu. Secondly, the food itself was just good in our opinion.

Food is absolutely amazing, staff can't do enough for you, nothing is any bother, lovely, friendly atmosphere ❤️ one of my favourite places to go now with my friend.

Visited today for lunch with my husband. Service was excellent and it is rare to find such a knowledgable young man who described the menu to a T We opted for the seafood tacos and it was indeed a first class food experience. This restaurant provided excellent food, beautifully presented and flavour in every mouthful. We highly recommend the Ghillie Dhu and we will definitely revisit.

Was greeted by a lovely lady on arrival on Sunday 2nd July who very quickly showed us to a prime table, this was about 5pm. She was great serving us lovely drinks and recommending chefs specials. We had an extremely tasty fish dish which included lobster and roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with all the trimmings, they were both absolutely delicious so can highly suggest visiting this bar/restaurant.

Unfortunately the service was poor,we were literally forgotten about and left not being offered dessert menu or asked if we would like another drink. This was also raised with management.

One of our meals was left uneaten as tasted and smelled a bit odd. No attempt to offer refund or replacement despite telling the staff member.

Music is way too loud. The level of bass and volume clearly shows no consideration for customers or the residents living local to this pub.

I love what The Ghillie Dhu Ayr have created! Thursday through Saturday they have a fab streetfood menu that changes regularly. You can eat in or take it away with you at a lower price plus they offer a lite version early daytimes. The star of the show is the Dunure Lobster - a great example of supporting local! Then on Sundays it is the dreamy Carvery - will be making this a regular winter stop. All in all a great team, service and just the best food around!

The waiter was lovely and the steak was excellent, small menu on offer from what I thought was going to be available from pictures i saw online, a tad disappointing but quality of food made up for it...

My husband and I came in for dinner tonight and just wow!!! Very rarely will I find a good blue steak...it truly was the best steak I have had..beats Miller and Carter...our meals were very beautifully presented and tasted incredible. The staff are so friendly and the restaurant is just beautiful inside. Highly recommend we will definitely be back xxxxxxx

We were there for a late lunch. Although there wasn't a great choice for the main course, we thoroughly enjoyed a meal from specials menu. We weren't sure if it would be too spicy for us, so the waitress gave us a sample of the sauce to try. Service was good as was the food. Wasn't too pricy either.

After seeing so many Facebook posts about the Sunday Carvery where the food looked delicious we were left so disappointed by our visit. Throughout our visit the restaurant was absolutely freezing which reflected on the food which was cold and that was with it being newly put out. I understand that a Carvery is mass production but the plates were stone cold when we got them and the food looked to me as if it was all like pre bought and just reheated. I wish we had just ordered from the menu (we weren’t offered a starter) as the food at the table opposite looked delicious

We had the Sunday lunch carvery and it was amazing! They gave so much meat and it was cooked to perfection. The roast potatoes were crispy and fluffy! We had cheese cake to finish that was one of the best cheesecakes I've had! Very creamy and a very large portion! For 4 of us with mains deserts and drinks was £60 so was a bargain also! The staff were lovely and very attentive, We will be back and recommending to others.

Excellent, friendly staff. Varied menu which differs from any other restaurant we have visited in the area. “Street Food” menu regularly updated to make for a different experience on each visit. Faultless meal on each occasion we have dined here. Definitely our favourite local restaurant and we will continue to be frequent visitors.

We visited here and were surprised to find it wasn’t busy on Friday lunchtime. The welcome and service from the staff on duty was top class…and the food which was beautifully presented, was absolutely delicious. Top marks from me…well worth a visit.

Michael provided our Wedding Dinner and Evening Reception buffet. All of their food was served well, right temperature and tasted amazing. Our guests enjoyed their meal and we received many positive comments. Communication and professional service were all spot on too. And the value great also. First visit back since lockdown. I chose the Prawn Tempura and Lobster Creel for lunch. Awesome! The food was superb and the service efficient, friendly and welcoming, dog friendly too! I will certainly be back!

Six of us went here last night for dinner. Very busy and a bit noisy but good atmosphere. Friendly service and a very good value and imaginative menu. Very Covid safe and aware. Specials are changed every week and are terrific. Highly recommended.
