We were recommended to try the Silver Spoon cafe by friends. We were not disappointed. Warm welcome, varied choices of cakes. Salted Caramel sponge was huge, so light and tasty. Rocky Road was also good. All reasonably priced.

Beautiful cafe decorated perfectly with an amazing variety of cakes. Staff were attentive and friendly. Only 4 star as it took over 30 mins to be served with our soup and sandwiches. On a trip to Troon, my friend and I had lunch, a sandwich and a salad, which were both lovely. We received a warm welcome and the service was friendly and efficient. We returned later in the afternoon for coffee and cake, as we had spotted the cakes when we were there at lunch. In all, a lovely day out boosted by two visits to the Silver Spoons.

Wonderful tea room with delicious made to order sandwiches and fresh baked scones and cakes (there was not a crumb left on our plates when we had finished eating!). The latte was one of the best I have ever tasted. The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming - and worked their socks off the entire time we were there. A really lovely place - they deserve every penny of what they charge. We will be back!

Absolutely top notch quality afternoon tea. We had the soup to start as well which resulted in us having take a doggy bag home as the portion sizes are large and fabulous! Visited with my 82 year old mum whilst on holiday. We received a warm welcome and attentive service from the whole team. I only planned to have a light lunch and was offered the option of either a small or normal bowl of soup. Homemade Potato soup was so tasty I ended up having two bowls! Mum enjoyed a half bowl of equally delicious Homemade Lentil and Bacon soup.

Visited here a few times and service and staff have always been excellent. This time? Staff were very patronising, service was appalling, asked for something to be omitted from salad, it wasn’t, asked for an addition, didn’t get it, soup was ordered but never arrived till we asked for it. Very poor. Also waitress obviously thought because of our age we wouldn’t know what to do if we needed to look at cakes or go to toilet, or use QR code scanner! Won’t be back

We were given an Afternoon Tea for two as a present. Because of the current lockdown the tearoom is closed so the Afternoon Tea was delivered to our house in Troon. One of the afternoon teas was traditional and the other savoury. They contained a great selection of sandwiches, savouries, scones, fruit bread and cakes. In addition tea bags, butter, jam and cream. A full selection of what you expect from an afternoon tea.Everything was fresh and delicious. Not sure if home delivery is only a temporary service due to lockdown or something they always offer in addition to dining in the tearoom. Would certainly recommend the experience.

This is a good idea, doing it the old fashioned way. Food is great, very tasty, varied menu, delicious. It is all marred by one small thing from the point of view of hygiene, no matter what time you go in to eat, someone always starts to brush the floor, dust flying upwards!!! I know of at least one person who will not visit again. I know everyone wants to finish promptly but surely the customers wellbeing comes first.

Other clients had ordered a meal close to our table and it looked good with decent portions. Went today with my wife and family, and grandchildren. We had the afternoon tea and it was delicious. There was a lovely selection of sandwiches in brown, and white bread, and different fillings, plus home made fruit and plain scones with jam and clotted cream, and also a good selection of home made cakes and tray bakes. It is like going back in time when you walk in, as the tables all have nice white table covers on plus all bone china tea cups, side plates and old fashion knives and cake forks and also tongs for the sugar cubes, which is very rare these days. The staff are all lovely dressed in black with nice white aprons on and are a credit to the management as the service we had was excellent. Myself and family would recommend this little gem of a place as it brought back lovely memories as it reminded us of going to our granparents for afternoon tea. Our two grandchildren absolutely loved it, specially the beautiful bone China tea pot with real tea leaves and tea strainer, as they are used to mugs and tea bags now, as we all are . Thanks to all the staff for a lovely afternoon and hopefully will be back soon.

What an absolute delight to find this lovely tearoom! I could write so much but there is no point, my words can’t paint the picture for you. If you are near, you just have to go and try for yourself. Notice the beautiful vintage china and appreciate the effort this takes because it can’t be put in the dishwasher. Enjoy tables set with table cloths and remember these have to be washed unlike other tables which just need wiping. Enjoy the soup and take time to see if you remember better. We had booked for the 'Splendid' afternoon tea, which included a small bowl of soup and miniature sausage rolls and a choice of sandwiches as well as an amazing variety of scones, shortbread and cakes, served on a bone china 3-tier cakestand. Choice of tea/coffee, and for a small corkage charge, customers can bring their own wine. Food was superb, welcome was warm, the tearoom cosy and staff were pleasant and attentive. We came here for lunch because it’s number 1 in Troon and we quickly understood why. The tables are all laid with tablecloths and old fashioned China. We were warmly welcomed and given a choice of tables. My partner had a baked potato with prawns which admittedly is standard fare but I had an open sandwich with goats cheese, honeyed walnuts and apple which was delicious and enjoyably different. We shared an apple and cinnamon crumble which was easily one of the best we’ve ever tasted. It was made on the premises as is all the baking. This tearoom deserves its status no matter what other reviewers say. We’ve eaten in several Troon tearooms and this is the best by a country mile. We’ll be back!

Love the old fashioned tea room styling with china cups and saucers. The home baking is delicious. The Earl Gray tea was a little disappointing. I like East India Tea Company Earl Gray with its distinctive citrus and bergamot flavours but these were hardly recognisable, tasting more like breakfast tea.

Staff were very pleasant and no pressure imposed on us for our order or in vacating table as 4 women together can chat for some time over tea/coffee and cakes! Loved the china tea service and a very relaxed atmosphere, Would recommend this tearoom as an ideal place to catch up with friends/family

This tea room is an absolute joy!!! We were all transported back to when we visited our grand parents for tea. The China tea service layer out on the pristine white table cover. The selection of cakes making your mouth water. The music playing softly in the back ground allowing to to have a conversation without being intrusive. It was heaven. The staff were dressed smartly in black with a white pinny apron. They were very professional and very pleasant. We had soup and sandwiches and with the extra pot of tea we had some delicious cake. Everyone a winner. I absolutely love this place. If in Troon and you long for those days back at granny's visit Silver Spoons Tearoon. YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED! !!!!!!!

Went here for breakfast, before getting the train. After checking out previous reviews, we were pleasantly surprised. Good food, freshly cooked to order. Staff are also willing to swap if you don't like certain items. Only thing I didn't like was, the toast comes buttered. Friendly staff & decent price. Will definitely visit again.

This is a real hidden gem. Set off the beaten track it takes a bit more effort that some of the more bouge cafes in Troon, but if you're looking for honest food and a fair price in a cafe you can get a seat in....its well worth the extra 3 min walk.

Went here with some friends after working up an appetite swimming. Food was absolutely stellar and all staff gave an excellent service with a smile. Great range of food and very accommodating to dietary needs, it can be a struggle to find somewhere with as many options for dairy/gluten free diets. 10/10 will definitely be back regularly.

Not a tea room. Just a basic cafe. Coffee was awful. Tea served in a mug. Cakes under glass domes looked like they'd been there for a week. Shabby decor. Service mediocre
