Just had a plate of the gnocchi. I was kind of expecting the usual plate of rib sticking mush but instead I was dished up a beautifully created plate of flavours. Very impressive. Each mouthful gave a surprising wee nugget of something different. Perfectly cooked, a myriad of texture and the perfect portion size served on sparklingly clean crockery and served up by an enthusiastic and happy lass with red hair. A crisp pint of cider was an unintentionally perfect pairing.
First class stuff. Thank you.
First time in over a year, been many times in past. This time, disappointing. Prices higher than similar type establishments and portion sizes not what they used to be despite this. Fat on the bacon topping my burger was almost raw. Salad bland, used to come with a lovely dressing. Small basket of fries. £19 for an underwhelming burger.
A family member had a chicken dish, again £19. One chicken breast, a tiny portion of rice, some sauce and a chopped carrot that didn't belong on the plate.
A bowl of maccaroni £17 and much smaller than in the past.
Two desserts, £8.50 each for the tiniest piece of fudge cake and only marginally larger cheese cake which was more of a firm mouse.
Finally £4.50 for a pint of lemonade.
Eating out isn't cheap anywhere decent now but if im going to be charged such as this, I expect good food and not to feel as though I'm still hungry.
Average only. Expected more. Fish n chips were over cooked. Portions small. Veggie burger was probably the best option but considering the hype about the place? Give it a miss

Beautiful hotel with lovely spacious rooms. I stayed for a wedding for 2nts in the main hotel. Staff couldn't be anymore helpful. Food amazing!! Lovely venue for a wedding or just an overnight stay.
Everything seemed very good and correct, until to our surprise they did not make our room for us for the two nights we stayed at the hotel. They didn't even come in to change the towels that we left in the shower so that they could be replaced with clean ones. We didn't even have toilet paper... we notified through their booking messaging system, since there is no one at reception, and they told us not to worry that they were going to get to work to solve it as soon as possible and a lot of talk. The fact is that no one came, no one changed our towels, or gave us more paper for the bathroom... and the next day we were leaving. Even so, they will not write to us again, at least to give us an explanation or an apology. The service was very bad in that sense, it spoiled our stay and left a bitter taste in our mouths, honestly. A shame...
Food was pretty good and reasonable. We have been previously, it was nice to see that the premises had been given a lick of paint . Would definitely return.
Great coffee and food if you can get served. Half the tables were empty and there was a problem with the till or something, we asked to just sit down - she said no. Went to takeaway and waited 20 minutes with two people in front of us. Great place but the organisation of the staff needs attention- a guy said it’s always like this. 45 minutes later the table we offered to sit at, 6 of us, still empty. Just a heads up about organising the staff better.
