First visit - recommend by family.
Choices on menu for every dietary need.
Great explaination of every option on the menu - but would suggest a rating for the spice level of each dish.
Portion size was large.
Had a tandoori mixed grill with madras sauce and friend had Chicken biryani with a korma sauce! Absolutely delicious and staff remembered what l had previously .Service excellent, and free spiced onions and poppadoms lovely ! Great meal as usual that's why l travel from Ayr! 5*
I'm a regular at the smokery next door and have been wanting to try the restaurant for some time. A limited menu, but the food was absolutely fine, only suggestion there would be that if you're serving an entire fish it's always helpful to have a second plate to deposit the bones. Service was the real let-down though. Door was opened by a young man who knew the right words to welcome people but did so in a very detached sort of way - efficient enough but small talk, or even normal pleasantries, definitely not encouraged. His female colleague was a bit more personable, but easily distracted by a succession of males who seemed to be working outside and kept coming and going through an external kitchen door to have a bit of a flirt with her. Almost certainly not in line with kitchen hygiene to be entering in dirty work clothes, and I don't really want to pay to have a meal while listening to them chatting each other up.
Not a bad place to get a quick bite to eat, as per another review on here the ordering system is a bit of a pain, when you walk in also there is no clear menu with everything displayed, which means having to grab a menu off the table, the food is good for what you pay for, great desserts I must say and the coffee is brilliant, cash only is a bit of a pain, but I understand with the taxes and fees from banks these small businessess must face, so overall I will be back
Thanks
First booked the Sorn Inn for an anniversary meal for 17 people and everyone (including children) loved the food.
Have been twice more and will be back for the new set menu on Wednesday.
Fantastic food and our host David was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Chef's menus are fine dining but at reasonable prices.
Certainly our new place to eat out.
Thanks David.
Stayed here with my wife while attending a wedding at nearby Cornhill Castle. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good quality. Street parking was fine when we visited but I imagine it could be difficult when the town is busy with time restrictions in some areas. Staff helpfully provided taxi numbers to Cornhill. I thought it was slightly pricey although we did have a family suite. Good enough for a return visit though.
Lovely place. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Soup was full of flavour.
They had some amazing looking cakes which we did not have room to try but will definitely come back.
