Nice meal with good portions. Large range of different curry dishes.

Chicken chart for start then chicken chasni, not your usual red dyed food, they claim no artificial colour or flavour, food was ace, alive with chit chat.

Loved this restaurant. The food and service were outstanding. Very nice to have a separate vegan menu with lots of options 😊 will definitely be back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taal restaurant and I must say, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed throughout our meal. Their knowledge of the menu was impressive, and they were happy to make recommendations based on our preferences. We started with the mixed pakoda, which was a fantastic introduction to the meal. It was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. For the main course, I opted for Punjabi Chicken, which was cooked to perfection and seasoned impeccably. The portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming. Overall, Taal restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. Once on takeaway raw chicken chaat Today chicken pakora and butter chicken both raw chicken, someone’s not using a thermometer, there were red lines running through the chicken pink inside …. Jelly looking, they didn’t charge for the butter chicken, I asked for tarts dhal as a replacement, felt sick by this point, home hungry!

Superb Food all round... doesn't matter what you order it’s fantastic ! You don’t get anything other than great service and quality. The owner even took the time to introduce himself and asked about our dining experience, which was a nice added touch..reasonably priced with a great atmosphere..so.. Treat yourself! We wish you all well with your new venture at the Waterside Strathaven .

We visited Sunday night with friends who hadn’t been before. The food and service was excellent.Everyone enjoyed a really nice evening. Unfortunately I left without my bag which included my iPhone and money. No need to worry. When I returned next day was given a warm welcome and the bag was returned to me intact. I am very happy with this business. Thankyou very much.

1st time visiting Taal and I wasn't disappointed, the restaurant is lovely and the service amazing, everyone was super helpful and friendly. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious, I couldn't eat all mine so I've got the leftovers home to scoff tomorrow. Fantastic value for money too. Perfect place for a date night or dinner with friends, there is even a wee bar area where you could sit and have a cocktail. Can't wait to go back!!

Lovely meal. Fantastic service. The risotto, pate, chicken and arrabiata were all excellent. Friendly staff that let you get on with the serious business of eating. Very well priced. (at the time of posting it was an Italian restaurant)

Staff were very attentive without being in your face all the time. Food was delicious and didn't have to wait. You were not rushed at all. Lamb tikka and lamb jalfrase delicious.

Ate here last night as was getting late, after 8.30pm, nothing was too much trouble, food was delicious, service was friendly and efficient. Would recommend without hesitation.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Worst experience we have had. Food, service and atmosphere was terrible! Lots of thought into the decor but everything else is a total flop! This place is a disgrace, flags outside are Irish, Welsh and Scottish! Should be ashamed of themselves. Spend your money elsewhere to avoid disappointment.

From booking by telephone to arriving very welcoming. Staff were so attentive and service prompt, food second to none 👌 and I’m very hard to please. So I’d highly recommend 💯

We've been a few times now and every time the food has been great, the staff have been helpful and we've had a great time. They are fab with allergey sufferers, which is a major bonus. A welcome addition for food in Carluke/Braidwood.

Been wanting to try a curry from this place since it opened,finally got round to ordering a takeaway,have to say not disappointed,shame i waited so long,absolutely fantastic meal,some of the best pakora and sauce i have ever had,nice fall apart lamb and a tasty chicken curry dish,will definitely be back and worth taking a trip as it is well better than anything Lanark has to offer. Still knocking out the decent Ruby Murray's, still worth the trip out of the Burgh, will be back for more.

Food was delicious and of a high standard. The conservatory would benefit from soft furnishings to deaden noise. Service was overly enthusiastic! We had just sat down and we’re asked if we were ready to order! This was quickly followed by different servers asking if we were ready to order! Not ideal! Might be better to have a system that assigned servers to specific tables and avoid bombarding customers.

Service very good. Food very good. Very tasty and not over spiced. I will definitely be back and would recommend this restaurant.

Ordered food from here over Easter. We expected good quality curry from other reviews but were very disappointed. We ordered three quite different curries - one that should be mild and creamy, one medium with tomato base and one spicy with onions/tomatoes. What came was three almost identical curries that all had cream and all seemed also to have ground almonds. Spice difference was negligible and all very mild. The black pudding pakora sounded like an interesting crossover but was just lumps of badly deep fried black pudding and we didn't finish it. Overall one of the more bland and uninteresting curries we have had, and we eat curry a fair bit. We would not recommend expect that the prices were good and service swift and easy.

Great atmosphere! We were there Friday evening. It was busy but not too busy. And the food was served in a timely manner. This brings me nicely on to our favourite dishes! The naan was the best I have ever had! We went pashwari and it didn't disappoint! We had the tasting menu; starter of poppadoms with some dips. The dips were different to your normal Indian... It was far nicer and full of flavour! We then had mixed pakora, various veg and chicken. The mushrooms were great! Would recommend. Won't break the bank and tastes really good! A great quantity of food too.

The worst experience we ever had in dine out. My humble request to those who want to try indian food, Please chose other small indian take away shops near around. You will not lose money and will definitely meet the expectations.

Great experience. Food was actually better then what I expected from the outlook. Was spicy enough for South Asians to enjoy and portions were good aswell. Reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because I have had better Indian food in other restaurants plus in service there was a small inconvenience as we waited for almost 30 minutes after finishing the food to wait for someone to come and clean table and take the bill. Had to look for a staff member and ask.

Very friendly staff, nice touch with a free taster, chicken Tikka starter was simply delicious, one of the best I've ever tasted! Overall, definitely worth visiting, but book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

The former La Piazza, Italian now Taal. Indian. I enjoyed my food here, although my chicken pakora starter was disappointing.. However, it is popular and hence it felt very busy, overcrowded and noisy.

My son and his girlfriend went up not long after Xmas, and they were telling me all about they loved it , so I went up the following night , I'm not a spicy food person because of my IBS , they lay out of the menu is very easy to read and have a special lunch menu on till 6.30pm a starter and a main meal , so I had potato skins with garlic dip salad , rice , garlic nan and my husband got a starter and a main 2 drinks just cans of iron bru, and let me tell you the food was really tasty loved it , and offered to put some of the stuff left in to a box for us one of the best eating out in a long time so 10/10 for me ,then we went bk last wk my 2 bills were £27, £23 great price and the staff were very helpful , and the lady behind the bar was very friendly and open to conversation

Ordered delivery for 7:30 and it has been delivered 40 minutes too early. Food is always very nice but disappointed with delivery time as it will be cold and I will need to reheat it for our dinner.

Best Indian in the area Decided to give the Taal a go for my wife’s Birthday. She is a curry obsessive so needed to be good. Pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere. Lovely table service. No pressure and the curries were superb. Nice to go to a place that is living up to its name. Highly recommended!!

First time at restaurant,very good experience.

Christmas Day 2022 meal at 4pm sitting . Meal was a let down. Group of 5 of us, had per ordered and 2 of us had the turkey main .roast potatoes were frozen potatoes, as were the stuffing balls, and they were hard.I had to ask for gravy and when this came over to the table it was very very runny... Ive ate out the past 3 years on Xmas day and the first time where its put me off. I didnt fancy eating my dessert and when I asked to have this to take away I was informed that this also was a frozen dish..I think for £50 per head, there would be a little more effort taken to not be using all frozen ingredients.The staff were nice and friendly but really its a lot of money people are spending and when you add that to the drinks billet really needs to improve.Wouldnt recommend

Best Indian style food I have ever had. Very long wait after starter, an hour, did apologise, and free drink. Too many people in entrance bar area waiting for their take outs, too congested. Will go back but weekday perhaps.

First time forgot our rice, this time asked for a lamb dish and ended up with chicken….with what was written on the 2 boxes no idea if we even got got we ordered. Maybe it’s better to sit in rather get a take away

Ordered takeaway last night and another night in August . Starters of mixed pakora where dry and not anything wonderful . We ordered the set menu and paid extra for garlic Nan . Both nights we only got plain . The main course was okay .

We have just finished our takeaway from Taal Braidwood and all I can say is it was absolutely delicious! We ordered the mix Tandoori Cuisine which was more than enough for myself and my partner (and our dog tried the lamb)! The meat was succulent and the curry sauce was full of flavour!! Restaurant quality at home, can't get much better than that! Beautiful!!

Ordered takeaway for the first time and probably will be the last. Ordered for the meal to be delivered at 7.30 as me and my partner were working till then. It was delivered at 7.10. Normally we would be thankful for the quickness but if we order for a certain time then that’s when we would prefer it. The food it self wasn’t memorable. Korma and Jalfrezi were bland at the Jalfrezi was swimming in excess water on the plate. Almost Jalfrezi soup! The Chicken Pakora was small and far too crispy. Not melt in your mouth, more crunchy in your mouth and the pieces were small like it was Chick Pakora, not Chicken Pakora and lastly the chips were over cooked. Wasn’t the best and sticking to Raja on the High Street as much better quality. Shame!

What an amazing new resteraunt! The food was brilliant. Fresh, authentic, real Indian food. The waiting staff were impeccable, really polite and very attentive. I waited around 10 seconds after finishing my drink to be asked if I would like another. Great experience and I will for sure be going back.

Lots of staff but forgotten about! Got told our order never got passed over! Wondered after waiting 35 mins after our starters had been and gone! Understand it was busy Table who sat down after us got their mains before us! They got asked too if they wanted more drinks (bigger table bigger profit!) I had to find someone to ask for more drinks! Once I mentioned about food the food got put on our table very aggressively. Not impressed with service. Food was good though when asked about a dish got told it would be Spicy the korma had more kick! Got an apology with no eye contact! Not very impressed for first visit,

Fantastic meal and great atmosphere

Visited La Piazza today and was very disappointed, we were a family group of 11 & had pre booked the table for 9 plus 2 highchairs, when we arrived we were shown to our table by an elderly lady, we then discovered they’d misunderstood the booking & had a table for 7 plus 2 highchairs allotted, except they only had one highchair available. I was made to feel this was my fault & I should have been clearer when booking. They did grudgingly extend the table to fit us all & my granddaughter aged 2 sat on a car booster seat to reach the table leaving the highchair for her 14month old cousin. My 6yr old grandson has autism & struggles to sit still for any length of time, I explained this to the elderly lady who appeared to be in charge and asked if I could take him onto the covered outdoor terrace so he could let off steam whilst we waited for everyone to arrive without disturbing other diners, again very grudgingly she allowed us outside stating it wasn’t safe in case they fell over…?? In due course our food arrived, starters were excellent as was the childrens spaghetti bolognese, however, when our main courses arrived we were somewhat disappointed at the size of the portions, 2 adults ordered lasagne which was bland, dry & smaller than the kids meals. My daughter ordered chicken & mushroom risotto and had to send it back as it had a strong citrus flavour & an over-riding taste of butter, I suspect the butter used was rancid. The lady in charge came over to ask what was wrong with it, stated that only 1/2 a spoon of butter had been used as per the recipe and offered her another, my daughter declined this & the lady left with no other comment. We felt very uncomfortable the whole time we were there and the elderly lady in charge made it quite obvious we weren’t welcome. Needless to say we didn’t have dessert or coffee and we certainly won’t be back! Such a shame!

Ist time in La Piazza today, my wife and I went for lunch and it was really nice and fresh. We have driven past this place regularly and always promised to book, today was the day. U hade the minestrone soup to start, I then had the penne chilli chicken, the soup was good, the Penne chilli chicken was superb. My wife had the brushetta and penne chilli chicken, she really enjoyed both. The staff were friendly, the place was cosy and extremely clean. I have promised to take my wife back one evening for dinner.
