Young female wearing glasses was as bitter as the over-priced coffee she banged down on the table, spilling some of the valuable brew into the saucer. A wee lesson in customer service wouldn't go amiss.

Well worth the wrong turns and walk from the ferry terminal. We wanted good coffee and that’s what we got. Coffee excellent. The scone was apparently one of the best ever and my vegan-friendly soup was piping hot and delicious. A quiet calm setting with friendly staff.

Visited last week when on holiday on Arran, we always call for a coffee. Sadly this year we missed out on their gorgeous scones as it was not long after breakfast that we called by! The fresh scones are super! Lovely coffee and service with a smile. Great location just near lovely shops / Arran Aromatics etc so really handy to stop here.

Regularly use and recommend Jaynie’s in Brodick. The jolly service and delicious freshly made food , cakes and baking never fail to disappoint. Yesterday we had Chicken Rice soup which hit the spot perfectly and felt comforting after a stressful week. The Peanut Butter Slice was equally healing despite the calories! Love this place. Yum, yum

The food itself was amazing! We absolutely loved it! But… there was one person behind the counter that ruined our whole experience. She was very snappy and seemed very angry. She was young (looked about 19) and has clearly not been in customer service long and shouldn’t be working in hospitality.

We highly recommend Jamie’s. Staff are lovely and friendly and we’re pretty matching blouses! Their scones are fantastic. Great size and served warm which is how a scone should be served. Jam and butter with or without clotted cream They have a really good selection of home made cakes which are delicious My husband really likes their cappuccinos. The tea is served in a pot with lovely fine porcelain cup & saucer Lots of well spaced seating in the foyer area and tables inside as well Definitely worth a visit. The cakes and the service are the main reason we go to Janie's every time we leave the ferry. The quality of the food is amazing!!!! The staff are friendly and so lovely every time, and this place makes possibly the best coleslaw in the universe! Great variety of food choices too and they are able to work with allergies etc., Cannot wait to go back soon. Thank you for exceptional customer service some big named companies on the mainland could learn a thing or two.

Janies is located in Brodick and is a lovely spot to stop at for a coffee and some home baking. We have visited several times and the soup as well as the cakes and tray bakes are absolutely delicious and super fresh! However, having said this, there have been numerous occasions when we have arrived and it has been closed (even in the summer). We have family on the island and visit frequently, always recommending places to friends, although on our last visit, the cafe closed early - despite us contacting them to check their opening hours and if we could pop by. Perhaps during the low season is it not worth being open the full day for a few cakes and coffees however it was disappointing especially since we had contacted them prior to arriving. Would love to visit again and hope to get lucky at a time they are open

A prime spot on the road out of town offered a lot of potential but was a bit underwhelming. The staff were nice and friendly, oat milk was on offer (sadly unusual), and the coffee was ok.The Almond cake was a tad dry, and there was a general sense that the place needed a good clean (surprising given the current focus on cleanliness given COVID). The fake flowers on the window ledge had enough cobwebs to fill the ‘fly cemetery’ cake on offer. Having said that there were enough dead flies on the window ledge as it was. It wouldn’t take much to raise the overall experience a lot.

Table booked on 24/12/2019 for 9 people to have lunch on 5th Jan 2019. We were told when ordering our drinks that they had only one can of diet coke!! Bad start. One hour after our arrival no food had been brought to the table. Eventually starters were served. Food average. When we asked for salad cream for a salad it was to be told that they didn't have any! I ordered fish and chips and was told they didn't have any fish ' only scampi. Attitude to customers was take it or leave it! I felt they had let us down and Dalry down. We will not go back there again.

For a start, I don’t understand why a commercial building built in the late 90’s doesn’t have a lift given my guess of the average age of their clientele. We went for tea and a scone with my mum who is recovering from getting a new knee. We were told that we could have a table in the foyer cos the restaurant wasn’t accessible. They then changed their mind and told us that we couldn’t order a tea and a scone because there was already 6 people in their restaurant and it would be at least 30 minutes before they could put in a new order. There were 4 people in the empty shop, two in the foyer and presumably numerous staff in the cafe. Between them they couldn’t get us a tea and a scone. We won’t be back.
