Met friends for lunch , first time they had eaten in Newton bar . They were very impressed with the food and will visit again.u ch was delicious.

Brilliant staff always polite and friendly. The food is great, and Robert and Lesley are always so welcoming.

Wow! I didn’t expect to find such amazing tapas food in Millport. Beautifully presented tapas dishes with authentic flavourings and a wonderful selection of vegetarian, meat and fish dishes The crispy onions and fillet steak were amazing and the prawns were huge, juicy and so delicious. At the end of the meal I fancied an Affogato after describing to Lesley she went off and brought the ice cream, espresso and liquor Five star review from me and I will be back next time I’m on Cumbrae

Superb staff. Games for our kid behind the bar. So kind. Even made too many chips and brought us some for free! We stayed a bit longer and enjoyed the large array of locally brewed Gin from the island. Staff is so kind and nice, genuine. A clean place, kid and dog friendly. 🐕 Thank you. See you again soon. We visit Millport regular, the Newton Bar is always on our list to visit. Very friendly staff, always chat away to you making you feel very welcome. My wife and I both ate lunch which again was excellent. Looking forward to our next visit, keep up the good work.

Looking forward to our meal burgers were tasty and moist. The only problem was the air fryer chips some on the plate could have been utilised as armour piercing rounds.

Tuna steak outstanding. Cooked to perfection. Husband had fillet steak with haggis and drambuie sauce which was superb. Excellent service and staff very friendly.

Lovely little pub food was very tasty we were staying up the road and had a take out. Very friendly bar.

Family lunch with the doggo! 3 adults and 2 teens, everyone was fed and happy. We got Burgers, Chicken Pizza, Haddock and Chicken goujons all served with chips and side salad (except pizza). It was quiet when we went in, got seated and served immediately. Menu had a good selection including vegetarian options and a kids menu. Large portions, i'm truly stuffed, good value for money, each adult meal about £10 kids meal £6-ish. I would definitely go back and definitely recommend anyone looking for a lunch in Millport to pop in there. It's dog friendly and our bassett hound Lola got a wee nap in while we were all stuffing our faces.

Went there for drinks in the evening with family. Very Welcoming and enjoyed the evening.

Went here for pub lunch I myself got a quesidilla it wasn't fantastic spices etc inside it were great, there was no cheeses however I've always had quesidillas with cheese, the chicken that was used was dry as, it was precooked chicken strips the kind you get in a pack in the fridges at the supermarket that had just been heated up, which is why it was so dry was disappointed for the price of £10.50 for the ingredients used or lack of. The waitress when we asked for our bill shouted from the bar how much the bill came to this was unprofessional and rude.

Just popped in for a drink. Quiet local bar, staff helpful and attentive. They have curry night on a Wednesday which seems very popular.

I had chicken burger and chips. It wasn't very nice food, tasted like a very poor frozen reformed chicken patty. Chips were OK and side salad was nice. Some of my friends had other dishes, apparently the burger pattys weren't very nice either but the chicken with chilli dip was lovely. Not cheap food but where is these days. Service was good so no complaints there and the atmosphere was on the quiet side when we came in. We livened the place up playing our ukuleles though

Went for lunch today. Very accommodating. We had a wheelchair and 2 large dogs. They recommended we ate at the restaurant at the back of the pub. Couldn't do enough for us. Excellent service. Food gorgeous. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Visited here with my classmates and professors while we were on a field trip. Looks very small from the outside but is actually huge on the inside, loved the ambience! Had a lot of fun playing the pub quiz and they'd also arranged a karaoke night for us!

One of the best steak pies we've had on this trip. Fish was fresh and delicious too. We went on a Sunday and they do not take bookings (good for us), so perfect for a spontaneous bite to eat or a pint in the pub.

Spent a lovely afternoon at Brian and Tracy’s table today while they enjoyed a change of scene at Simon’s table. Food, drinks, staff and company were fab as always, loved the view of the Wee Cumbrae and the unrestricted view of Now 80’s on the telly. We will be back! (If we beat Brian and Tracy to it 🤗)

Went into the Newton today first visit wish I had used the Newton before the steak pie was absolutely amazing and the service was wonderful and its dog friendly Sam was so welcoming she brought water and biscuits for poppy who was delighted with it thanks Sam you made yourself a doggie friend will definitely be back keep up the good work

This little gem is in fact a Tardis , at first you have the impression of entering a cosy dog friendly pub with really cool chatty staff … We were given th nod that Friday night was theme night,and on this occasion Was Steak or fish themed . We pre booked on the Thursday (recommended) . My expectations were unusually cynical . But we entered the bar area had a drink or two then enters the Tardis , A wonderful large tastefully and buzzing restaurant that provided amazing and attentive service . The food was fantastic , the restaurant itself was a complete revelation and we would thoroughly recommend a visit . Thanking you and your staff for an amazing visit . P:S. My wife said it was the greatest cheesecake that she has ever eaten and that comes from a connoisseur. 👍

Great little pub. Cosy lovely decor. Pet friendly which is a big bonus. I had the haddock and my hubby had the scampie it was delishious. It is a local cosy friendly pub and I would highly recommend. You pay a visit.

We visited here for an early evening meal with my wife and young family. The back lounge is really tired looking and floor and tables were sticky and dirty. We ordered 3 meals and soft drinks, the meals were ok and only just edible but...

Had dinner and drinks here on a quiet Monday night in Millport. We arrived on the island after 6pm and the local supermarket was closed. We wandered along the seafront to discover Newton's Bar! Very friendly girl behind the bar who quickly served us drinks...

Ok bar but the toilet really needs a deep clean, very grotty,cob webs at the back of the cistern and a grubby sink.

Traditional pub. Food was good and friendly service. The tempura battered vegetables were delicious.

Visited this bar for food and drink through the day (9th April) and returned for the live music in the evening. What had been a reasonably enjoyable day was spoiled by the locals (late teens and early twenties) adding their own chorus to Sweet Caroline...

This is a good place but feel they were a bit unfriendly towards us, maybe as we came from Glasgow. Got the feeling they didn't really want our service as not very welcoming to visitors.

We've just spent the weekend in Millport and 2 nights in this bar, the bar staff were excellent both nights. The second night one even danced with us and his mum!! ☺ The 2 nights entertainment was great, we sang and danced all night long. Superb. Please go along if in Millport you'll love it.

Came here twice in the week we stayed here, our dog Suzi loves the bartender with him giving her treats, would recommend to anybody wanting a drink or food. We will be visiting again and staying on the island the halloumi are amazing.

Ate here 2 nights. I had the Tony Burger and it was spot on. My colleague had Steak pie that wasn't too impressive. The pizza was too doughy. The fish and chips were really good. Staff great. Nice sea view from where I was sitting.

Visited this place in the past and it used to be brilliant. On our trip this year I was very disappointed. Food was edible because we were hungry but was not even a standard pub meal. Steak pie was definitely a tin of princess tinned...

Awful place. Kitchen service dreadful. Ordered a sandwich waited over 40 mins yet meals coming out for people just arriving! Pathetic NOT recommend.

Nice place with attentive and friendly service form the bar and for food. The vegetable pakora was excellent , as was the steak pie. The breaded scampi was very good as well. All in all , very good and we will be back.

I wasn't in the bar, me and my sister pulled up beside it in a quadicycle because we were exhausted after cycling it for two minutes after nearly two years in lock down 😂 😂 😂, i didn't even know it was a pub until my daughter turned back on her bike to look for us and ask why we stopped at the pub 😂

Food was good (the carbonara was one of the best I've ever had) large portions and very friendly and attentive staff.
