First time in there for many a year. Liked the cosy atmosphere and the fire gave it a cosy feel on a cold January day. The decor is old fashioned but suits the place but flooring, tables and seating badly in need of either cleaning or replacement.

Been in a few times. Whatever they use to clean the tables makes them sticky. The toilets are really disgusting, I'm surprised to be honest as it's a busy place.

Brilliant and popular local pub right on the seafront. Nice ambience and full of character with an open fire. Live music too. Very pleasant owner and staff.

Best pub in Largs with a real fire and you know it’s good if there are locals in it. Lovely pictures of the old ferry’s etc and the heat from the fire is amazing. Well painted outside and welcoming, only thing that’s not so great is the toilets. Great pub

We didn't eat in Ye Olde Anchor, but sat for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. The Inn is homely and welcoming and there was a coal fire burning adding to the atmosphere.

Doesn't do food anymore but the crisps are excellent! Best pub in the town without a doubt.

It's been years since we visited the Anchor and it hasn't changed , still got that old charm and good clientele.

Pub doesn't do food. My goodness what a great atmosphere, there was a band playing good light jazz. Very friendly staff, who work hard.

Always go for a drink when we come up the Largs, great place to catch friends.

Refused service for absolutely no reason

Friendly happy pub. An accordion player was performing one night we were there and the atmosphere was one of happiness. Enjoyed the pale ale with friendly people.

Amazing wee pub with great misic and a nice selection of beer on draught. You can get a local takeaway delivered as they don't have a kitchen. Very cosy and welcoming, would recommend.

very bad place when we sat down on the summer terrace we were asked to leave because we were with a child but the problem was that we already paid for the order we had to leave the place leaving our order. It is very strange since we could have been warned in advance

DO NOT GO NEVER! They didn't warn us until we got our beers. Then, the waiter told us forbidden to sit with the infant. We lost our money for nothing 😪

Right on Largs seafront. An old world traditional pub with a wonderful welcoming open fire to warm yourselves by. The staff are very friendly and welcoming too. Unfortunately no food available when we went.

Great little pub, good ambiance, staff good. Always come here to relax with some of the guys after our walk.

Classic old time bar. It's small and cozy, sometimes standing room only, so get there early during busier times. Go for the atmosphere, not the amenities.

Walked into the busy and lively bar for the firstvand last time. Was rudely spoken to by the bar staff and refused service for being "too drunk" despite having only had three drinks in the Waterside. As an experienced door supervisor/bouncer I politely explained that the treatment I received was unfair and promptly left. Very poor service and extremely bad attitude

Hard to find these days........ A good old fashioned pub... Run by an owner raised in the game and who takes pride in serving a great pint. You are guaranteed a warm welcome here.

Good atmospheric old pub, friendly staff

I love it. It may be old but there is a good atmosphere and the staff are so friendly. They have added an outside area in the Gallowgate Square which is ideal on a hot, summer day, watching the world go by. They also have live music on in the bar most weekends. The only problem is you can't always get a seat as its so popular!!
