Fiddlers Music Bar & Bistro in North Ayrshire

Just had a plate of the gnocchi. I was kind of expecting the usual plate of rib sticking mush but instead I was dished up a beautifully created plate of flavours. Very impressive. Each mouthful gave a surprising wee nugget of something different. Perfectly cooked, a myriad of texture and the perfect portion size served on sparklingly clean crockery and served up by an enthusiastic and happy lass with red hair. A crisp pint of cider was an unintentionally perfect pairing. First class stuff. Thank you.

Last night on Arran, looking for dinner before the ferry. Defo recommend. Great service. Venison burger & soups were divine and the puddings too :)

We recommend getting the daily seafood as it was fresh and yummy, the sandwiches were less great but still good.

Two couples, on a driech October afternoon, we were made to feel at home. The drop in musicians were fun but our waitress had the star voice. Both of our waitresses were perfectly delightful and efficient. The food was excellent and we will be back every time we visit Arran.

Venison burger with haggis was tremendous along with their homemade onion ketchup. Great local beers and gin too. Would highly recommend

Stunning food and a great choice of specials to choose from as well as the regular menu. It doesn’t look like much of a place at first glance, but don’t let that fool you. Great choice of drinks including superb cocktails, served by friendly staff.

There are very few places now where you eat out and think that with good ingredients you couldn’t have had as nice a meal at home. But Crofters food is special. We went back for a second night. Delicious, inventive menu served by fun, welcoming staff. Great atmosphere with live music some nights. Thanks everyone. X

My daughters and I had a delicious meal on Saturday. We were given a table in the window which looks out to sea. A good range of meals on the menu including daily specials. And thank you for suggesting your homemade gin cocktails-Delicious!

Booked for one night - enjoyed the food so much we returned the following day! Definitely recommend reserving a table, as the restaurant is compact and always full. Food was filling and top quality, perfect after a day of exploring the island. Best place we ate whilst on the island.

We ate in this restaurant last week while on holiday in Arran. The food was excellent across all three courses and the staff were friendly and attentive. Their craft lager is highly recommended. We ate midweek evening and the place was packed so you would need to book up in advance. This was definitely our favourite meal during our trip around the Western Isles, the only disappointment was that we couldn't book it on a music night due to our schedule.

We visited Crofters twice during our stay on Arran. We purposely booked for the evenings that we knew there was live music on. Both acts were brilliant albeit very different. Food also excellent and there is a diverse menu using local fresh food. Staff are very friendly and the service was good. If going in season I recommend booking as it gets very busy

Fantastic food with super service and vibrant atmosphere. All of us enjoyed our chosen dishes which were cooked well and beautifully presented.

Stumbled upon Crofters by chance and it turned out to be quite a find. At first we all went indoors which was a tad dark and dreary but discovered there was an outside eating area which looked great. Drinks orders were a tad problematic. They didn't have sugar free cola, nor did they have carbonated water... minor points but surely something they need to address, Our lunch order was 1x gnocchi and 2x mackerel with salad and potatoes. The service was a bit on the slow side but it was a lovely day, so who cares? The food was hot, clearly freshly cooked and incredibly tasty, although we did have to prompt our server to bring the potatoes. I'd certainly return as the food was excellent and very good value so the minor issues can certainly be forgiven.

Excellent food served by an enthusiastic team of waiting staff who couldn’t be more helpful. A table of 16 celebrating a birthday were noisy but did not hold up proceedings as the kitchen kept things moving and we were served in good time. We had a lovely gluten free meal here yesterday evening. Although we had booked a table in the beer garden, we were grateful to be offered a table inside with the dog as a fine Arran mizzle had just started. There was a good choice of vegetarian and gluten free dishes. We both had the tomato risotto then a wonderful white chocolate panacotta with raspberry and blackcurrant coulis. I had an excellent Calvados - for strictly medicinal purposes. The service was extremely good. The dog enjoyed the attention too! Just a pity the restaurant is only open from Friday to Monday at the moment.

We popped in for a drink and made the mistake of staying for lunch rather than going to the Wineport nearby. The food and drink was acceptable however the portion size of the cheese and biscuits at £9 for three pieces of cheese or £12 for five pieces of cheese was a total rip off. The biscuits (five mini oaties or 28p worth - a box of 30 costs £1.60 from the bakers 2 or 3 doors down) and the cheese portion size was miserly - less than a £1 in cost if that. My burger was OK but at £16.95 was expensive in my view. Service was very friendly but overall this was disappointing and i understand not a comment that hasn't been made before re portion size.

Delicious food and some wonderful beer coupled with excellent service and lovely staff. There was nothing left on any plate with the food all presented beautifully over the three courses. The venison dish was delightful- it melted in your mouth. We will definitely visit again. Well done.
