Excellent food, staff really friendly and helpful. There is plenty of space between tables and place is clean. Great location and easy to get to.

This is in a nice location, right in largs seafront and there doesnt appear to be much similar in town so it stands out in largs and thus i rate 4/5 but had it been in another town i would have said 3/5 as it is fairly generic. The venue is quite large and homey while modern and has weekend entertainment. Food is a lot of asian and mexican with some local fare added. Portions are ok, not huge but reasonable for the price. Service was great, the girl serving me was bubbly and full of energy and easily served everyone in for lunch with no delays. All in all its good, for largs it fills a missing need and its popular. If im in town again i might try again

Visit Room every month roughly and it is consistently good. Staff are always very welcoming and food is always fab. Owner never seems to take a day off 😂 but is always very pleasant. Great customer service, fab food and dog friendly which is a bonus. Highly recommend

This latest visit. I just had a ☕️ coffee and scone. There is a relaxing lounge area at the front. I have eaten in the restaurant area on previous visits, and the food has always been good, and it was always busy.

Lunch here after sail on waverley. All dishes very good. Customer service excellent. Realising no trains running from largs staff phoned taxi for us to catch train from wemyss bay. Mistake by taxi firm left 2 us still in largs. Staff tried to get us another taxi but were told there would be a wait. Staff member then told us she would personally run us to wemyss bay in her own car. At this point taxi came after all. Totally blown away by staffs generous gesture. Because of them going way over and above we will be back and will recommend room to others. Thank you all again for your help and kind gesture.

Have been to this resturant on several occasions when in Largs, as food is usually good. Sat for over an hour waiting on my food. Person in charge "rude man" obnoxious and his customer relation skills where zero, when I asked where my food was. We paid for our coke and latte and left. Needless to say. I will not be back, oh and he said good to that, as a reply.

Popped in for brunch. The staff were lively, the food was great quality and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

Love this place. Good mix of traditional - fish + chips, steak pie - and adventureous - Korean chicken, fajitas. Everything we've had in the times we've been there has been very tasty and high quality.

Was looking forward to eating here but unfortunately was a disaster waited over an hour after ordering and only got some food after speaking to staff Staff appoliged, which was fine, but instead of sorting the issue, we only got half the food we ordered, and no one came back with rest. Was told that they were busy but found this strange as the reswas only half full Was going to order more drinks and deserts but abandoned this, so I will not be returning to this place

Service extremely slow. I ended up cancelling order but as it had been put on plate I agreed to take it in a takeout box. I had I thought it would be nice to sit outside but unfortunately didn’t work out. I won’t hurry back

Lovely friendly staff made very welcome, dogs welcome with water bowl and biscuits. Nice comfy seats good choice of cocktails, nice selection on the menu had fish and chips lovely fresh fish loads of chips salad and rich coleslaw, wife had Mexican spicy chicken roll with chips coleslaw big portion a large glass of wine, good chunky chicken quite spicy loads of jalapenos. All this at a very reasonable price. Recommend.

First time visiting for a very small wedding party and was very impressed with the food. Staff were also extremely helpful, nothing was a bother for them.

Had Mocktails very good and not to pricey, thought the barmaid was a bit ride, seen me waiting and was nxt to be served, but walked away to other end of the bar to speak to 2 female friends not very professional, the young lad behind me comment about it and served me well done that young man, for being professional at your work.

Went all 3 nights we were in Largs , drinks, live music and food. Fantastic place , great atmosphere, lovely friendly staff. Best, freshed fish ever tasted in a restaurant. Will definitely be back when we visit Largs again.

The Room was lovely inside ..service was great and friendly ..sadly the food was not the best ..chef should taste his food before serving ..bland and tasteless..the chicken enchilada was more like a pastry with no real flavour ..the pasta dish wasn't great ...ice cream was the best part of this experience ..real shame as staff were spot on.

Went for dinner after winning a voucher in a raffle. Live in Largs but not been for a while. Wanted Katsu curry but that was not on menu anymore. Had Burrito instead. Didn’t really like the look of it, the coleslaw didn’t look fresh, chips were not fresh and looked like cheap frozen ones at the end of the bag. Husband had tacos which had a lot of oil. Our starter soups were ok though. We had one drink each. The booth table had ripped seats and the table was in a bad state with chunks out of it in several areas. The whole place is in need of upgrading. Our service was friendly. This morning I have had sickness & diarrhoea and having to cancel my days activities as too ill to do anything.

Although Largonians, but haven’t been here for a while and decided to give it a try tempted by the new menu. The staff found us a table although we didn’t book. The bar was very busy and noisy but we sat in the corner at the end so it was ok. We liked the food. Haggis bonbons were good although just three of them. My chicken quesadilla was tasty but the dessert which we shared was the best! So we may come here more often now.

First time here, wouldn't hurry back. Ordered a cheese, ham, and chutney sandwich. Very cheap white bread..like one you'd get in a supermarket for 40p a loaf. Was quiet but took a long time to come, cappuccino was very small and was cold by the time my lunch arrived. Total bill was nearly £28 for 2 average sandwiches, 2 small cappuccinos and a coke...avoid!!!!!

What a terrible, poorly run restaurant. The attitude of some of the staff is beyond out of order, but heard a lot of stories about this place so nothing new. Avoid this "restaurant" at all costs !

Went for lunch on Burger Tuesday, great value at just under a tenner. Tasted delicious. The waitress was so friendly, really pleasant person. Thank you.

Been to room a few times had some food for the first time. I had Korean chicken it tasted great nice and spicy my wife had the room cheeseburger she said it was great and you get loads on your plate. The staff are great like the food good selection of beers and cocktails and a big PLUS you can take your dog into the room. Music every Friday and Saturday night all in all you will have a great time in the room.

Disgusting food and customer service , food was bland , my husband didn’t eat his meal, waitress did not check back on table, complained to waitress, blank look, spoke to another waitress about bill she was arrogant and again no customer skills saying we should have ordered the spicy option, my husband said he would pay for half his meal as he barely touched it , we then asked for the manager, another rude waiter told us the manager was on his way. Manager arrived was rude and threatening , said my husband had eaten his meal , which he had not, and told us to pay or he was calling the police , I told my husband just pay the £7 let’s go. As we left the table next to us found a foot long hair in their dinner and were complaining, no wonder as staff did not have hair tied back. Toilets were filthy and had no toilet roll either. Staff need serious training on customer relations and how to cook Mexican food . Avoid this place there’s much nicer places to eat in Largs with staff who are properly trained and managers that don’t have a bad attitude. .

Food was excellent but the place was empty so no atmosphere and even though there seemed to be as many staff as customers we had to keep going up to the bar to get any service. Asked 3 times for a wine list then the food arrived and we had to ask again

Served straight away. Husband had steak pie which was delicious but the vegetables had a smoked kind of bbq taste which didn't go with steak pie so he left them. I had a chilli burger. Burger came with no chilli so said to the waitress, no apology and then waited a further 5 minutes for it to be rectified to hve a tablespoon of chilli that was bland although described as hot chili. The burger was nice and meaty but absolutely flavourless, no seasoning and the salad on the burger consisted of a lettuce leaf and a bit of tomato. Coleslaw was amazing but or the price paid for a burger and chips I'd have expected a little more to be honest. The waitresses except one that took our order had no chat, no smile infact they were like porcelain dolls not a smile, a hello, did you enjoy your meal or an apology for wrong item on plate. Very unwelcoming. Great menu choice but for the price paid I was disappointed in the service and flavour of food that we had.

Been here before my Son rated it. But not now. I got chicken burger and chips my son got Room burger 🍔 Chicken burger over done chips as well wee asked for tomato sauce and vinegar. It came vinegar had a Beastie in it no apology no nothing got an other vinegar it looked like it had in there since its sell bye date. Definitely will not be Back

Food was absolutely fantastic. Clear plates all round. Allergies taken seriously. Staff friendly. Toilets very clean with lovely toiletries from local business ivory macs. Definitely a place I’d return to if in Scotland again.

We've just returned from dinner at Room (18.08.23). As we've recently moved to Largs from Troon, in order to get a feel for the town, we have been keen to try out as many restaurants as we can. This was our 5th time to Room. The first was for drinks only, once for lunch and the rest for dinner. Whilst the previous visits have been really nice, both in terms of staff and food, this time we were left scratching our heads at the near complete lack of customer service. My partner had the Thai Green Chicken and found it extremely bland. To the point that, despite adding copious salt and pepper, had to stop eating around 30% of the way through their meal. We advised the staff and asked if we could order something different to replace it (ordered the Bao buns with chicken). The replacement was fine. Upon going to pay our bill, I was shocked to see that the Thai Green Chicken was still on the bill and had only been discounted by just over £2.70. We had even been charged for the replacement Bao Buns!! I looked at the staff only to be advised that, 'we can't remove this item from the bill as this was a personal preference. We've old 8 others tonight and nobody has complained'. In order to avoid a scene, I paid the bill and left. The points here are as below: 1. Britain is not known as a country of complainers, so just because 8 of this dish had been sold with no complaints, doesn't mean that the food was actually good!?! It just means that either the diners didn't have courage to complaint. 2. By their actions, they're essentially saying that my partner's views on their food were incorrect on the logic of volume of sales vs complaints. It was distinctly possible that the other diners don't want/didn't expect punchy Asian flavours, in which case fine. However, the dish is meant to be exactly that. To have to add salt and pepper and still send it back is unacceptable. 3. By charging for the offered replacement course, they show a distinct lack of knowledge or care in terms of customer service. 4. By their actions, they may have made an extra £18 or so, but have lost what would have been a regular and (for the most time) satisfied customer(s). Happy to speak to a manager if one cares to respond, but I won't hold my breath. Anyway, barring some contact from Room, we won't be back anytime soon.

We'd previously visited for coffee and cake. It was fantastic, so we had to try the dinner menu. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, and the cock/mocktails well made. Everything was reasonably priced, particularly the mocktails, which were priced to reflect the absence of alcohol - something more local restaurants should consider.

Very disappointing. Ordered plain chicken and cheese enchilada for my teen but it arrived with loads of chopped onion in it and smothered in soured cream. Another meal not eaten. Why not just serve what is ordered. Won’t be back.

We visited as a group of 10, having booked in advance. There was another table with a similar number of people and a good number of other tables taken. We had emailed our order in at their request prior to our visit. The service was excellent as was the food. We can recommend the starters of crayfish salad, chilli nachos, mushrooms on toast and mains of Cajun chicken pasta, fish and chips, Thai green curry, chicken enchiladas and chicken with haggis. Would definitely recommend and will return.

Certainly very popular with locals and visitors alike. Staff were attentive and it was easy enough to obtain a table inside. Good range of drinks and food on offer. Also provides entertainment through the month too!

We went in around 12 in the afternoon, the restaurant was fairly busy! We were seated quickly, at the back of the spacious room. We were given menus, left for a couple of minutes when the young lady came back and took our drinks order....

One of the nicer bar restaurants in the centre of Largs. We stayed for a long weekend in Largs so visited a number of times. The menu is interesting and they have a live band on a Saturday. The drinks were on the expensive side, hence 4 Stars not 5.

Absolutely blown away the food in this establishment is out of this world as is the friendly atmosphere coupled with 1st class service guys you have nailed it!

I was in there 11pm or so, the bar was full of used glasses and I was served a whisky on the rocks in a hot glass straight out of the dishwasher. Poor service.

Enchiladas were fabulous as always. Good sized portions, varied menu and lovely staff. The decor is lovely and the place is very clean. Looking forward to coming back in July.

Used to perform here at open mic and was building my confidence. Too much riff raff at times now and it’s a shame as I used to come here for birthday celebrations and had good memories. Hopefully they can make it better again

Been to the room a few times and the service and meal has always been good. Went in to have a meal on the 18/3/23 and sat at the bar at 4:50 to have a drink waiting on the kitchen opening. I waited and waited whilst a group of young guys were served that had just come in. No doubt they impressed the young barmaid who smirked as I pointed out that I had been waiting for 10 mins to be served. I know it sounds petty, but it was the disrespectful customer service that now means I will no longer be back

Never had food but was in for some drinks at a live gig. Service was brilliant, atmosphere 10/10 and the staff were all friendly. The Guiness was lovely, probably the best I've had in Scotland.

Had never been here but was recommended by friends. Meal was lovely but very large portions, waiter said I could have had a half portion if I had said when I ordered, nothing on menu to say this. I will know next time.

Been a few times and would go back. Was a bit disappointed with their goats cheese salad as it was just a bowl of mixed lettuce leafs a few nuts but a nice portion of cheese, Would have been nice to have other vegetables beetroot or peppers anything in it lol, Their loaded fries are a swim of cheese sauce ok if you like soggy chips I didn't like this spice in them either, the lentil soup is lovely the Haggis bon bons are amazing and their cocktails are nice just a shame they didn't have all the ingredients for some of them. Love their onion rings as a side, their burgers and chips are good love the coleslaw that comes with them. Have visited Room a few times now for drinks and the staff are amazing, nice relaxed atmosphere. We were there on 3rd Feb for a Burns Supper, it was £20/person and included a 3 course meal with entertainment, we weren’t expecting much for the price of the ticket but my goodness were we in for a fab surprise. On arrival we were greeted by the staff and made to feel so welcome. The area was beautifully decorated with large candelabras and lovely soft lighting. The night started with drinks and highland dancing followed by a Burns recital, then our food arrived, haggis Bon bobs to start which were piping hot and delicious followed by steak pie, mash and clap shot, equally delicious, finishing off with cheese and biscuits, lovely! The speakers were absolutely top notch, the staff and service was superb, thank you Stephen McDonald and the team, it was a fabulous night! Although you could have charged much more for such a great night!

The staff are very kind and service is excellent. Food is always freshly cooked and very enjoyable. Was told the other day if the weather was too bad i could always have home delivery. I dont live too far away from the restaurant but not very steady in strong winds. Not happened so far. The bar area also seems well stocked, they have what i like but theres also a good range on display.
