I was taken here by my daughter and her family and we all had a lovely day (despite the weather not being so great). The restaurant staff were very friendly, helpful and observed all Covid-19 rules, as did all the staff. Outside the 2mt distancing was observed. Only one group at a time was allowed in and after login in and hand sanitising were led directly to our table where the restrictions regarding mask wearing, leaving the table and using the toilets were clearly explained. The service was fairly quick, and the meals were perfectly cooked, delicious and plentiful. There were no complaints from anyone, including an 11 year old fussy eater and a 4 year old. Lovely desserts were available too.The nursery was lovely and the plants were well looked after. My grandchildren loved the milk shakes too. Overall a lovely visit, and I enjoyed the rural location too.

A wee evening buffet from Coo Shed :)It was a pleasant surprise when I found out they can cater for us GF folks. To say the cajun chicken mayo sandwich is to die for would be an absolute understatement, I have been craving it ever since! Just the perfect combo of Cajun spice, mayo and chicken - not too strong and not too heavy. I was spoilt with the chocolate cake too, simply delicious!I have tried lots of different places for GF food and this place is certainly not to be missed. Will be visiting with my hubby soon.

Visited the The Coo Shed, really disappointed so see “No Dogs” sign up when we arrived (no mention on FB or website that dogs not permitted) and despite a dog greeting us in the car park a gentleman shouted “sorry no dogs”. We then tried to go in to buy something to take away only to be told “no sit in only!” Not dog friendly and very poor service!

Went to collect some fresh milk at the self service machine, it's a very good idea and they now have an egg vending machine, cake vending machine and a fruit and veg vending machine. It was very well organised like a drive thru, as we had to wait a while as the que was quite long but it saves you going to the shops and coming into contact with people.Somethings are overpriced compared to other nearby farm shops, but it is very handy.

I have been to a number of hotels and restaurants in recent years here in South Ayrshire, we normally only eat out on special occasions. It was recommended that we try the Coo Shed just off the major A77 trunk road, and we certainly weren't disappointed.I preferred this farmhouse style restaurant compared to any restaurant I have tried in years it was that good, well done!Only a couple of minuets off the busy A77, there was ample parking space, but I noticed only one particular disabled space, more than one is required here in my opinion. We arrived just outside the traditional lunch period of 12pm – 2pm, and had to wait a few minuets to be seated it was that busy, but well worth the wait, service was good, food excellent, and prices reasonable. My only criticism would be the lack of choice with the starters on their menu, I don't like mushroom soup which sort of made the choice a little limited in my opinion. To drink I enjoyed a glass of fresh farm milk, and there was even milk to go in their novel 'milkhoose' which has extended opening hours 7am until 7pm open seven days. Plus an honesty box for bottle payments, how good is that.As well as a traditional on site garden nursery, there was also a small shop, I purchase a very nice fruit loaf at £3.50, a bit pricey for this I thought, but quality was excellent to help make up for cost.Overall, I would judge the food at 9.5 out of ten, well done!We shall definitely return.

2nd visit. Will defo be the 2nd of many. I work 9 to 5 Monday to Friday and seldom take a day off through the week , so I really appreciate finding places like this where the standard of customer service and product are fantastic. My partner and I arrived about 11.30. There were a few folk waiting before us but we were immediately approached by a smiling friendly member of staff who advised us and others waiting that we shouldn't have to wait long. We were provided with menus. Watching the staff you could see they were all busy and they obviously have their service down to a fine art. We were seated within a few minutes. We had our orders taken by a pleasant young girl. Had a bit of a laugh when ordering my latte as I asked if they had any flavoured syrups and I misheard as I thought she said 'Cajun' when she said 'Hazlenut' wonder how that would have tasted . We had the chicken & rice soup followed by the chilli nachos for my partner and french toast with bacon and maple syrup. OMG TASTE SENSATION !!! ❤❤❤ The french toast with bacon and maple syrup was simply awesome. I tried a couple of the other halfs chilli nachos and yeah, perfection. The chicken and rice soup was hearty good homemade with loads of chicken. We bought a bit of cheesecake and a banana fudge scone for later (gorgeous). The staff were hardworking and friendly and what was sooo nice was that they really seem to care that you are enjoying your meal/snack/experience. Was more than happy to leave a tip and thanks to all the staff. It was an absolute treat. A+++++ 11/10

A couple sat down next to us and within a couple of minutes they recieved their order. We then noticed more tables then recieving their food and drink orders and we were still waiting. Plenty staff walking about and no one seemed to notice the lengh of time wed been sitting. Eventually notified a member of staff to cancel our order as wed waited 25 minutes. She was applologetic and said she would check up on the order but at this stage we wouldnt want to be paying for coffee wed waited to long on. We visited this establishment at the weekend, where we had good food! This was our second visit and will be our last. The management require to take these reviews on board seriously as it could be detrimental to their business! On arrival we had to stand with a group of people all squashed up in the doorway, nearly on top of a couple having a meal with their baby in a pram...we were literally blocking the exit for anyone leaving. It was awful with no organisation from any of the staff, they went about oblivious and not even taking the time to try and explain. We were eventually seated, and our order was taken by the more mature lady who was the only one pleasant ....the other staff were rude and didn't have any manners whatsoever....we had to approach them to clear our table then wait for a considerable time for our next order to be taken by a frosty young woman who had a face like sour cream. Again this order was not as we had ordered, causing more delay. I can appreciate at times due to being busy these things can occur butthis was not the case!....The management need to send their staff on a welcome host course to train them to the standard of care towards customers, due to this unpleasant visit we will not be recommending as unfortunately we will be avoiding returning again in the future which is sad ( such a lovely setting) very unhappy customer indeed.

Cost of wrap bit pricey, advertised with salad but one wee tiny spoonful of coleslaw, however the wrap itself was delicious

Nice setting hidden away in Ayrshire countryside. Small barn turned into a restaurant with a basic menu if sandwiches, wraps and salads.

First time visit on a Sunday and it was very busy with people waiting for a table to become free. Despite this, the service was efficient. Food was excellent and the decor was in keeping with the location on a farm.Lentil soup was lovely and obviously home made. Toastie was also very good and the selection of cakes was certainly to the liking of my dining companion.A stroll around the small garden centre afterwards just finished the visit nicely.I would recommend for a light bite although there are a few main course dishes on the menu too. I will be back very soon.

My family love the coo shed. Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, great staff and brilliant garden and gift shop to wander around afterwards, always something to buy. I also get a lot of outside catering provided by the team which is amazing!! Well worth a visit if you’ve never been!

Great use of a farm building. Good decor, spotless toilets and very friendly staff. The food was good but the coffee very poor, a cappuccino looked like a white coffee with chocolate dusted on and tasted about the same!

Went here for breakfast with family, it was great! I am rather fussy and would saybreakfast isn't usually my favourite meal, on this occasion it was really nice. I had French toast with lovely bacon which I enjoyed and the coffee was great too! Everyone else had a five item cooked breakfast which they also enjoyed, look forward to a return visit!

This cafe is an absolute gem! The food is to die for. I had the tastiest broccoli soup I've ever tasted. The cakes are sublime and it's real honest home cooked food. I would highly recommend eating here.

Ate a tasty lunch here with my daughter. Served swiftly and efficiently. As the place is always so busy it didn't feel like a relaxing meal and felt we couldn't linger over our meal. None the less I would certainly return as the food is delicious.

Myself and my girlfriend took a trip to The Coo Shed today at lunch time. The cafe was pretty straight forward to find with plenty of parking. We headed into the nice cafe and got seated quickly by a friendly waitress who took our order very quickly. We both went for a soup and a sandwich which was brilliant. The real star of the show was the cakes. We opted to take a slice of chocolate cake and banoffee pie home. Both were so delicious. Before we left we had to head to the milkbot and get a litre of fresh milk. Again this was sampled at home and was easily the best milk we’ve ever tasted. A brilliant place for lunch and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

We went here for lunch as we’ve heard good reviews about it. The food was good as far as lunch goes. The cakes were also good and had a good selection. The place is quite quirky and usually very busy but you don’t have to wait long to get a table. Worth a visit for lunch.

I wanted to like Coo Shed but appalling decisions by the person responsible for furnishing the place made that impossible. Solid wood floors, stone/brick walls, solid wood ceiling. Hard wood tables and chairs. Even the incidental items are chosen to make the noise problems worse - milk churns and ploughs to maximise bright sound reflection. It could be different so easily. Wool carpets. Embroideries on the walls. As it is I was in physical pain.Oh, and to ensure that the environment was possible they were playing music. No tune or lyrics could be heard of course - just noise. What a waste from poor planning.

Great location for a stop off on our way from Edinburgh to Newton Stewart which we do regularly. Interesting, comfortable and quirky setting, wonderful staff and proper homecooked, tasty food. The milkbot is a bonus too. Make sure you save room for the delicious and often inventive cake, I just can't resist it. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and attentive which is rare these days unfortunately and one of the reasons we stop off here instead of the many places nearby. Genuinely child friendly which I very much appreciate as I have 7yr,5yr and 6 month old sons. This is my new favourite lunch place, a wonderful find!

Just off the A77 opposite the Alloway junction, the Coo Shed is part of a working dairy farm. The signpost leads to a carpark. The diversification includes a small garden centre, a gift shop and self service milk unit. The cafe is well furnished and light and airy. The staff are very friendly and smiling. The menu caters for all with a good selection of savoury dishes and some delicious cake inventions. As you would expect on a dairy farm plenty of cream on the cakes.Convenient for a stop on a bit of the road for a break.

Very nice cafe, also very busy on my visit, which is a common thing for them I hear.I think I know why! Excellent food!Starting off with the joirney there. I didn't see a sign on the A77, but I had a rough idea where I was heading. Then the road off the A77 & up to the cafe is signed tho, but that is only a single track, with passing places, so please take care.Pleanty car park spaces with a fresh milk vending room next to it. The cafe itself was very, very nice. Clean and modern. Seated quickly by friendly staff, who advised us of the specials and what soups had just run out... Then our order was also taken pretty soon after we had went over the menu.We has a couple of Turkey dinners, couple of Scones and a coffee for under twenty five quid!! Meals got a 10/10 btw...All the staff were very pleasent and they all wanted to make sure all was fine with the service.Deffo not be my last trip to The Coo Shed!!

We have used the Coo Shed to meet family for lunch and have never left disappointed. Each time we have visited, we have had a short wait for a table which does reflect the popularity of the establishment. The menu is very basic but caters to a range of tastes and needs. Each time we have visited the food has always been well prepared and presented and have been happy with what we’ve received. The staff have always been attentive, helpful and pleasant. I would recommend the Coo Shed for people wanting a relaxed breakfast / light lunch that is reasonably priced and very tasty. The reason for 4/5 stars is that on each occasion we have visited the restaurant has been busy and the tables are extremely tightly packed and the ease of movement around the restaurant is not easy, especially when you have a baby with a car seat or pram as we have had during our visits. I understand from a business point of view that an establishment wants as many ‘bums on seats’ as possible but the ease of movement really does take the shine off an otherwise faultless three visits.
