You know when your wife takes a photograph of the room key and sends it to you with a caption "Please can I come here again" you know it's a success. Great find by my wife for out wedding anniversary and visit to Glasgow. Great location, fabulous food...
Popped in for some food whilst in the area for work - I was blown away by the quality. The best bakers I have ever been to. Almond croissant, ham salad roll and an empire biscuit- each were delicious. I only wish they opened on a Sunday so I could take some treat home !
Passing through towards the end of a long journey, we were delighted to find this open on a Monday morning. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was the most delicious I’ve ever tasted - especially that wonderful bacon! Definitely worth a detour!
Thanks so much!
This café is the best we have ever visited. Everything is homemade ache absolutely delicious. We had sublime soup and couldn't choose which cake to have so had 6 small pieces to try them all! The owner is incredibly friendly and so welcoming. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Absolutely fantastic.
Excellent B&B with fabulous hosts, Jackie & John. We were a family of 3 adults staying for 3 nights in the 2 available bedrooms.
Both rooms were spotless, comfortable, very well presented with very comfortable beds and good quality bedding. The rooms are en-suite with large walk in showers with plenty of hot water.
If you are looking to stay in the area then my advice would be to book the Crown & Anchor as our experience was 100% positive. We couldn’t find fault with anything. The location is stunning and so peaceful.
Breakfasts were delicious as was the food we had from the tea rooms downstairs. Jackie’s homemade Victoria sponge is to die for.
We were made to feel so welcome and would book here again if we were to return to Dumfries and Galloway. Jackie and John, thank you both so much for making our holiday so enjoyable x
Absolutely stunning meal and service as per usual, young waitress was very polite and professional, great atmosphere and cosy little restaurant, both demolished the 3 courses, both had the confit of duck leg which just melted in the mouth,as a chef in the past this place is a class above the rest,Booked and returning again in for the festive, Thanks to emma and nick again👌
Visited The Pirn House recently and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. There's a varied menu with delicious dishes, catering for all. The owners have worked hard to comply with recent conditions and the restaurant looked inviting. The staff there are very welcoming and pleasant too.
I can highly recommend The Pirn House.
We chanced apon the coffee tree this afternoon and had a really nice lunch here. The lady who served us was so warm, helpful and friendly and was so kind to my 2 year old. The food was really yummy and beautifully presented and the overall atmosphere was super cozy on a rather cold damp day!
The best coffee in Langholm can never just one cup though.
Our second visit this month, last time we had lunch which was lovely, chilli wrap. This time we just had coffee and a shortbread biscuit for Alfie the dog.
Very friendly attentive staff. Fully reccomend.
Lovely setting staff were very friendly and helpful. The cocktails were fab and we ordered the small plates platter and the smoked fish platter which were excellent. Can’t wait to come back to try more of your food and cocktails.
Had breakfast here on a busy Thursday morning (just before mums group with 7! buggies). Excellent strong coffee and bacon rolls. Great friendly service
Faultless food and service in a superb, comfortable location. Birthday dinner for five of us, varied choices from beeg to schnitzel to scampi...all beautifully cooked and presented. 3 starters, 5 mains, 3 desserts, drinks and wine working out around £30 a head..great value. Will definitely be back
Some of the best food I've ever had, and I've travelled the world.
Try the prawn bap. It's incredible
We are back on Gigha next summer and heading straight to the Nook.
